I personally think he/it has some wierd connection to plants, as with the constant motif of trees and such in JAFOOL and MH has lots of trees in it as well. Im not saying he is a plany perse but has something that ties him to the natural world around him.

Don't forget - MH has never once given him a name. Sure, JAFOOL might be calling him out as slenderman, but when MH is over don't be upset if you find out Alex was being stalked by "Mr. Tall Happy Suit Man Guy"

Cause I'll tell you what - I'm SERIOUSLY afraid of Mr. Tall Happy Suit Man Guy. He's DANGEROUS.

D.) All of the above!

But seriously, the things I think he's not are: Man in Black, Contortionist (WTF ahahaha), Demon, Rapist, Murderer or Child molester. I'm also dubious on the angel classifications, though there are some pictures in which he looks angelic, and he does have some properties that could suggest angelic origins. Still...no. Similarly, I think that the hellspawn classification isn't quite accurate. And it's very unlikely that he's just a disfigured man. He has way too many supernatural connections for that.

Beyond that, it's nigh impossible to say what he is. In fact, I don't think that he is anything besides himself, if that makes any sense.

Admittedly, I do like the concept of an experiment gone wrong, but that doesn't seem to fit. Alien seems to be the closest to my view of him, but again, that's just how I see it.

Jeez, Zygotesix, Mr. Happy Tall Suit Man Guys are strange

Meh. I think it's pretty safe to assume that he is the slender man based on MH canon simply because J got inspiration for and started the videos in the thread where SM was created. Sure, he's never actually been called that, but that's because the characters were supposedly oblivious to what was going on. J did, after all, say in his post that the slender man stories jogged his memory of events three years previous. So I think there's a much greater chance that he is supposed to be SM than that he isn't.

I always thought of the slender man as just a malevolent paranormal entity, and nothing more really. Still terrifies the shit outta me.

I'd enjoy the fairy idea. Fairies (the old school ones, not the Disneyfied ones) are bad ass.

Not to mention the terrible jokes that might crop up.

Also good explanation on his shape shifting. Could also be a failed test subject....with the red wall and the bunker-like building seen in a couple of the entries.

the "inner child" episode of fringe contains empaths who resemble SM in a few different ways.

especially his ability to affect the thoughts of others and whatnot.

just an old conversation i had with a friend that turned into a theory to throw onto the unforum. ;P
