Is it possible that the two audio files are just a windows version and a mac version of the same thing? You know, so that the recipient would be sure to be able to open it?

The image source for the Genesis picture is http://7thdeathofjack.webs.com/Eden/genesis_belgium1972.jpg

dont know if it matters or not but w/ these things you never can tell, in 1972 peter gabriel was still the lead singer not phil collins which is who most ppl associate as the lead.

I found the exact pix with the exact resolution on another site and they both have the same file size of 32612 bytes, so I don't believe its been altered or stegged.

If you look at the way the pix is displayed in the blog post vs the source file, the 5th band member on the far right is not visible. Which member is that? I wonder if that's intentional?

I believe the member cut off on the right is Steve Hackett. I've never used Blogspot before, but I haven't seen any blogs that have pictures that are too big to be shown and not sized down. At the same time I am skeptical of whether it was intentional. It's not like the pic was modified to perfectly cut Hackett out.

If it is a coincidence, it is a rather curious one.

i asked about the pick in an email...this was the reply, it seems the he had to fix the sound file, i can hear it fine, its pretty long....The picture is supposed to lead you to something else. There is some information I can't just leave out in plain view but it does not have to be well hidden. Jack wrote the poem, but the man in the robe is making me question that. As for the sound, it was a technical difficulty, I am emailing you the fixed sound clip, unfortunately I can't get my recordings to any file format besides .wma and .mp4.

Alright... so I got it. He says every image has a source, yes?

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I looked at the image source. It's listed as http://7thdeathofjack.webs.com/Eden/genesis_belgium1972.jpg. Remove the image name from the end, and the Eden, and you're left with another website for our buddy Jack.

Now, this new site leads us nowhere, until you socket in the final clue given to use on Blogspot. "I Like Genesis".

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
http://7thdeathofjack.webs.com/Eden/genesis.html leads us to a white page with the text "I think I'm being watched."

Now that's all fine and dandy, right? But it doesn't look like we have much to work with. That is until...

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
View the page source. It says the following:

"This is definitely Biblical. I am trying to find the Theology major mentioned in the note. I've got no leads besides the fact that this guy knew Jack. If you guys can find him that would help. If it helps
he has been referenced in a few notes as Hadron Blurb."

So we have a name to roll with. I haven't seen any mention of some of things written above yet, so maybe I accidentally found something a little later in the game than we were supposed to find yet? It seemed logical to me though.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
EDIT: "Hadron Blurb" anagrams into L. Ron Hubbard. It could be relevant since this kid is supposedly a theology major. Maybe something Scientology related here? Doubtful, but it made me chuckle.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Did a Google search for "Hadron Blurb" and got a lot of recent-ish results from some anonymous poster. One in particular is the last few comments at http://madhatters.me.uk/2009/11/06/bird-bread-and-lhc/... could be OOG, but he actually gives us a place of employment and a reference to Xenu/Nexu and the year 2012.

Got a hit back from Jack. I sent him the following e-mail a few hours ago.

Quote:
I too like Genesis. I found your message, and the name Hadron Blurb is curious to me. It's obviously a nickname, and it's an anagram for L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology. Was Jack involved with Scientology, to the best of your knowledge? Was there any kind of identifying characteristics to the notes that might help me track him down?

I've since gotten two replies, here they are:

Quote:
Here's a note, you tell me.

Wl, ggn jbwrh qpw HFIKSYP.
Rsvo, gji qxv ag xug vsym al vvilx.
Einx cbw izbz lkepgh fxkc rsht jejqdr
xegi. Clc'jx e jkwi jif.

This is a note from Hadron Blurb. I have taken a picture of the cipher part and Hadron's signature on my phone.
I'll send those later.

And the other:

Quote:
Here's picture of signature.

Please...see it. I need someone to see it.

Attached is the picture.

EDIT: Found something in the pic, don't mouseover if you wanna find it for yourself.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Bottom left hand corner, it says "WHO IS MAN IN ROBES?"

I replied, mentioning I'd found the above, and was told:

Quote:
You saw it. Now you know what you need to know.

I have to imagine that's some kind of a key to the cipher, but I haven't had any luck with it yet.

EDIT: We have a Twitter for our friend Hadron. I sent a message asking if the clue found in the picture was indeed a clue to the cipher, and this was the reply I recieved:

Quote:
No, it is my question to you. Also, I found out Scott has a twitter. He's on to me though.

Wow Punchline! You totally sliced your way through that. Your wit and cleverness are an awesome machete. Now maybe we can get a clue as to what the '7 deaths' are about.

Sweet Yams Punchline, am still in awe. And began playing with the cipher and got lucky.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
TYPE: Vigenere KEY: existence

So, you found the OBVIOUS.
Jack, the man in the robe is right.
Have you ever traced back your family
tree. You're a wise man.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
A wise man

I wonder if that in and of itself is a Biblical reference? I checked into the names, and this is what I found. I'll spoiler this as well for anyone who doesn't want the puzzle pieces put together for them. This is a direct copy and paste from a Google search, I'm not like super smart or anything.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
According to medieval legend the names of three were Melchoir, King of Arabia, who brought gold; Gaspar, King of Tarsus, whom brought myrr; and Balthasar, King of Ethiopia, whom brought frankincense. These three names do not come from the Bible and did not appear in Christian literature until five hundred years after the birth of Jesus.

I hit our friend up with another e-mail.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The cipher has been cracked.

KEY: existence
So, you found the OBVIOUS.
Jack, the man in the robe is right.
Have you ever traced back your family
tree. You're a wise man.

A wise man? From a historical sense, the three wise men were Melchoir, King of Arabia, who brought gold; Gaspar, King of Tarsus, whom brought myrr; and Balthasar, King of Ethiopia, whom brought frankincense. Think there is any significance there? What is Jack's last name? Perhaps we could try searching for a historical significance.

Also, by what pseudonym should I refer to you, since you're not Jack?

-Punchline

Unless its all real and this is from someone actually trying to escape from Scientologists!! [insert dramatic music cue]

Hadron might also refer to the Large Hadron Collider...?

It's quit possible that the comments were simply added for purposes of giving us some more information to play upon, but it could also be a coincidence since Hadron Blurb seems to be a well known anagram for L. Ron Hubbard.

Now that we have a Twitter for him, I'm clearing that part up for good. I posed a question to him via his Twitter about working for AWE at Burghfield

EDIT: Got a response from our friend "Not Jack".

Quote:
I'm not Jack and I don't want to say my name. You can call me friend. You can call me ... John. This is not my real name, but the name you should call me.
