He might be checking his YouTube inbox. I'm not 100% sure what it does when you check it, but I have a feeling it updates the "last visit" date.

Makes sense IG. J has only been accessible via YouTube, and he might be checking for a response from Alex or ToTheArk. Also, it lets us know that J hasn't gone the way of Ted the Caver (well, the credits did that, but it gives us a strictly IG way of monitoring his status).

Oh man I'm looking forward to Season Two. It will be fun to endlessly speculate on Marble Hornets again.

umm hello a few days ago a friend told me to look up marble hornets so I did and have watched every entry and totheark video.

So I followed it to the wiki then to here so now I only have one question... what do I do? I see that this a game sight and yet I can't seem to want to try to join any of the activities that are happening here and just want to sit back and watchmore about the marble hornet and the mysterious figure known as the slender man.

Marble Hornets is on a break right now, the guys making it announced as much (but didn't give us an idea of when it would be back.) About the only thing to do right now is to check out the side stories (Every Man Hybrid is good, and isn't too close to being finished yet. Seeking Truth is also good but seems to be getting pretty close to being done!)

Luckily, you got to see everything in order. If you haven't, checking out the Marble Hornets twitter page might fill in some blank spaces.

Y'know... watching some of the non-slender-related entries again, I've been thinking about the actual film "Marble Hornets". One thing that's struck me is that Alex uses so much tape. I'm not an expert on current tape capacity, nor the tape capacity of 2006, but it seems like an unreasonable way to keep oneself under constant surveillance to me. Much more affordable to buy an external hard drive and a few gigabyte+ memory cards to keep the camera running while you're out and about, then just load everything onto the hard drive. Hell, when you're at home and within wifi-distance or cable distance, just record directly to the hard drive. Just a thought.

(I had to concentrate to not type "wifin-distance")

At first i thought that it was just Alex and the crew of MarbleHornets scaring the shit out of Jay, much like EMH, but i guess i was wrong...dead wrong.

well I guess I can wait through those side stories do look...cool as in creepy.

I also wonder why Alex only used film for his movie and all his cameras ,but seeing that sound distortion happens to camereas and other recording devices when ever the slender man approaches its more of a warning.

The problem is that we never see anybody react to the distortion (audio or visual) while they're holding the camera. It's only after Jay uploads content that he points these things out. It could be that by the time a person is hearing or seeing distortion in their recording, it's already far too late. Slender Man will have already been there, messing up your memory. So the recording would be more of a reassurance after the fact than a warning beforehand. Less Silent Hill radio and more... I don't know, reminder of when you've lost your mind and potentially what happened.

hmm well if the distortion happens after it was film when they watch it then I guess that it may not be helpful. The memory loss I'm still confused about. Is it somesort of effect the slenderman has on people when their too close?

And the last entry that came out 26 is the one that has the slenderman the most violent as in walking torwards them in a fearful manner up close. I

The solution you suggested is a good one - and it's the one J had implemented in his bedroom. It would have been a good idea for Alex to upgrade his system, but things got bad too quickly for him to adapt. He probably had the hand-held camera for personal use, and began using it full-time when things got intense.

The tape looks like a DVC tape (Entry 3), which have a standard 60 minute capacity. In order to tape himself 24/7, Alex would have to use 24 tapes per day (and not sleep). One month of filming is the equivalent of 720 tapes - which is probably slightly over the amount that would be unlikely for J to get through. I imagine he has about 500 tapes (21 days worth of footage). Actually, this seems pretty consistent with the MH timeline and J's ability to get through the tapes.

It's interesting...Entry 14 says that 32 minutes pass on the tape before Alex changes it. So Alex was awake in his room for less than half an hour before the attack. The camera seems to be moving slightly when SM enters the room, which indicates to me that Alex was still awake and manually filming the event.

Did we ever try to dissect why a film about coming home is called Marble Hornets? I'm sure it's a dead end lead, but you never know.

I remember reading on here or possibly on the MHwiki that it refers to a conversation in the movie, where the guy coming back home is remembering a set of marble hornet figurines that his parents used to have, or something like that.

In fact, now that I'm thinking about it, why did Jay name the channel "Marble Hornets"? All I can think is he named it before he looked through the tapes and was planning on editing the movie together into a coherent fashion and uploading it to youtube, maybe?

Sorry to go off topic here, but I just read through the "Ted the Caver" journal and I hope to god that MH doesn't do this...I don't think they will but if by some chance they did...well...I would...I would...I WOULD DO SOMETHING!

Take their kittens and puppies away from them forevar, maybe?

I'm willing to give it a full year of waiting time, but if they left us hanging specifically with "PART I OF X# of PARTS IS OVER, FOLKS! STAY TUNED!" and then don't do anything... I will be a saaaad panda.
