Film's relationship to ARG (spoilers)

I saw the film last night and it was decent. It tied in the viral campaign pretty well, though the ARG basically gives away the plot.

I think the viral is set in 2012, because in that year, Charlie mentions to Jackson that Professor Meyers died two months ago after he received the package with the map.

In case you're wondering, the ships are being built in China, so that's the significance of the map.

I just got back from seeing the movie. I survived, and I was entertained.

I really only thought about the ARG when the one guy said, "We should have had a lottery, given everyone an equal chance." That, and the mention of Douglas Meyers. Beyond that, I didn't see much direct relationship at all (not counting the prominent role played by Jackson Curtis and his "Farewell Atlantis" book, hee!). I caught zero mention of IHC or any Human Continuity group specifically, and certainly not the public face that our trailhead gave us, sham or not, although the green boarding passes were important.

(OK, disclaimer, Charlie Frost was also a major player in the movie, but I dislike Woody Harrelson and avoided his wacko website for this ARG, so there's that.)

yeah there was a lot crossover with the Frost character (like the pickles and the blog), but your right, the names of IHC and ARC were never used.

The map was a huge part though.

I wondered why they never mentioned the IHC by name. But that's who the president's daughter was working with.. etc
Maybe it got too complicated to explain?

I'm glad that the building with the IHC advert was still in the disaster scene. Made me smile.
