Thad blatantly said there are pictures floating around, so I am going to go with it. Hey, JJ isn't throwing us a bone, so we may as well go on this ride with Thad as long it lasts, I don't care if it's related to CLover or not... I just want something to chew on until JJ gives us something real.

 		Hi, folks. New here, although I poked around a bit on Unfiction during the Metacortechs thing. Recently (finally) saw Cloverfield, and then stumbled on the 500 RADS thing, which naturally led me back here. Feels good.

Anyway, just noticed something on today's 500 RADS post. The praying skeleton has a number in Roman numerals on the base: XLVII. Forty-seven, in other words, which is somehow one of JJ Abrams' favorite numbers, figuring in some of his work. Maybe that's a little too blatant, I dunno.

Also, as far as the poorly Photoshopped picture ... Well, he did say his mom takes horrible pictures! But, I also thought it looked somewhat familiar, and by poking around on Google Earth, I was able to confirm that it's not taken in Central Park. That's a shot taken in Washington Square, looking west.

OK, now I'm just meandering, doing free association. The "Watch Me Pull an Arrow Out of My Heart" post says "Again?" Makes me wonder if that's a reference to Beth getting the rebar pulled out of
her chest ...

And, what's with the "It' @$#% cold on the set!" post? I don't quite get why there'd be a reference to a set.

Finally, what's with the link to Shannon Kringen's "Totally Bizarre" Flickr page on 500 RADS under "Totally Random." If you search on "Shannon Kringen New York", you can find a set of pictures from her July 2009 trip to NY. One of them has a very Hal-like reference:

1) Thad would not know what Cloverfield was, and even if he did work it out upside-down, he would still have no idea what it meant ... He had only seen the raw footage; not the SD card itself.

My biggest problem is with the right side of the flame. The rest looks copy-pasted too, but I could excuse that, since it's not hideous to look at. But the flame completely ruins it by being just too damn rough at the edges. The way it is, they should've made it no bigger than half its size, 'cause the resolution is what gives it away...it's just too big for its own good.

I suppose, that still doesn't mean it's OOG, though... some of the first stuff we got for the Cloverfield ARG-ish thing was pretty bad, too.

Just been on a Cloverfield flashback and checking in...caught up this thread and will just drop my OHO on the table that the blog thing is unrelated.

We all know what JJ is capable of producing...even when they set up the myspace pages there were characters we could point to as connected.

This looks to me (too) of someone who is jacking the Cloverfield theme and horsing around, whether well intentioned (to give fans something to play with) or just uncreative. Smells totally like Ethan Haas to me.

Then too, there is way too much 4th Wall contamination going on with this tale...a guy who worked on the Cloverfield "fiction" movie is now suddenly gone MIA and virus and now the Slusho connection? It can't work - if Cloverfield was ARG/viral then it's an alternate reality we accept as happening, not a "movie" that had an ARG. Therefore there should not (and would not in a professional sense) be any way for someone working on the movie to get caught up in the game.

Not jiving.

And isn't that "starts with the flu" connected to the one site with a 4 year countdown? lmao come on...seriously? Nobody will play a "wait & see" ARG for 4 years.


But the Jan 10 article of Abrams confirming they're working on something now is awesome.

I really want a Slusho though.

 		OK, I'm leaning toward it not being real now. Strikes me as someone who has an idea for the next film and wants to pitch it to the producers, so they're whipping up a bit of frenzy on our part to show what they can do.

Also, I think the blog is supposed to look fake on purpose?

I mean, the 500 Rads thing popped out of no-where.

It's funny that people are more curious about Sakura, than Hal, Carol or Thad.

 		The name RasGold is familiar to me. I want to say it's a name used by someone who posted on CloverfieldClues website but I'm not 100% certain. If I am right, then I think that person because ill favoured among the CC locals.

Interesting. Chinese and Japanese use many of the same characters; the top part translates from Japanese into English, but the bottom part doesn't. If you go from Chinese to English (courtesy Google translation page), you get a pretty standard description of the fish.
