In Entry 17, Tim asks "who wrote that dialog with you, Alex?" and Alex responds "That was just me. I do all the script for this."
In entry 20 J and Alex are working on script revisions together, and J calls himself the "script supervisor."
Does this seem odd to anyone else?

It's very possible that 20 took place after 17. So it still could be true.

I was just thinking about this, and I don't know. It also feels like, in combination with Tim's coughing fit in Entry 20 that it's possible Tim was also having memory problems.

Yeah, they are talking about script REVISIONS. It could be that they were testing stuff out in 17, and that comment of Tim's made Alex think, and so he got Jay to help him out with revising the script, and having Tim come over to do a read in 20, now that they've got new material.

Or it also could be a joke, and his "supervision" was mainly sitting around watching Tim write, and maybe being on hand if Tim wants to bounce an idea off someone.

I concur with this. I wrote something to this affect along with transcript of the scene in the trailhead page 258: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=665548

It sounds like J is mocking Alex for changing the script, which was brought up previously in e9 at the gazebo. After the 4 secs of AV distortion, J clearly points at Alex during his next line, then Alex comments "everyone's at risk" and it's a "terrifying place". I think that is him being sarcastic back, commenting on the tension on the set.

Yea, Tim looks way worse in 20 then he does in 17.

Yah, I agree that J was joking calling himself the supervisor. In fact, I think it fits in pretty well with the aspect of J originally being the least involved with the production of Marble Hornets (film), and then getting thrust into the leading role of the ARG (or whatever it technically is).

What I'm trying to say, is that it mirrors the structure of a simple greek tragedy. One without greatness has greatness thrust upon them, and goes through a downward spiral until their ultimate demise. my $.02

Just a few theories here. I've lurked for some time, but I'd like to get some feedback.

"Operator" is a recurring theme from totheark. We've seen it both in the titled reply from TTA as well as in the scrambled letters at the beginning of TTA's reply, "Exit."

The next part is just a theory I was talking over with a friend, but it's a fun thought. The first letters of every TTA reply are as follows...

V M S A I D

O P E R A [] [] R

Now, there's plenty of room for interpretation with the other letters, but it's hard to deny repeated appearance of, "Operator." It is with this that I suspect SM may be controlled. Again, I just like playing around with different theories, then comparing them with the entries, J's Twitter, and TTA's replies to check their validity.

Nearly undeniable evidence suggests Tim = Masky = TTA

I'm currently approaching Tim's identity as Masky due to prolonged contact with SM. However, I also want to believe that Masky, like SM, cannot "turn off" his....deformity, if you will. As seen in the interview with Jay+Tim, Tim is obviously not permanently deformed. So, if I still believe that Masky (who's identity remains unknown, according to this theory) is who he is because of extensive SM hauntings, that leaves Brian or Alex as primary candidates. If (a BIG if) this is so, then Tim still plays some part. Perhaps, that is "The Operator." Perhaps, Tim = Masky = TTA = Operator

Bleh. Again, I know a lot of it sounds like bullocks, but there's sense to be found in this mess somewhere. Best way I know of finding it is to start guessing based on what little evidence we have. Cheers.

I wasn't trolling dumbass; I just don't lurk unfiction very often. And I agree trouting has become overused as hell.

Also goes along with the tongue-in-cheek way they're talking about Brian. Good point.

Just a couple of points I'd like to establish here....

First off, it's not cold in June, it's cold if you're Tim. Everyone else is comfortable... Alex is even in shorts (and not at his own house, so he was outside at one point). So it's just Tim (like it was just Jay being cold in entry 17) that's cold.

Also, I believe that the talking about Brian was a tongue in cheek joke. I think that Jay and Alex were teasing Brian, who is actually our silent cameraman in this entry. Just my opinion, but it answers some minor questions (where is Brian, who is running the camera?) and fits with the joking tone that they had.

Also, just a random comment from rewatching 20, I think the "it's a lot of power to give someone like him" and "it's a pretty terrifying place, pretty much everyone's at risk" sounds like it's in reference to Alex being promoted to some kind of manager position at work, or something. It's pretty tongue in cheek... it probably foreshadows something far more meaningful, but I think that's what they're actually talking about.
