I know what the debate is, I was asking one certain person since he asked if since Slendy acts different in this, is it not Slendy at all?
I was being sarcastic anyway. Sorry if I was misleading.

Feel free to add to this list.
WRONG. Victor Surge, the guy who MADE Slenderman said that he doesn't like to be seen. Plus, Slenderman attacks tons of people that don't know about him.

Not quite, on both accounts. If I recall correctly, Slenderman may not want to be seen, but one thing I remember from the earlier myths (I remember it because it's a detail that I particularly liked) was that, if you see him, you'll probably be his victim (as in, once you know he's there it's already too late). Maybe a nice mixture of both ideas, he doesn't wan't to be recognized and hence he kills those that see him? Or maybe, as a good predator, he only reveals himself when the time is correct? And take the "creator of Slenderman" title for what it's worth: Even if he came up with the original idea, it's been dozens of people adding to the myths and shaping the creature into the form we all know and love.
Either way, I could of course be wrong. I didn't read the whole SA thread, after about 40 pages and when people started inventing stories about japanese secret organizations hunting the Slenderman and linking him to prehistoric myths of werewolf vampires from Mars I decided to cut the losses and forget about the remaining seventy billion pages. A shame too, the images were quite good.

Wut. Yeah, looking back there does seem to be a mix of the "he doesn't want to be seen" and the "he attacks people if they know about him"
I still think he can attack anyone though. I had more of a beef with that then anything else. Like, he'll attack people that know about him more often, but he will get ANYONE.

He wasn't the creator of slenderman he was just the one who manifested him.
Slenderman is just a combination of primal human fears:
Having to combat (in a way) something that is bigger than you.
Being watched against your will.
Death (as many encounters end)
Having no control of a situation (terrifying if it's life or death ie. car crash)
Supernatural (he's better than you and you know it)

"the one who manifested him"
Oh come off it, don't act like he's real in an out of character thread man. :p
I was a bit arrogant though, I admit it.
As for me, Slendy is a combination of "oh god why is it standing so still", "uncanny valley" and a fear of spiders.

I like that Marble Hornets ISN'T using the tentacle schtick for Slendy in their videos. They just seem over the top to me. The closer he looks to human, but with the unfinished human features and odd height, the more frightening he seems. If they were to try to add tentacles it'd throw the series into cheese-ville.

I knew it could oustretch its limbs as if they were tentacles, not that it has tentacles...

Also, I loving LOVE the tentacled look (even though I often draw him as humanoid)
Seriously...a bunch of spiderlike, dangling limbs rising above his shoulders...tapping against the ground so very quietly, Slendy hanging like a doll as the things move for him. It reminds me of a spider, but...peaceful.

I think that would make a fantastic surreal video in and of itself, but I think it would be out of place in MH.
Maybe if somebody wants to go to Japan to study their surreal videos and then make something...? XD
