In algebraic geometry, lemniscate refers to any of several figure-eight or ∞ shaped curves, of which the best known is the Lemniscate of Bernoulli.
The most general visual form for this curve is seen as a toric section of a torus.
It is also sometimes used to refer to the \infty symbol used in mathematics as a symbol for infinity.

 		THX for the graphics, Dawn. The symbol is sometimes called a double ouborous, "a double endlessness or eternity". And Pale Fire, Nabokov's "perfect" novel, is often called "a lemniscate" due to it's structure, symbolism and references within the work

 		So I guess after I went back to sleep, Vanessa went on a posting rampage. She commented on the "Immortal Beloved" wall pic of hers. She also posted her solve to the pawn problem. Uncle J says there are 11 more solutions and we need to find them for her.

 		I managed to figure out one of the other solutions to the pawn problem. I posted a pic of it to my Facebook profile, and I've set it so "Only Friends" can see that album, with Vanessa and Claire blocked (and I never added JPW as a friend). I am not sure whether I am actually supposed to let Vanessa know of the solution or not, so going to point it out to Vlad and go from there.

Edit: Telos, you got an e-mail from Vlad? What was the e-mail address? I don't think he has e-mailed anyone before, and I'm not sure whether we are still supposed to contact him through Facebook or not.

His email address is (or at least was) listed in his FB profile. I've contacted him that way before. I just got home so not logged into FB just yet, but it was there last time I checked.

Is there anything interesting happening astrologically right now? Vlad also mentions "grey-time" in his FB status right now. I wondered if maybe we were close to a switch in signs, but that doesn't seem to happen until Jan. 20/21. *shrug*

I just figured out that if you flip my solution to the pawn problem left-to-right, it is very similar to Vanessa's solution...with her rightmost column moved to become my leftmost column. Similar transpositions of successive columns should also be possible, but be careful that the new solution is indeed unique & not a repeat. Maybe one (or more) of you can play with that while I'm at work today?

Not sure if a solution flipped left-to-right counts as a new solution, too.

Edit: Vlad posted the following comment on my photo of my solution:

Not getting the 7/7/69 part. The only Beatles-related date I can find is that Ringo's birthday is 7/7/40, which would've made him 29 in 1969?

 		Coffee Googled [GPR [no J]:7/7/1969]. Pulled an article about temp. changes in hydrogels (polymers), used in Chronobiology
Vlad appeared sensitive to Photoperiodism. Longer days now so he's singing the "fab four's" Sun tune is my guess.
