You were a kid once, if you can't see him, he can't see you. Those are the rules. ^^

I curse my over-active imagination though regarding the Slender Man. Go figure he'd have such a generic and easily mistaken for silhouette x-x

Slenderman is terrifying because he embodies what you MIGHT see when you go for that double take. You know when you drive past something in your car and it looks like a figure standing there, but you turn and it's nothing but empty air and some bushes?

That's Slenderman.

He's there because you perceive him to be, and in that way he is a very primal human fear to have. He's always there, he's always been there, he always will be there. But if you're not looking for him, he wont find you ANDOHMIGOD I THINK I JUST FIGURED OUT MARBLE HORNETS

So that was Slendy I was hearing on my late night bike rides along the river and it sounded like someone was walking quickly through the dead leaves?! D: That just makes that recollection ten million times more horrific!

So Jay just needs to beat this by calming from panic mode and pretending Slendy's not around anymore? Wink

Pretty much. xD We should advise Jay to put up that big "DON'T PANIC" sign from the Hicthhikers Guide on his door and in his bedroom. A few weeks of that, and playing it cool, and Slendy will be no more!

My first time through MH, Masky scared the ever-loving shit out of me, even moreso than Slendy. For a while I couldn't go to the bathroom at 3AM without freaking out over the possibility of looking down the hallway and seeing him on the couch in the living room (which just so happens to be in a position where one could easily seizure-charge me from it at 9001MPH). 8c

...But now he's just adorable to me for some reason. It's probably because of facebook.

Slendy's still scary though. Just this evening I was helping my mom carry in groceries, and each time I came out I'd look up toward the woods at the top of the hill and think sort of jokingly, "lol, that's where Slendy'd probably be watching from".

...But then I looked toward the end of the street and had a mini heart-attack because I thought I saw a tall silhouette under one of the streetlights. Of course there was nothing there. Gahhh damn you MH.

I'm lucky because my room is in the basement and my only window is right at ground-level. He'd have to get on his hands and knees to watch me from there, lol.

Then again he could always tentacle-strongarm your window open and creep through on a shadow...

Joking, joking!

I don't know if Masky ever scared me so much as that fucking audio sting they chuck into #19. DX It got me more than once, too! His charge in #18 gave me more of a surge of angry than scared, if that makes sense. I may still have shat bricks the first time I watched it, but at the same time the lizard hind brain was thinking "BRING IT!"

All in all, Slendy still reigns supreme in the comparison of who is creepier. It's the real unknown factor, whereas with Masky I get preoccupied wondering who it is: "Who's under the mask?! Take it off, take it off! Surprised"

Masky and Slender are both creepy in their own way.

SM is creepy for the obvious reasons, but for me, its blank face, which is creepy, but because of that he can't show emotions, which is for me, the creepiest part. Apart from the slight leaning of his head, there is no other sign of what he is thinking. When he appears to just stand there in the background, you can't tell why, he could just be curious, or could be planning something.

Where as Masky is creepy because he is human. To have someone we think we know (Tim or Alex etc) but to act so unhuman, the tilting of the head, the watching J sleep, the sitting in a dark house waiting for J to come along etc, makes him creepy.

I'm still trying to work out which creeps me out more, I think SM just gets it.

You'll be fine: Slenderman is too classy to ambush someone who's busy on the can. He's not like today's newfangled shock-tactics monsters!

Masky... god knows, he's less 'creepy' and more 'creeper'!

Masky definitely creeps me out more. And Jay in the Return video. I tend to be frightened more by things with human-esque features than those with no obvious faces at all.

Masky is, or used to be, a human. Probably Tim, or maybe not.

Slenderman is something from the childish fears. I can't explain this creepy feeling, but I'm afraid of him a lot, and not of Masky at all. Now that the 20 $ song seems scary to me just because of SM. xD

Also, totheark's videos with old movies are really creepy. But I doubt he is Masky or Slendy.

Like most people on the internet, Masky's anonymity gives him power. Wake up to some guy creeping on you in your bedroom, it was a rough Saturday. Put a mask on him, and you've got material for your therapist for the next couple decades. Either way, you can still curbstomp the guy.

Slendy drives you mad H.P. Lovecraft style, then kills you or whatever.

Both'll make you piss your pants in a dark ally, but I'll take Masky over Slendy for susceptibility to round-house kicks to the face.

Slendy also has the fact that he hands out electrical shitstorms like candy to go in his favor. That's got to be a brain fryer!

I'm going to throw a scenario out for you guys: Your on a small wooden ship fishing in the middle of the ocean. It's a very calm day. However as your fishing, you feel your boat rock and a tentacle go underwater. Your first thought: squid. Suddenly your ship capsizes and you fall into the ocean. There's one problem: You can't swim. So you quickly fall under the water. What you see there makes your heart stop, you see a huge suit as you keep falling. You look up and see a faceless head staring at you...watching you.

That's why I find Slendy creepier.

I think both definitely have their own distinct creepy factor, but since I discovered this a few weeks ago, I've been more blatantly scared by Masky.

It probably has something to do with the fact that I'm living totally alone for the first time, hahah. I've had roommates in the past, but it's just me now. Yes, Slenderman freaks the hell out of me, and I've done some serious double takes when looking at the skinny trees outside my window, but I can always make myself feel a little bit better by knowing that he's supernatural. It's a paranormal story, and it's fake, you know?

Masky, on the other hand, is a real guy - and that's what makes him scarier to me. He's a real person who breaks into houses and watches J sleep. That completely terrifies me... especially since my alarm system has been on the fritz recently. Sad

I dunno. Again, it might just be that living-alone-for-the-first-time thing, but the idea that some other creeper like Masky could ACTUALLY break into my apartment and watch me sleep makes the whole thing a lot scarier.

Also, I live on the ground floor of my apartment, so my bedroom windows are perfect for staring through. Sad The woods behind my building that I have a great view of don't help matters.

Anyway... ::goes back to lurking::

Had not considered it that way. I remember living in ground floor apartments... I can totally sympathize. D:

(I guess it seems less scary when you're already sleeping two people in a bed, it's not like some dude could creep on both at once, as the other could punch him in the back of the head when he was looking the other direction. XD Slendy on the other hand... how do you know if his head is actually looking forward? For all we know he can 'see' out of all sides of that featureless shape.)
