You could well be right with the "two sides of the same coin" angle. Many pictures have been posted reversed, either in colour or mirrored. There are references to "split" colours - one image with two halves. And they both seem to want the same thing. Are they the same person in different temporal points?

Dangit, I can't find the message now...didn't Vlad recently say to someone that V can no longer tell what is real and what is sinople?

And with JPW mentioning the looking-glass, it made me think that what is "sinople" is what is through the looking-glass...i.e., not real.

Or...hmm...in optics, the image you see in a mirror is usually referred to as "virtual." (You can get a real image using a concave mirror, but our usual experience is with virtual images.)

But how does this connect to the Vlad/JPW connection, or am I making this all up?

As for the nutjob idea...heh, I was even considering a Jekyll-and-Hyde theory at one point, especially given the way JPW is only around to chat when Vlad is not (Polkaroo!), but I figure that's basically because one PM is running both characters/accounts.

Interesting use of reversed tarot imagary from Vlad tonight. The magician is traditionally seen as an adept, obtaining balance and mastery of the qualities of the suits and channeling energy correctly, hence "as above, so below".

Reversed, the card can be quite different, either representing the polar opposite or a corrupted and untrustworthy version of the standard interpretation.

As with many of the tarot images used so far, this seems to indicate an almost schitzophrenic representation of the major arcana figures. Half cards are chromatically reversed. Sections of cards are removed or highlighted.

Interestingly, this has happened most with figures seen as guarding esoteric knowledge and power. The heirophant, high priestess and magician. All three are often seen as closely linked, even viewed as different aspects of each other during the fool's journey.

I'm not 100% sure of how relevant this is yet, or even the intended readings - seeing as different schools of tarot thought will read cards and links in different ways - but I'll examine this more closely tomorrow if I get time.

I was thinking. What if the caves aren't really a cave, and what JPW sent was a herring? Didn't the Brits have bomb shelters all over the place during WW2? Maybe the 'cave' is really a bomb shelter?
