Okay, here's my insane, grand unifying theory of Echo Bazaar.

I'm marking facts with spoilers and leaving speculation bare.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

The Correspondence, which covers the bazaar, is the language of God, among other things. From Scholar Of.
The Masters are described as being "hunched over like birds". From Master Thief, I believe.
There are devils, and the Church is described as being apoplectic about the lack of angels. "You'd think they'd be around". From the Hound of Heaven fate-unlocked follow-up.
Research theologists are writing strange essays about the nature of the masters that are being hushed up - from the opportunity card that membership with God's Editors grants.
The Bazaar's single guiding principle - that which shapes the masters - is the furthering, recording, fostering of love stories. This explains the University murders, the records of Hunter's Keep, and really every single creepy story-line in the game.

What do you call a supernatural entity, attended by servants with certain bird-like qualities, that grants eternal life to those around it and acts solely to maximize the amount of love in the universe?

The servants of the masters are angels.

Now, about Mr. Eaten. Mr Eaten's name is the subject of some mystery! There are two possibilities with it: Either Mr. Eaten's name is simply a poetic concept, and there isn't an actual name for us to learn, as such. It'll simply be some sort of eldritch mind-shredding horror when our characters hit it in game.

Alternately, if it IS an actual name, it has to be something that's meaningful to us from the start. It can't be a regular name, it has to put the narrative into a new context.

Mr. Eaten is associated with "Unnaccountably Peckish", a quality that measures unearthly hunger and unearthly lust. The latter is interesting - it's a sort of hollow love. Another notable source of this quality, in addition to certain cats, is consorting with devils.

So if we consider the Bazaar as a sort of divine being (a strange, horrifying sort of being, if at its heart a coldly benevolent one - like Yeats' beast that slouched towards Bethlehem for its birth.) then Mr. Eaten, who numbered among its servants than cast out, very likely once bore the name of Lucifer.

Mr. Eaten is associated with a sort of cold, hungry handsomeness, too.

Any thoughts?

Maybe mr Eaten is just a stone pig , but one that actually derives pleasure from insanity rather than the rest of the cosmic horrors that lie beneath the master's summer homes.

I tweeted the person who's supposed to be maintaining the list of players but last I checked the list hadn't updated yet. I'm playing as bizzarechos and I set up a second account GrayStovington to play a Clay Man. Speaking of which, any clue how to get my Clay Man out into the rest of the city?

I've skimmed through the echo bazaar wiki and found out that to access the end game content of the underzee you must have 140+ watchful. I didn't know if this was true or just a typo and to those who have nautical transport , how can you get 20+ in watchful items?

I don't yet have that much Watchful, but I'm working on it. The Fate page says that the current limits on qualities is about 120, but that could be outdated. You can increase Watchful in several ways, as I'm sure you've already figured out. It's said that Ladybones Road offers much for the watchful; if you haven't yet, you might take a visit.

Thanks for the help, but using all watchfull items , as well as having maxed out the skill it only adds up to 137 . Semiotic monocle+Patent scrutinizer+insatiable gloves+malevolent monkey+mirror polished shoes+academic gown.
I'm pretty sure I'm missing something but there are already entries on the underzee in the wiki , so it has to be accesible. Maybe with enough side-street items....
But oh well , everyone has to grind at some point....
In any case , since the game has just been updated in my favourite field (espionage) complaning seems out of order for me. I just wish they continue the mirros/tricks/planewalking story.
So far it's just speculation, but if
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
a sorrow spider can move through mirrors

and if the dreams are to be believed ,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
I can't wait to begin taming my own reflection to really be called a master thief

Also , the suspicions that
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
prince albert is kept under the palace cellars are being confirmed by the minute

Sounds like you're much further in the game than I am, so I definitely wouldn't be much help to you, haha. I've almost got my Persuasive to 90, but my Watchful is only 59 right now. As you said, guess I'll get back to my grinding!

ironnikki: well, if you have the time to drop for some tea and fungus crackers i'd be glad to be oblige . My twitter goes by the name of "fallacyengeneer".....i only realize now about the typo but , to hell with it , (it's part of the charm).

Besides I've got a new dilema right now , what to spend my hard earned fate on? I'm at a crossroads between the rubbery murders , flute street or rekindling the acquaintance with auntie.....decision , decisions.

I'm sure that I can find time to stop by and have a chat about the happenings of Fallen London. My twitter account is lafinj. I've been somewhat hoarding my Fate, but I'm sure that I'll soon find something worthwhile to spend it on.

And now another dilema on my consumption vector. The secrets of the intelligence service have such promise on shedding much needed light over the subject of the correspondece but the promiste of danger in the gold-bordered frame calls me like a siren.
In any case , my doubt now lies withing the game's timeline , not exactly when it all happens but how long does it take to get from New Newgate to the endgame in the span of our characters lives. 3 to 5 years seems like theobvious choice but if that is so , then , the leads of all the ambitions would have gone cold very soon. In my oppinion

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Going into prison at the begining is actually the end , all that we do now is reminiszing about our time in the Neath . In other words the story goes : all the actions at the bazaar - the prologue - the ambition - endgame

Update : decided to use my fate to buy a ticket to the rubbery men city

my suspicions were right
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
they are effectivelly ilithid

New character I think, though not yet on MrNames list. @Madame_Shoshana. "Fallen London's foremost clairvoyante. All forms of divination practised. Eery accuracy and uncanniness guaranteed."

Are those typos or Brit spelling?

Necro'ing an old post here, because I found it while searching for something quite different and noticed it was out of place. There are some typos in the above as per British English:

clairvoyante - clairvoyant is the proper spelling, but this may be intentional, for flavour
eery - should be spelt eerie

If the latter especially has not been caught and changed, to date, it really should be.
