I found him on /x/, and a few days later I decided to google him. I cant remember which site it was, but someone had posted Entries 1-10 on some forum, and that's where I found MH.

I then proceeded to get my friend to watch them with me, and, through my influence, my entire group of friends was brought into the mythos.

Now I'm trying to get my followers on Tumblr to watch it, if they haven't already.

Something in the Sea had just ended. That game was the first time I'd been to Unfiction since Perplex City ended, and I was getting back into the ARG spirit, so I went down the list of current Unfiction games looking for something interesting, and found this.

I was just browsing the "currently playing" section of ARGN. Never even heard of Slenderman before that.

My friend who heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend was telling me and my friends about it when we were on a trail in the woods last summer. The next week i was with one of my friends at the beach and we started watching them. unfortunatly we didn't watch them in order because we we didn't think it was really a story, we thought it was just a compilation of videos of people capturing their encounters of the "slender man" on tape. we both thought it was real and spent a lot of time freaking out at night about seeing any tall people in the windows. my friends dad gave us so much crap and said it was stupid. but i wasn't able to sleep for about a month after that. then i watched it again all the way through in order and crapped myself. and couldn't sleep for another month.

I'm a big fan of Emmy Cicierega's art blog, and she'll post her brother's videos sometimes. She posted a link to 'Splendorman' one day, and in order for me to get what they were parodying I clicked the link she had for the real Slenderman videos. I did not sleep for a long while.
Well, at least I was able to understand their parody. x) And now I am into a really super awesome ARG! Smile

And it was really nice, the day I found out about Marble Hornets was the day that he first started tweeting again after the long 7-month absence. Very Happy Hee hee. -stared down with glaring eyes-

I've been lurking Unexplained-Mysteries for years (the main site since '03, the boards since '07), and someone made a thread in the Urban Legends section called "Slenderman is upon us". After a while I figured out that it wasn't a real urban legend. But I thought it sounded somewhat cool so I kept checking up on it every now and then. At some point I found out people had made videos of Slenderman. I watched a couple, but I couldn't understand what a bush in a rainstorm or some guys walking around in a dark old building had to do with Slenderman and I wasn't interested enough to try figuring it out.

Then last January I was bored and ended up reading some more of the thread. Then I found the MH wiki. Then I read the wiki, and thought it actually sounded cool...

And by the end of the day I'd watched the entire series up to that point (most of season 1), as well as a good portion of the 20 dollar videos.

As a side-note: I started lurking UF around the time of "Ethan Haas Was Right" (back when everyone thought it was part of Cloverfield), but never registered until MH.

My girlfriend sent me a link to Entry 26 when it was new. She got it from a friend who got it from a friend and so on.

I then sat down and watched the entire first season (in one sitting... At night... In the dark...) after googling Marble Hornets, finding the wiki and following the suggested viewing order.

Yup, just in time for the 7 month gap.

I was at a park by a forest at night with my friends and one of them kept pointing and yelling: "Look, it's slenderman!" the other would scream and duck. I ask the first one what slenderman was and she said she didn't know, only that the second friend is scared of it.
Second friend then sent me a link over twitter to marble hornets a few days later.
...I watched the first few at night, in bed.
Baaad idea.

I was finishing up Year Zero and I was looking for some scary ARGs, when I noticed someone noting Marble Hornet as "a story, not a game". I was interested, so I googled and here I am.

"Hey Brittany, you like scary stuff, right?" followed by, "Have you ever heard about Marble Hornets? One of the residents showed me it last night..."

We sat down to watch it, in the dark, with her randomly grabbing me throughout so I would get much more scared than I already was. I couldn't sleep that night either.

Just a few weeks ago, I was surfing through TVTropes as I often do and I somehow got linked to the page on the Slenderman Mythos, which linked me to Marble Hornets. I proceeded to watch every video up to now and am now a fan.

I started last year, and it was late april, just after 26 was posted, I was scrolling through the creepy thread on the Escapist website and someone had mentioned slenderman, then they posted a video which was a sort of documentary, it was fucking terrifying as I thought that shit was real! then someone posted marble hornets farther down, entry 1,6 and 11, didn't watch them the first time, came back a week or two later and decided to watch those after having read all the creepypasta and finding a bit more info on slenderman (still didnt quite know if this was some sort of elaborate hoax or a possible reality) when I actually watched the MH videos I started looking through the others and after marathoning that bitch till like 11 at night (started at like 1 in the afternoon on the escapist) and then found out about the whole back story of slendy... I still think there is some sort of faceless entity of the slender variety that lurks in the aether... be him suited or no, slenderman exists on some level
