I was going through an HP Lovecraft of reading, and on the Wikipedia page for "Lovecraftian Horror", I saw a reference to Slender Man, and looked it up on Youtube. Found a "documentary" about it. Watched it, but then I had to go to bed. Feeling rebellious, I turned on my 360, and went to the youtube app, and watched the documentary, and looked up Marble Hornets. I proceeded to watch the ENTIRE 1st and 2nd seasons in a night. I did not sleep the next night, and showed my friend in school. That was in Feb of last year, and I joined here after looking up MH forums. Razz

I first learnt about Slender Man on Memebase, where it became popular after the release of "Slender: The Eight Pages". So yeah, summer 2012. I'm so new to this. Embarassed
Then I became interested and investigated about the origins, so I read through the whole SomethingAwful "paranormal images" thread until I saw the posts by "ce gars" with the links to the first entries. Aaaand then I began watching the whole thing and becoming pretty obsessed. I followed the order of the videos with the help of the wiki, and from there I came to Unfiction. I've been lurking the forum since then and registered in November, but only first posted a few days ago Smile

Anyway, I'll always feel that I'm not a "good" MH fan because I've known about it for... what? Half a year? Even though I just can't find the words to describe how much I love it, and there's so much MH in my mind the whole time. And I'm really, really sad I didn't discover this before, because I've only caught up with everything just in time to see it end Crying or Very sad

(BTW, I apologize for any bad English in my post)

Honestly... I can't really remember how I heard about it. I think I was just researching urban legends, when I stumbled across a story called "Dead Bart," about a "lost episode" of The Simpsons where all sorts of unspeakably creepy stuff happens and it scared the crap out of me and then it linked me to stuff about the Slender Man, which in turn lead me to Marble Hornets.

I honestly don't even know anymore, I think off of Starmen.net, but I'm not sure. I do know that after watching a few of the entries for the first time that I didn't get to sleep easily.

I found Slenderman from either TV Tropes or creepypasta, at around the summer of 2011, though it took me a while to decide to make an account here.

During the later part of Summer Break in 2010 I searched "entry" on youtube. I have no idea why I did it, I believe that night I looked up the word and just felt like randomly YouTubing it.

Maybe it was destiny :O. I watched it from the beginning to entry 19, I nearly shit my pants mind you while watching Tim charge at Jay in the house at night. Bear in mind this is at midnight and just my curious self watching it. Also when Tim was ninja crouching by Jay's bed that creeped me out too. By that time I was pretty tired and scared shitless and I finished the other entries later in the week.

Also this was pre-Slendy mainstream era. So I had never heard of Slender Man before in my life. So I had no idea what the hehll was going on and even thought it was real for a while. I then looked up various terms until I found some stuff about Slender Man, got more creeped out and realized he wasn't real... or was he? I had extreme paranoia and hallucinations for the following month or two and even optical illusion encounters.

Kinda creepy story, but around 2 years ago I think? Or early last year, I used to always see someone at the side of my eyes, and when I'd turn around I would see noone, and sometimes in my peripheral vision I did actually see a tall figure, and it was blurry so I couldn't see a face. This was scaring me for real, so I told someone about it and they were like "Omg that reminds me of the slender man!" and I was like "wtf is that" and they showed me Marble Hornets. I thought it was real at first but figured it was fake later. Funnily enough, I don't see the figure anymore...

-I'm actually being serious here-

Just over a year ago, a YouTuber I watch, CGPGrey posted a playlist of some of his favorite videos on the internet. Being bored at the time, I scrolled through the videos until one caught my eye... the Introduction to Marble Hornets. The caption by CGPGrey on the video: "The Internet gives birth to a new monster."

I watched all of the entries within a few days and have been hooked ever since!

First.. Hello Smile been lurking here in the for almost 2 years(?) Very Happy

in the Summer of 2010, there's a youtuber name 'TheLittleFears'
that I used to listened to everyday on heavy repeat while working, and then one time, I just gaze to the 'Suggestion List' and saw 'Introduction by Marble Hornets', I got curious because the thumbnail image seems relaxing and the owner went on the hiatus so I gave it a try... (I have no idea on ARG's or Slenderman at that time)

At first I was like 'Hmmm.. documentaries? oohh a college friend post it on YT... that nice~', the newest video at that time was [Entry ######]. So I was just right on time when J went on the 6-7 months hiatus, at first I don't know what's going on since he went POOF with cliffhanger/ help message video of Alex not until at the end of April where I sat down and analyze the MH vids alongside with TTA vids.

waiting for 6-7 months is really nerve-racking but it really give me a good rest since I've been restless for the whole Season 1[/b]

I wiki walked on TVTropes from "The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy" to its Nightmare Fuel Page to the page on El Hombre Alto. TVTropes told me to start with MH.

Been hooked ever since Entry 01, when He turned and looked at me.

Me, not Alex.

Bricks have been shit.

Anyway, I found this out from the Minecraft Forum. Yep.

There used to be a Slender-mod on there (not the current one, I think) back in 2011.

Found out about MH when Parsec released The Eight Pages. At first, I saw Pewdie's playthrough of the game. In a different LP, I found a comment that said "Check out Marble Hornets", there was also a link of the Introduction video. I checked that out and the rest is history. Been a follower of the mythos ever since.
