Aside from Masky being Spiderman or whatever, where on earth did J go? If you run with the mind control theory (Slenderman > Masky) and J blacking out (a.k.a. losing memory but still seemingly physically moved) at the end of 18 and visually on 19, maybe this is our hint at Masky controlling J. Who's to say J isn't off terrorizing someone else? And I'm not understanding the blips on this tape - obviously something's causing the distortion, but one second J's there and the next he's gone. For 3 hours. Where's the transition?

Speculation explosion haha.

Having gone through the video a few time, I can safely say that it is Masky in the Window in the segment just before he appears the first time. While the blinds and light makes it look like there's something out there, none of them clearly show the detail of his eyes except for the one of J sleeping before Masky appears.

My thought process while watching Entry 19

"Ooh a new entry, snap it's already at 15 pages, I'd better check it out... ok... J's room, Slendy is probably hiding somewhere... hmm in the window? Can't really see anything there... haven't seen much of anything so far actually, it's just J slee- OH SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII..."

The bastards always get us like that. Nothing is happening, so you turn the volume up and BAM horrifying distortion.

Those weird "blip" sounds mean something, damnit!

At least now people are taking this phenomenon seriously.

But yes, you have a good point. We pay far too little attention to the wider scope of things, such as where J is going and what he is doing on these ill-remembered expeditions, and like to focus on, say, contesting the identity of the face in "Messages" vehemently.

I'm going to start drawing this sequence of events and thoughts and shit out on my walls soon, to add to the spirit of it.

Okay, let's look at the big picture then. Masky's in J's house, creeping around the room and looking even more bizarre as usual. This causes a shit load of audio and visual distortion. J disappears at some point for three hours with no recollection of the event.

That's the basis of Entry 19, right? Once again, we don't really have much to go with.

A 14 year old boy just peed his pants.

I should have gone before watching that video. Neutral

We don't "know" that Masky is causing the distortion. Could be SM who is not in the scope of the camera

Ok then, let's look at the BASIC picture. Masky found out where J lived (possibly followed J when he drove off after 18 ). He noticed that J was video taping himself, much like Alex was. For whatever reason, he decided to show J that nowhere was safe, not even his own house.

You know, the distortion thing is really fucking hard to pin down. The only trend with audio distortion seems to be that when SM is actually seen, rather than being there, the audio goes to shit. Look at 1/4/6/10. Zero audio, and Alex is pretty much running/hiding from SM the whole time. 13- audio is fine, goes through a small bit of distortion, and then then audio shuts down HOLY SHIT SM RUN. 14, the audio is gone until SM goes off-camera, and presumably vanishes- and the audio is restored.

And then you look at 11 and 17, and there's zero audio distortion. But no one notices SM in those scenes, leading me back to the whole "Dim" thing we discussed oh so long ago.

But then we have entries like 7 and 12, where SM is quite visible and it's pretty clear someone sees him, but we don't really get anything, except for a visual tear and a weird filter effect, respectively.

And with Mask- I mean, god damn. It seems pretty clear that he's causing the distortion in 19, but it's not really consistent with anything- in 18, there's a small bit of audio distortion, but I'm pretty sure that's only when the camera is on the ground, and it's got nothing to do with Mask's presence.

Yeah, that leads me to believe that Masky is perhaps being controlled by Slender Man and is being given his powers of distortion. See, I thought that SM could distort the video and audio whenever he wanted, regardless of whether or not he was on camera. But we do need to look at patterns and the like so we can see what the creators had in mind.

Maybe that's the problem, we don't know what the hell is going through their heads. :l

Maybe there is no underlying dictation behind the distortion? No "Visual distortion always happens here, audio likewise only happens under this circumstance". What if the distortion is just being used by the MH makers.
I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this, but maybe...just maybe...if we can't find a stable rule to it, then there is no rule to it?
