I live about an hour away from Legoland Günzburg in Germany.
If that is one landing site I'll absolutely go there!

Something a bit odd going on with the site right now. The third code string box had nearly filled, and now it's gone back to zero!

Actually it's gone over (at 99 out of 97 last I looked)

They have a piece of code to generate the image, and I suspect it's returning null due to incompatible input.

I'm thinking they will hardcode it to 97 out of 97, when they put up the pod 3 data.

Quick update: Deutschendorf reports "difficulties obtaining data". I'm guessing that means a bug in their CMS. In any case, they're aware of the issue, and are working on it, so we can get our hands on the next batch of data.

Update #2: They fixed their image generator, now it's showing all pink despite being at 169 of 97. No data yet. Sad

Update #3: Huh. An update showed the elusive "Click here to see pod data" on Pod 3, but clicking on it rerouted me back to the same page, but with the code text field back. Sad Should be close, though.

Nothing on the main page about it, but there's a new map up. It looks like #4 is coming down near Chicago!

Pod data is up! (finally!)

I wonder if something will happen on this side of the dimensional gap at 9PM. And what kind of 9PM it is. Man, I have to take my laptop to my niece's birthday tonight. ^^

As for letters, I'm not spotting them, but one could argue, 4 paragraphs of text gives 4 starting letters.

Edit: Oh, duh, nvm. The lamps behind the star outline text.

You can't see enough of the lamps to make out 4 letters though. And if that first "letter" is supposed be an "X", it's kind of a lopsided one.

I can see four minikits waiting to be assembled on the raised stages, and four more arranged at the front of the main stage. Perhaps once they are put together they'll reveal the four letters? That would mean we'd need to wait on another picture to be uploaded later.

I could go to Chicago! 3 hours away...
The points are already close. Do you think it will be there at 9 PM? Maybe they are trying to speed it up because it is supposed to finish by Jan 15.
EDIT: a little late, but I see the ID for #3 was RENSMw
It came with a chrome chain saw.

So far, the four letters revealed for each pod have been different for the German and English versions of the site. I opened the English and German versions of the picture from pod 3 in different tabs and switched between them a bunch of times. I can't see any difference in the image itself, only in the text overlays. That suggests the four letters are hidden in the text of the poster. It's going to be hard to pick them without any way of verifying our guesses though.

For those of us who are visually-inclined:

Also, several letters are high-lighted in this image, not just four. Not sure what the deal is, but throughout the text the following letters are solid as opposed to the other letters that are hollow:

F
T
S
D
J
A
C

That's a lot of letters, but they are all solid and in the past that has meant they were part of the letter-pairings...

Those just signify capital letters, and from what I can see they are all capital letters that are justified by the context. Great work on annotating the image though!

Ah, nice, that would explain it. Face, meet palm!

Is there some sort of sequence for the four musical notes? I tried tabbing around the page to see if I could find the hidden letters, and saw that four red boxes were each selectable. Pressing them gets different notes.

Any significance to this?

(Also, sorry if this was already mentioned. I didn't see anything about it here, so I thought I'd ask.)

How obvious! But it takes a genius to think of the obvious first! Smile

I'd wager the names of the notes (A,B,C,D,E,F or G) correspond to the letters. Anyone got a pitch analyser of some kind?

Someone pointed out that it is an swf file. I opened it with the program for looking into them. It turns out it is a jpeg inside the swf, so you can't move the star.
I was able to extract 5 mp3 files from the file. Each is a beep, reminiscent of the ones in the pod examination video. The first one is kind of high, and the rest are subsequently lower pitched, except the last one, which is higher than the first.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/3/1/2344608/2.mp3 (left box)
http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/3/1/2344608/3.mp3
http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/3/1/2344608/4.mp3 (middle rightish box)
http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/3/1/2344608/5.mp3 (top box)

Number 3 is the one not found by clicking boxes.
