So I will share my visit too:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Since I wasn't around when Mr. Wines shared his '68 (was just about 10 minutes late Crying or Very sad ) I decided to give Mr. Sacks my nightmares.
So he took away the complete Menace of Nightmares (level 6 or something) and not just turned it down to level 0.
And I'm a veteran of '88 now too.

Well, all that we know of... That may be the hardest mystery to unravel. New Masters make appearances (e.g. Master Sacks), and I read a tweet somewhere that Masters may take on more than one persona. Hmmmm. The mysteries might be a place where the hive mind could actually make some progress...

I think the tweet you mentioned was to me, and I read it as: 1 guy is puppeting all the Masters and he's not keeping notes.

I just want to throw this idea out there: it's not so much that there are mysteries for the hive mind to solve, but rather that there's a universe for creative players to populate. Push against. Poke and prod.

[edit: i.e., notice the @so-and-so links at the top of some of the storylet windows?]

I get the sense that alot of the new content since the twitter interactions really started going is created on the fly, which is an even further testament, I think, to the quality of the writing "team"? that goes into it.

Oh, totally agree. That's what is making this so fun. Mr_Wines is the patron of poetry? I'll send him haiku. He's becoming a rather Dionysian figure, isn't he? Mr_Sacks and the festivities were wonderful. The snow info messages. Yeah, lots of on the fly creativity. But there are those mysteries... I'd really like the 4th city to be Troy (the horse hints), but since the third city was 'a thousand years ago' I guess not. Anyway... Great fun.

The Bazaar is closed for Hibernation. Sad

The more I think about it, the more I think that the universe -is- the puzzle to solve. Anyway, blah blah blah. The player-character interactions make me laugh at least once a day, even when I'm not involved in the conversations. That's such a win.

I for one am grateful EB is closed for hibernation. I can try to regain my surface life. Happy Holidays, everyone. Smile

I still haven't quite gotten the hang of what's going on so I hope that I won't completely lose interest during a week off. It's been interesting so far.

Oh, definitely. At the very least, I'm pretty sure at least 2 items have been added based purely on twitter interactions.

I suspect there may be a link between Egypt and the Second City, due to similar responses when mentioning them to the masters.

I think we're up to 3: my handsome lad, your brass ring, and didn't someone else get a bottle of wine that reduced nightmares?

Maybe we should start a running list. I was also rethinking the wiki idea, which I still think would be too much work esp for a game in beta, but maybe we should ask for CF status sometime soon: we already have pancito's running list of autorun opp cards and we have several lines of inquiry already to pursue.

For the record, I'm pretty sure it said somewhere that the Fourth City was taken 500 years ago - but bear in mind we're in 1888, so that would be some time in the late 1300s (if we take it as a rough measure).

I'm personally betting on one of the cities being Atlantis. Especially since the First City fell "when Babylon was young" or somesuch. And I agree with dagada about the Second City being Egyptian, and also somewhat of a failure. The only mystery left to me is "since the Bazaar was among stars" or something like that.

EDIT: Hmm, I'm seeing some discrepancy here. The newspaper on the front page is dated February 14th, 1862. We know, from the sidebar entry about how the Bazaar was "stolen" 40 years ago, that this is the case. Yet we have the achievement for Mr Sacks with a year of 1888... shouldn't it be closer to 1902?

On a sidenote, Feb 14th 1862 would have been a Friday, not a Thursday...

Yeah, I think the players are definitely forcing content. Hotwing was given the '68 when he was going on about rummm, and while I know it can't be bought or sold, I'm not sure that was the genesis, though I guess it could have been. Laudanum was created on the basis of a request in the feedback forum. Lex's ring, obviously.

I thought the exit conversation was interesting / intriguing as well, and we are obviously supposed to do something with it. I'll recreate it below, for lurkers and posterity... Just Masters' tweets.

Masters of the Bazaar wrote:
Mr_Wines >> A festive season to you all! We have a bare half-dozen bottles of the '68 left. Who among our delicious children would like one?

[various requests for wine]

Mr_Wines >> Gervaise, throw open the cellar! We are celebrating!

Mr_Wines >> Are all glasses charged? We shall not see an empty vessel!

Mr_Wines >> A toast! To the damned, the drowned, the marked and the mad!

Mr_Wines >> *Pours a little on to the cobbles, in memory of those taken in the sack*

Mr_Wines >> Another toast, delicious children, and then I must be away. Are there any whose glass is empty?

Mr_Wines >> All glasses are charged, and my final toast of the evening:

Mr_Wines >> To the hungry, the wicked, the wise and the sharp. To the dragsmen, the streetwalkers, the roof-walkers, the dippers...
To the keen-eyed, the razor-witted, the barb-tonged and the canny. To the gentlemen, the ladies and those who choose not to be definite...
Here's to you all delicious friends, and to a fine season. Good night!

Mr_Wines >> @Mr_Sacks We will be with you shortly. Business will be done before the hibernation.

Mr_Stones >> @mr_wines @mr_sacks Eleven. Agreed.

Mr_Sacks >> @Mr_Wines For the Bazaar. And all shall be well.

Mr_Fires >> @mr_wines @mr_sacks @mr_stones See you on the other side. Just like old times, hey?

Eleven What?

When I saw that, I thought maybe 11 people ended up in the sack and the others were buying them out. But this is pure speculation.

There are eleven known Masters so far if I counted right.

Mourning the hibernation of my new favorite pastime...

I should activate Twitter notifications on my phone, so that I can respond to prompts in a timely manner. I unfortunately missed out on Mr. Wines' toast. Ah well, I'll just have to wait til next time.
