I saw LittleKuriboh's Concrete Giraffes, a MH parody. I missed half the jokes the first time I watched it though, and when I saw his "special thanks" to the three main Slenderman web series, I simply looked up the first one he mentioned, Marble Hornets, and it all snowballed from there.

I first heard of MH when my best friend told me about it; I don't even know how long ago. I didn't watch it though because he did a terrible job of describing what it was all about. "Some scary thing on YouTube," thought my brain. "No thanks, I think I'll pass on that."

It wasn't until February 2011 that I heard of it again, on a little-known forum in a completely unrelated corner of the internet. Reading the positive responses of the people on that forum is what got me curious enough to watch it.

I should really listen to my friend more often.

As a side-note, I discovered MH while recovering from both a painful breakup and a nasty injury.

It was exactly the kind of fiction that I needed to immerse myself in to help cope with my life at that point.

I first found it when reading up on Endermen (who were new to Minecraft at the time) and found the knowyourmeme on Slenderman. This quickly lead me to Marble Hornets and I watched all 45 entries that day. I didn't discover totheark until a couple days later.

Oh, I knew about Totheark pretty much right away, because I primarily use the Wiki to watch MH.

I just ignored him for the longest time because the vast majority of his videos were seemingly irrelevant.

I couple of my xbox friends kept saying "slenderman is right behind you" every now and then over the course of a couple months and I was like "wtf are you guys talking about" one day. Then they told me to just watch Marble Hornets and I couldn't sleep for the next couple nights.

I ended up getting into Marble Hornets even more than the people who introduced me to it were.

Re: How did you find MH?
Friends? Creepypasta? Birds?

It was about a week after Entry #46 had been posted. A few of my friends and I were hanging out at my place for the night. We were talking about video games and all of the typical shit that geeks do, but one of us eventually brought up this thing we had all heard of on the internet called The Slender Man.

Getting bored of playing SSBB, I suggested going to the "Shadow's Guide to internet myths" thread on Bungie.net's off-topic forum (which seems to have vanished from Bnet altogether, unfortunately). After reading his article on Slendy, I said "Hmm. I remember hearing about a series with this thing in it..."

We did some research, found Marble Hornets, and watched all of the entries.

I got more into the Mythos than my friends did and started watching a lot of the other vlogs as well.

I found it when someone posted a link on the Silent Hill Forum I'm a member of a few years back. I started watching about 5 entries in. Craziness ensued. It's been a wild ride ever since.

I was watching a Let's Play series (Shamus Young's Spoiler Warning) on Alan Wake, and one of the hosts mentioned Marble Hornets' minimalist horror from season one as a better alternative to the sometimes overwrought scare moments in that game. I was hooked by "Entry #4."

Agnol showed me the TV Tropes page on the Mythos. I actually read JAFool in its entirety before watching MH.

Thumbs up, if you read the Giantbomb post on the slenderman, and it brought you to MH. That's how I found out, I saw tobuscus on youtube originally playing "Slender" the free game. It freaked me out, and so I did "research" to find out more. It finally brought me to the Giantbomb post, and that brought me to MH, then here. . That was a great day!! lol. . love it here, I check the site all the time to see how the [SPEC] is going.

Like I said before, my stepbrother's friend told him about it, and then told me. Then I told my one friend about it, and he told his other friend about it. I just think it's so cool how it chains like that.

It makes me wonder how my stepbrother's friend heard about it, just so I could make out a full path.

I came into the series during the 7 month break between Season 1 and 2. Around August 2010.
