Eh...probably not, but speculation is what these threads are for.


All of jay's dirty dishes eventually built up until it crushed the dish washer and exploded.

I thought the report said the lady heard the fire and went to it rather then it starting in her apartment.

As for motive Slendys very first appearance was him burning down a building that held evidence of his existence so im leaning towards slendy

This is probably entirely useless as a comment, and assumed already, but since I didn't notice anyone else mentioning it, I'll proceed.

TTA being the web-savvy creature he is, he must certainly be aware that Jay is NOT at home--I include the time when the fire began. Ergo--this is clearly not a murder attempt. Even if TTA (we assume) were not requiring Jay to lead him to the Ark, this would be true; he could not have missed Jay's tweets.

So I would assume that the fire had other purposes; as Dray mentioned, this is burning Jay's bridges back home (so to speak), for one thing. Also, it could be that the arsonist (as we assume, I think, that this is no coincidence, despite the 'woman with the towel') wanted to destroy some sort of evidence, such as the pile of Alex's tapes, Jay's other equipment, etc. Is it possible that Jay's apt had something that Jay did not suspect to be important, but that Masky needed? Perhaps (I doubt it, but just perhaps) they wanted J to get out of the way so Masky could access this other thing. . .I really don't think so, but just --whatever. . .

The guys did a nice job of doctoring up the found footage of the news report. I am having trouble playing the new Entry smoothly, and anyway think it would be of use to get some screen grabs of the surmised Slender sightings in Entry #25; anyone want to provide these to the community? I have not been able to make out anything like a SM image or the 'door' that has been commented on, though I've tried many times. Think I need a newer computer!

Are we, also, assuming that the 'new footage' of the crowd watching a fire was made by the MH people, instead of more archive footage? The fire looks good to me, and the stream of water. But it seems the new footage shows a much taller building than the news footage we have seen on YT. Odd!

 		The warp door seemed as though it could have been pretty damned important. If TTA is our arsonist, he could have been shooing Jay away hurriedly from the house so he could torch the mofo before Slendy could really start to nest? There is of course all of the other speculation about what TTA had in mind, but if he wasn't responsible for the warping (say, in #23 he was showing Jay what warping leads to --> a close-up-and-personal with Slendy) and then realize that Jay's own house was turning into something similar to Brian's place, not only would burning the place down keep Slendy confined roughly to where TTA is familiar with, but it keeps Jay on his toes.

...And it seems to me that TTA is the kind of guy that would murder an entire flock of birds with half a stone, if he got the chance. It's artithtic geniuth, don't you know?

As for the footage of the night-time blaze, that seems to me more like another chunk of news footage that was subbed in -- nobody's found it yet, but that doesn't mean that it was made by the crew! (I still can't imagine them lighting a building on fire for this. XD As awesome as that would be...)

It says she heard the fire in her bedroom...which is true, a little more odd than a kitchen fire, but it still could be anything; a candle, area heater...

BUT

this does raise a point as to what floor Jay may be living on...maybe he was directly underneath this apartment, and it started in his bedroom, leading it to be first noticed by the woman above...

but again, it's still just stretching and an easy inconsistency they could have altered..

Isn't it known that Totheark (I used to pronounce it Thoth-e-ark, before digging around here.) is on twitter, and is following Jay?

I believe that the consensus is that the totheark at Twitter is not really part of the Marble Hornets game; right? Nevertheless, I have requested to follow the account. .

I imagine that's right, as the fire looks really good, and we've never seen so many extras in the Entries before; however, many have stated that they see Slender Man in the footage. I can't see him so far myself, nor the door that has been noted, but maybe. . .I'll try later on another computer, unless someone does screen captures of the sightings. . .

There was a fire in Brimmingham, Alabama not too long ago, thats the place near the Red Tower, they said it was an apartment fire. They could have possibly put up a Slendy prop and told everyone to ignore it or something. idk

I also requested to follow and got no response. I just assumed that the name had been camped by the MH creators to prevent gamejacks.

 		Aye, it's all but confirmed that the totheark Twitter account is being used to prevent gamejacks, as well as to "reserve" it should they ever wish to use it at a later date.

 		I'm going to assume it was Slender Man whom burned down Jay's house. Mainly because of the mythos behind Slender Man:

That first one is a better picture, mainly because it's a bit more mysterious than the second, but my point still stands. Slender Man is associated with fire, is he not? o_o I don't think it would have been ToTheArk who burned down Jay's house if Slender Man is perfectly capable of doing it himself.

Granted, now that I'm posting on the Unfiction forums, I've got to realize that anything is possible and to QUESTION EVERYTHING RELATED TO THIS ARG. <.<

 		Ha ha, I just had a notion: what if this episode is not necessarily related to the weaving of the story? Instead, the guys in charge just thought, 'dude, we need some more fire involved because it was featured a lot in the original submissions... let's have Jay's home torched! Very Happy'

I joke, I joke.

I'm not ruling out TTA as the firebug, though there's a great case for Slendy doing it. He seems to do all of his dirty business without getting caught in the act. This might be a good case for it. And he was there, or at least nearby, so he was involved in some manner or another. Whether the fire starter or an onlooker, he was lurking!
