I have always personally thought this too. Except that Slendy has always been stalking Alex, only Alex never remembered it because he lost his memory of the encounters. When he came back home to film the movie, he actually had the tapes that showed the encounters he wouldn't have even known about otherwise. Thus, he started recording everything he did in case he blacked out and needed to see what happened.

THAT would be AMAZING.
Absolutely amazing, I really really hope this is the case. Makes the whole story feel so much "bigger" and spookier.

 		I've just had an idea whilst reading through page 16 [so I don't know if it's already been said] but:

We've never heard of Seth before, and Alex says 'I thought I could run away.'
Is it possible that Alex came back with Seth to see if it was still happening, took Seth to the place in entry #13 [because that's where he actually saw SM upclose,] found that the place was unlocked and went in? This would also explain why he says about burning the tapes, like he's going to try and track down J and insist he does it - or maybe he's already tried to track down everyone, but they're 'gone'? [at least, moved, anyway]

Just a thought

I've sent J a message on tubeyou and twitter to see if he's thought about digging through old home video's of Alex, and to see if SM's been stalking him for longer than they thought. In my mind right now is that party scene from signs..
Anyway, no reply as of yet.

Personally, I don't think it works.
I mean, when Alex first seeing Slendy in the camera, he seemed freaked out. Not like "Oh, it's back again...fucking hell!" but more like "What the fuck is that?!". Yeah, the whole memoryloss thing could account for that, but, I really don't think it fits here. There's nothing so far saying that he had these issues. It seems based on how everyone acts about his changes and such, that this only started happening during the Marble Hornets filming, and not in his childhood.

Really, I think if slendy was following him since he was a child, he would have some recollection of it. Some picture, some shit from his childhood that didn't line up. But from what we know - there's nothing out of place. Everything was 'normal' until they started filming MH.

Until Masky showed up, it doesn't seem anything went 'missing', so it's not as if he did all sorts of drawings and such and had them stolen or something. As far as I know, Masky has only been a problem with Jay and not Alex. Considering Alex filmed himself almost 24/7, I think we would have seen Masky already. Unless of course he stole the footage, but, then why not steal Jay's?

Personally, I think he may still be filming himself. Unless he got away from Slendy and hasn't had an issue with him in the three years and just recently stopped.

I don't think Slendy killed him or 'wiped his mind' or anything. He may have had a total mental breakdown, though.

My question is, where are the parents? I know they're college kids and all, but like.. You can't tell me that unless he had a horrible relationship with them and never talked - that they wouldn't have noticed something was wrong.

Possibly. Iunno. It's just something I think of when there's shit happening to teens and college students. I mean, it's like adults don't exist in half of these. Neverland, anyone?

Any way, i know if I was being stalked and going mad, I'd at least send my mom a letter. "Hey mom, not coming home for Christmas. Being stalked by the spawn of a Men in Black agent and a Stretch Armstrong doll. Slightly of my rocker. Thanks for the sweater - even though it was the same you sent me last year. PS. HE COMES."

 		J could still make a twitter update saying "Was away holiday-ing, family thinks I'm nuts." or something of the sort.

A few of my friends and I were actually discussing what the Marble Hornet characters would ask Santa for for Christmas. My favourite was totheark: "Dear Santa, please bring me a new camera so I can screw with J in 1080p."

on another note, we don't see much of alex, except what jay wants us to see.

who's to say he never chatted with mum about the mysterious man following him around?

maybe it just wasn't important at the time jay saw it, if it happened at all.
i wouldn't blame him for forgetting something like that with all the shit that's been down recently with him.
