... this is very off topic, but I think everyone needs to calm down just a little. It's very early and we've just been thrown a very chaotic entry. and weird,very silly theories are bound to pop up. It's probably best to just ignore them rather than have 8 pages denouncing them and getting angry...

Since tapes can be edited, I'm curious if (who ever left Alex the tape) tampered with the tape, to add the creepy face (I don't see any other way that face could have formed), the random cuts to black (especially during Alex's speech), etc.

I think that time frame wise, this happened three years ago, before Alex gave Jay the tapes. I just don't really feel all the 'this happened last week' vibe that people are putting out there right now.

The references to burning the tapes, the fact that Alex moved away (went home?), the talks of everyone being 'gone' just doesn't feel like it's a recent thing.

Can anyone make heads or tails of the distortion in this video? I'm not really an audio-editing type guy, but the distortion in this one is so distinct compared to the others that I have to wonder if there isn't something more behind it.

Long time lurker first time poster here. I realize this thread is full of random speculation and bizarre theories, but I had a thought that hasn't been expressed so far. In another thread (maybe the trailhead?) someone suggested that the camera operator in entries 9 and 20 was the "operator" referred to so often by TTA. We now know Seth to be that operator, and we also know he was taken by something (Slendy?) in entry 22. Whatever happened to him could have made him into our favorite heavily disturbed youtube user. TTA does happen to know quite a bit about taking and editing video. Entry 22 could be an origin story of sorts for TTA.

It's not really an answer... but it could be something to consider.

The thing to remember is that in the same breath as Alex talks about Seth being 'gone', he also says that Tim, Jay, Sarah, and Brian are all also 'gone', so there's no real reason to think that anything happened to Seth that didn't happen to them.

I'm not saying he's not the operator, or TTA, or whatever, but we all need to remember that nothing in this entry really sets him apart from the others. From the sounds of things, the others were all 'taken' in a similar fashion, and any of them (or all of them) could be TTA/Masky/Operator.

Just something to keep in mind as we all rabidly speculate like crazy folk until the next entry comes up and blows all our theories out of the water.

When Alex is talking about him and Seth being "The only ones left" Maybe he means the only ones that remember what happened ALL through filming?

Well, if Alex was thinking of the MH group (himself, Seth, Brian, Tim, Sarah and Jay) as somehow being in this together, and everyone else was 'gone', then at the beginning of the tape, himself (Alex) and Seth would have been the only ones left, basically, out of that group (the others have 'gone' remember).

I think he was using slightly ambiguous tense (as in, he was speaking in the present tense when he meant a past tense-- obviously Seth isn't 'left' if he's been taken as well) and meant that "Seth and I were the only ones left, and now he's gone" kind of a thing.
