Try working backwords - what might the last word be? or last couple of words? what before/after the comma?
Even the comma could be before or after the period.

Tried to make "However, " fit but it can't because of the s between w and r.

 		argh, I misread the quote with the strings, the one that had them split in two lines each... ignore my stuff about end of sentences and everything - I hadn't quoted the 2nd half of each line. grr...

Isn't there already a flaw here? To get "robe is" meant using "ei" which is sequential in the first line, as well as "man in" uses "ni" sequentially in the second line. I noticed it when I started to number the order in which the letters are taken (hoping for a pattern)

I guess the "no sequentials" rule only applies within a word, which does nullify "animal" -- unless the flaws are more rampant.

Also, if there are 4 periods and 4 capitalized letters, shouldn't "Jack" be the start of the next sentence? Just thinking out loud...
(ugh, formatting)

The last word in this whole mess might be "next."

EDIT:
I can get "However," but this gives me a mess in between:
"You are both amodalsnoftimeanspeach.However,"
or maybe
"You are both anomadlsoftimeanspace.hHowever,"

If there are four period, there should be four sentences, and presumably four capitals. There are five, which leads me to believe "Jack" isn't the beginning of a sentence.

I believe, accurately copied (can someone double check?) the lines should be:

See, we're working from different sets of data. My "However" used the lowercase ".ov" which you have capitalized in your data. (later edit now questions this) Also, in my post above, I was trying to preserve the spaces (as underscores) which may or may not be necessary.

Definitely not happy about working on this further until this is cleared up. Either there are not enough capitals or one too many (TJYHOW -J for Jack leaves 5 uppercase for 4 sentences)

 		agreed... this is something we need precise quotes of the original text ranges to have a decent chance of figuring out.
In one version (well, each), the included spaces don't make sense, in another there are capitals which may or may not be right, along with the odd spaces... hmph.

It's basically an anagram puzzle using a changing set of three/four letters/characters to pick from incrementally to form meaningful phrases. IMO it's a good puzzle (wouldn't be surprised to see it in a puzzle magazine for instance) but it requires an accurate source of all information. Razz

I've skipped past some jumble and realigned past the middle to pull out "of you want to surpass him you must pass his" (yes, "of you", i couldn't get "if you" to lead into that section)
