But wasn't Entry 2 about Alex telling of his first encounter with Slendy? Anyway it could be possible that SM was awakened (by Alex and/or Brian) by something about the MH project. Maybe a fire in some special place (near the red tower?). As there was something about the fire, and the painting too...
Also, the dog. In Entry 2 Alex said he was taking Rocky for a walk. But the dog wasn't ever seen. What happened to it, I wonder.

There's speculation that while in #2 Alex seems actively aware that Slendy is a really creepy guy, #11 is more likely the very first encounter because nobody recognizes him at all.

Then again, chances are that Slendy had been watching them for some time -- they're getting distortion in the location scouting tapes, and #17 and #20 seem to happen before even the location scouting... so chances are that Slendy only made himself visible to everyone when they'd started filming. o.o

That's assuming that the entries are in that chronological order though! Can't wait for Aja's thoughts on the chronological order of everything!

 		Well, I'm waiting for the chronology so much too, as it seems I can't figure out something about the order.

Slendy himself wasn't in #20 though, but there was the script and the painting. Some of these may have caused the distortion. Also, Alex says "It's a terrifying place" - maybe he had seen something unusual there already?

 		It's possible! I keep thinking that they're running with the 'thinking of him makes Slendy real' schtick that I've heard before and the script helped him coalesce somehow. Doesn't really explain why Tim's a cough-bag of camera distortion that early on, though!

 		I'm a lot less terrified now that I've been exposed to the silly facebook pseudo-RPing and other crack stuff, but I find that if I watch the series again it still gets me paranoid. D:

It could be some sort of background noise (probably is), but the "tss" sounds very human-ish to me, quite literally like someone saying "its" but with the "i" cut off. The first two "Tss Alex" sounds are heavy with background static, but the third one really, really sounds like someone speaking to me. Tss odd Razz.

And it wouldn't necessarily make TTA Alex. It could be meaning something more like "It's his Alex's fault" or somesuch *shrug*. Still, fun to have found something Smile.


Speaking of which, while I was watching the totheark videos, I hit the Admission video. I noticed two things. First, the sound of the cabinet/door opening is quite similar to that of Jay's door in Entry #24 (not like that means much, it's a door).

What I found more interesting was, at the end of the video, it distorts like in Entry #24 when Jay is in bed just before teleporting. I haven't rewatched the whole series in awhile, but I think that that's the only time that particular kind of distortion has happened, and both are related to doors.

'm so glad I finally found this forum. I found out about Marble Hornets about 2 weeks ago. I had never heard of an ARG before. I watched the intro and was curious. I watched Entry 1 and was instantly hooked. I thought it was just a creepy set of videos that I stumbled on. Little did I know, it's so much more than that. Due to the fact that I watched assuming it was just a complete set of videos, I was just watching to enjoy.

I haven't read through a lot of this forum yet, but is there somewhere specifically I can look that sums up most of the speculations?

Also, I've found this timeline helpful. Thanks!!

 		Halfricanapo, your best bet is probably to find the individual entry/TTA response threads and read through the first couple of pages of each... I don't think we've gathered all of the spec together unless you want to look at the wiki page!

Many people speculate that it's the initials of Alex Kralie, I'm not exactly sure if his middle name is R but chances are that it is :/ that's my guess at least

Actually, ARK does NOT stand for Alex R. Kralie because J specifically stated that Alex's middle name did not begin with an R. That line of speculation is old and false.

Probably extremely significant. Need to wait on more evidence to see whether or not this becomes a pattern though.


What about Return? Everyone forgets about that video.

Also, once someone messaged J and asked what Alex's middle name was. J replied that he didn't know.

I don't think that it was a dismissal of the theory, though. J has been known to be vague about things before. Someone back then made a very good point that it added a bit of immersion in the game, as most people don't know one anothers' middle names.

 		D'oh, yeah, I forgot about Return. I guess #23 is the only time that Jay's allowed to get away with evidence that he's had a direct confrontation with Slendy; he wouldn't know about Return if it weren't for the extreme generosity of our friend TTA.

So it's likely that Jay's probably had passing confrontations, at the least, with Slendy in the past. I suppose that what is important in this case, then, is that we're seeing Slendy giving Jay a good looking over in #23, whereas in Return Slendy doesn't seem to notice that Jay is even nearby.
