Well I had been linked to a chatroulette prank video, and one of the comments was like "lol @ x: xx spotted the MarbleHornets crew" and I was thinking, what on earth is Marble Hornets, and why is that guy wearing a mask?

So I googled it, and it was mid January 2010, about a week before entry 23 was posted. I've been hooked ever since. I've tried showing it to everyone I know, but so far only my younger sister is addicted as I am.

(edit for smiley)

My friend and I were bored one night while chatting, and we somehow got started on some kind of out-creeping the other game. It started with the easy memes, creepypasta, etc. I ran out of material pretty fast and went in search of something else. I had heard of Slender Man only in that visceral 'NOPE' reaction people had so I figured why not.Of course, it's nearly impossible to look him up without getting MH along with it and we were both bored enough to watch the first 20 entries of so.

I can't speak for him, but I'm still every bit as interested as I was that first nearly sleepless night.

I actually found it through Doctor Who. This past season the show introduced these creatures called the Silence, and they bear a reasonable resemblance to the ol' Thin White Duke (they wear suits, their features are pretty long and thin, and their faces aren't really very face-y). Because of this, a lot of websites compared the Silence to Slender Man, and I became curious. I Googled Slender Man and ended up finding Marble Hornets.

And the rest, as they say, is history.

I'm extremely new to the series. Me and 5 other friends were going over to one of the guy's house just to hang out and when I asked them what we were gonna do they said "We're gonna watch Marble Hornets." I had no idea what it was but they had seen a few episodes so we hooked up my friends laptop to his tv and watched all 47 entries. I had to change my pants so many times.

My stepbrother's friend told him about it. He started watching some of it, and then my stepbro told me about it. That's about it really. I was hooked though, and still am. I love series that have many unanswered questions and mysteries.

Of course, I've never have the satisfaction of getting any of them really answered (I'm looking at you A Series of Unfortunate Events, Half-Life, and from what I hear, Lost).

TvTropes. I was just clicking on the random article button over and over again right before Entry 26 came out. It ended up sending me to the Slender Man mythos page, and from there there was a link to Marble Hornets, so I bopped over to YouTube, archive binged the 25 episodes that were up and didn't sleep for a week. I swear, I have a big ol' tree right outside my window and I kept thinking I saw him underneath it.

I recently had surgery and have been spending the past week and a half in bed recovering. I spent hours reading Cracked.com, and there was one topic called 7 freaky urban legends that are actually true (or something like that). I'm all into freaky urban legends, so I read the article, and for amusment, read the comments too.

One of the comments said something to the tune of, the only urban legend that really scares me is the Slender Man. It goes on to say something about protecting your kids, pray to Jesus somesuchnonsense. I had never heard of it, so I looked it up on wikipedia.

For some reason the wikipedia page had been deleted and reposted a bunch of times, and was taken down again. I had never seen that before so I looked deeper (google) and found a reference to MH.

I watched all 50 (at that time) entries and all the totheark vids one after the other, reading the wikidot page of each entry after waching the video. It took me from 6:00 in the evening till the next day, mid afternoon, no breaks. I was blown away.

I finally got up to eat something, and caught sight of myself in the mirror opposite the door to my spare room. I was wearing my black Star Trek pajamas, with the top few buttons undone (the girls like to breathe) and I'm pretty pale. I saw a tall thin shape wearing a black suit with white shirt peeking out, and white face. I proceeded to scream at the top of my lungs and chuck my bowl of Spagetti Os at the mirror.

I broke the mirror and the bowl, and spent the next hour cursing MH while scrubbing tomato sauce out of the rug. I've been a fan ever since.

I first heard about it through Doctor Who, at a watch party during the summer, and a girl at the party said the Silents looked like The Operator, and I asked her what she meant and she said "just a webseries, Marble Hornets. It's pretty scary." or something.

Then, when I was looking online at random stuff when home sick, I somehow stumbled upon the most recent episode (48 at the time) and recognized the title.
I was debating watching it, because I can handle psychological horror but not gore, so I wasn't sure if I should watch this, but I was sick and didn't have anything better to do, so I e-mailed a friend about it (she looks things up for me and tells me if she thinks I can handle it or not, I have been mentally scarred by YT videos before) and I didn't hear back from her for an hour or so. Then she replied back with "You need to watch this! How did you find this?" And so I marathoned all 48 of them all because I didn't have anything else to do. Very glad I did.

A friend on another forum I frequent posted a thread saying, "Has anyone heard of Slenderman?" and they basically talked about the mythos and eventually referenced Marble Hornets. Everyone else in the thread was saying stuff along the lines of, "Oh my God that series is terrifying" and how much they loved it. Naturally, I had to check it out, what with being a sucker for a good horror series and all. There were only 18 entries at the time, I watched all of them and the TTA entries and then read every page dedicated to Slenderman. I was hooked from the word 'go'.

I actually found because I heard that the endermen that were coming out in Minecraft at the time were based on the slenderman, and I did my research from there.

Btw, I still haven't played minecraft since 1.4, anyone know if they got that leveling system useful yet or if it's just there ready to do something.

I hate all of you people who can get your friends into MH. My friends hate it and tell me to stop talking about it.

I hear you, it's not as bad as that, but no one I know cares about MH.

My brother is meme-obsessed and introduced me to slenderman. I was absolutely fascinated and it was a few clicks and the two of us were watching the entries together

It was a matter of time before we spread the gospel to everyone.

Also, Zebez, I have gotten so many people to watch it. Me and my girlfriend have started watching it together and talk theories almost all the time. It's almost become romantic.

I mean, she wrote Jay/Jessica fanfiction dammit.
