Slender Man is an almost perfect blend of natural and supernatural.

Like... an alien and a ghost put together (assuming aliens = natural). That's fucked. He's an alien in the sense that he's fascinated with humans and killing them to observe how they operate (HA!) is much like an alien would do, one would think.

But he's ghost-like (or paranormal) in the sense that, if we take what SticktheFigure said, just THINKING about him summons him. That alone is pretty paranormal and supernatural, wouldn't you say? But also the fact that his appearances are almost--ALMOST--always tied to the camera being distorted. But as we've seen in Entry 26, this isn't the case.

You could say that because Slender Man's intentions and just its whole being is unpredictable that it's supernatural. You can explain some things it does... but not everything.

Slender Man has inspired me to make my OWN mysterious creature. Actually, two. Based solely on that premise: natural and supernatural.

Anyways. My thoughts on the enigma that is Slender Man. </fanboyism>

I'll make another post with my theories on this whole thing. Guest1337 (nice name) has some good theories. Mine are going to be about Entry 26 and the footage.

Back on topic. THEORY TIME!

If it was TTA and he's pretty much Slender Man's lackey, he probably found Alex's house, planted the camera with the tape in it (or planted the tape in the existing camera), put it somewhere where Amy could find it. WHY? I don't know. But I'm assuming he was there with Slender Man when he "attacked" Alex and Amy. That return address. If it was TTA, why bother posting it? Unless he wants Jay for some other sinister reason. He's using Alex as bait to get to Jay.

Which is ironic, because I once thought TTA was using Jay as bait to get to Slender Man...

TTA clearly cannot be trusted. He knew Jay was on the run. Then he told him to go home. Which he didn't. And he burned down his house. That fire WAS meant for Jay and he knows it. When TTA (still assuming TTA sent the tape) asked Jay for "HELP (X)," Jay assumed it was from Alex and went off to go look for him. But if he follows what TTA wants of him, which is to help Alex... he's falling right into a trap.

But knowing TTA? If Jay doesn't help Alex, Tim will kill him. That's my theory.

I somehow -just- noticed that Seth is in Entry #12.

He walks in front of the camera for a moment and Alex says his name and everything. I somehow never noticed this and had no idea that he was in anything other than #9 and #22 (and #20, presumably).

Why isn't he attracted to jays camera then? Its not like he hasnt gone running around with it. The only time Jay catches slendy himself is at the end of 23 (i think) and that seems almost accidental to me. At the beginning of 26 it shows Jay peeking out his windows with his camera. Hell he even filmed himself for a couple of months and the only thing worth sharing was masky (whos the bomb by the way)

The camera that Jay used to film Slendy in #23 was destroyed. It could be that, since the other cameras didn't catch evidence in the same way, they weren't beacons?

Or, it could be that Slendy really is only interested in Alex right now. Even when TTA/Masky do his/their damnedest to lure Jay into Slendy's lair (twice!) our faceless friend once ignores him completely (#19 and Return), then peers at him curiously (#23) before Jay wakes up with a brain-melter in his own home.

On the other hand, this sounds remarkably similar to what happened to Alex after the events filmed in #22.

So it could be that Alex is simply Slendy's top priority right now, but that Jay is up on the docket. That could be why the 'HELP (X)' was a trap: this way, Slendy can have them both in the same place at the same time to eat/destroy/mangle horribly at once.

Who knows. I'm starting to think more and more that Masky is working for Slendy. I hope that that's not the case... I hope that Masky/TTA is more of a third party whose intentions can remain iffy (either swinging for one side or another) up to the very end (assuming that this picks up again. XD) rather than him being an actual minion. But it does seem like Masky is doing Slendy's dirty work for Jay, and if that Skully mask is a prototype, and actually was caught on one of Alex's (or Seth's) taping expeditions, then he could have been helping Slendy do his stalking and bringing of victims back and forth three years ago, too!

I just got to watch the latest entry today. Neat.

Regarding the discussion about who sent J the tape: It can't be Alex. Leaving the contents of the tape aside, what was so peculiar about it? That he received it in the first place! He's been changing locations on a regular basis for the past few days, didn't want to be followed, so probably didn't leave contact adresses, either.

Whatever else that tape may be, it's also clearly a "You can run, but You can't hide" message.

These food for thought tidbits have been mulled quite thoroughly throughout the game discussion threads. Unfortunately, I don't think that we managed to come to a conclusion about what they all meant!
