Hm, sounds like a lot of work for someone as lazy as me Laughing perhaps I'll wait til you guys get sent more info. I much prefer the puzzle solving side of these things, I find the prospect of pretending to be some kind of genetic scientist something a bit daunting, and I always doubt I'd be able to be convincing. Plus living in the UK makes it hard when these things are often set in the US, which means I've no clue about universities and colleges and stuff in the US.

Fun fact. Abstergo is an Italian company, last I checked. So, you could use stuff from the UK and probably sound a lot more convincing than some americans trying to hop in to a company half way across the globe. Razz

Well, the company building in the game is in Italy, yeah, we find that out in AC2 atleast, but I still believe its an american company because everything about its operation + Vidic seem very american.

And, also:
(AC2 spoilers)
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
It may be based in Italy because the Pieces of Eden etc. have a lot of ties to italy, and we find out at the end of AC2 that there is a secret vault built there thousand of years ago, which is more likely a reason for them to be based in Italy, rather than them being an actual italian company.

Though, you're kinda right about the UK thing, I've just never gotten deeply involved in an ARG befoer to the point where I had to pretend to play any character, and pretending to be a scientist seems like a big start. Razz

Both Frank and Vidic both told me in correspondences together that Abstergo is in Italy while talking in character. They also said that while it is in Italy, I would not need to relocate, as my job would be done online.

Well, I was talking about Abstergo in game, I've no idea as to the official-ness of this ARG and if Ubisoft have anything to do with it, but anyway it seems in this ARG that the company is Italian, so point taken.

Still reluctant to try and make a false resume, just feel it'd never be convincing, but being more and more tempted to try and get involved. Razz Perhaps I can try to get in another way, there's other emails to contact regarding the report of sightings of Desmond and stuff, I wonder if they'd bite if I pretended to have info about that or something...

Should be able to get in like that. Just follow suit with the game.

If I were you, since you don't want to come up with some super sciency persona, I would say I was a security guard at like a toll plaza or something.
Use something to the point of :
"I'm a security guard at a toll plaza on <insert>. An attendee at one of the toll booths reported seeing someone who matched the appearance of Subject 17 and Lucy, based off of the warning posters in their booths. After reviewing the security tapes (which have already been posted to Abstergo's main HQ), I have to agree. They were headed <direction> towards the mountains with two others."

Frank'll go along with the tape bit, i mean, he did 'background checks' on us and we passed, so, there's a specific amount of impossible stuff you can get away with for the sake of the game. Remember, you don't even have to say real information. It's not as if anyone's going to physically meet with you Razz

Interesting, and yeah I figured that a certain amount of pretending is necessary on the part of the PM(s), if the player says they sent them something and they say "We never got it" and you say "Well, uh, I sent it?" etc. would be a pretty pointless circle.

I'll think about it and see what I'm comfortable with pretending to be/seen/whatever and see where it goes. One stupid question though ... whats a toll plaza? Laughing

Places on highways and stuff that you pay to drive on, have toll booths/plazas.

Most of them have automated sections where you just toss coins in. Some of them have attendees that take your bills and can provide change. In south florida we have 'Sun Pass' which is an automated system that's prepaid. Most of them have a small building at one end of them for security and an office and such.

Oooh toll booths, I thought that was what you meant because I couldn't think of anything else that was called "toll" anything, just never heard the use of the word plaza to describe them before. Razz

When it's a singular thing, it's a booth. When there's more than one of them together in one spot, it's a plaza, at least how I understand it. Razz

British born and bred, and I've always called them toll booths. Anyway, I'm new to this ARG. I found it while looking around on unforum and by coincidence, I happened to be playing AC2 at the time. The thing is, I'm not really too sure on how to get involved in this. I've solved all of the puzzles ingame, so I may be a good reference for that. However, I've never written a resume before, so I'm going to struggle sending one to Vidic. Could someone help me get involved while it's still on the ground floor?

I'm in the same boat as you, no idea how to write a resume really. Laughing

Maybe its just because it was the weekend but things seem to have gone quiet from them for a couple of days. No one's posted any updates or emails they have recieved here, and I sent off an email from a newly created yahoo to that frank hellum guy, just pretending I had known Desmond (but under a different name) when he was a bartender, just before he dissapeared.
Y'know, just asking what the deal is and why a company of scientists has the authority to call him a "fugitive" etc. I was curious to see if I could get into this without the need to make a resume, or atleast have some form of contact with them before hand. No reply yet though, hope they aren't just ignoring the email. Razz

P.S. I've always called them toll booths too, just never considered if their was a name for a group of them. Oh well, I'll blame the Americans like usual.

Guess I'll just stick with you then, by pretending to know Desmond too. I'll say that I saw someone matching his description getting into a truck and driving away.

Well, they don't seem to be biting on the email I sent anyway. But then it was only yesterday I sent it, and depending what country they live in I suppose time difference could be a reason too. Hopefully faking a resume in what are some pretty complex fields of expertise isn't the only way to get involved here!
