i don't see how it could be a gamejack...
i mean, the way slendy was made, every interpretation of him could probably be considered it[including MH]

The Rake is just some creepypasta (myth/story) from 4chans /x/ board. This is clearly just someone game-jacking.
Well, the creator of Slender Man was inspired by The Rake, as far as I understand it, so...

the "inner child" episode of fringe contains empaths who resemble SM in a few different ways.
especially his ability to affect the thoughts of others and whatnot.
just an old conversation i had with a friend that turned into a theory to throw onto the unforum. ;P
talking of fringe, i don't watch it, but haven't some people mentioned the "watcher" in that?
some guy who appears for a second int eh background, just standing there[nofacial features either]
they actually took that a step further in marketing and had him hide in very popular shows, like american idol. he made a quick appearance in the crowd, and noone mentioned anything about him.
completely unrelated, but still mega awesome if you dig the show. :]

The IRC post is great and I definitely don't consider it a game-jack, it's just another story from the main thread. The CreepyPasta story was part of Victor's inspiration so it's not all that far fetched to call back to it.
Most of all I really like the way SM is described in his MO. Just a kind of an all consuming obsession that leads to everything falling apart and ultimately to death by your own hand. It fits really well when applied to Marble Hornets and the way the characters who have experienced or seen SM react to it. They start off intrigued and it goes down hill from there. Just like J commented in the end of Entry #18.

Don't forget - MH has never once given him a name. Sure, JAFOOL might be calling him out as slenderman, but when MH is over don't be upset if you find out Alex was being stalked by "Mr. Tall Happy Suit Man Guy"
Cause I'll tell you what - I'm SERIOUSLY afraid of Mr. Tall Happy Suit Man Guy. He's DANGEROUS.
I'm fond of Capt Happy McHuggs-a-lot, Esq.

I'll tell you what he is - a pervert.
I have to close the blinds on the upstairs bathroom when I'm having a shower now because of Slendy.

Oh shit I think I found Slender Man's cousin!
Okay but seriously, Slender Man is a mythical creature, akin to the Loch Ness Monster, Yeti, Leprechaun and the like. He's just more amazing than all the others.

I must agree. I'd love to invite him to dinner over a nice glass of wine.
Only problem is, he doesn't have a mouth.
Hehehe, wow, that clip was even funnier with the SM reference.

I can't believe not one mentioned this before and I can't believe that -I- didn't mention in...
The Slender Man would make a pretty great aspect of Nyarlathotep. And he -is- pretty Lovecraftian...
