So how long do we speculate about this shit before we have to take ourselves by the nutsacks and admit defeat? I sincerely hope that we'll see more MH fun, but Jay's text in 23 sounds painfully like, "Fuck this, I don't want to do it anymore." Not that I can blame him much. We've all started projects that we were simply not interested in completing. Just, most of haven't done it with so many people watching. Although, some of you may remember Stephen King's serialized web-novel from a couple years back. Anybody remember how that ended? Well, uh... kinda like this, actually.

It's only been a couple of days. I think I'll give it about the same amount of time as it takes between posts or tweets or whatever. X3 Lurking, if nothing else.

I had thought that too...but you see his face in 1, 4 and 6 pretty close up. I dunno, maybe I'm looking too much into it.

Could be that the distortion comes compliments of a reaction to Slendy's state of mind, rather than his simple proximity?

In the videos of him that we see don't have that much distortion, he could be fairly calm, for whatever reason. In the ones that are spazzing out, they could be reflecting his various levels of ape-shitness.

Perhaps seeing Jay teleporting into the basement scared the crap out of Slendy also. XD "WHY DO YOU BRING FLASHLIGHT I DIDN'T PUT MY GOOD FACE ON YOU NAVE!" *breaks things*

Why thank you. I worked fairly hard on it. =P

I still don't think they'll end it like this, although as half-assed as it looks, it COULD end like this, maybe with one more totheark response. I still think totheark's going to respond, because it just doesn't fit his profile to just go "okay, Jay doesn't want to anymore, I'm gonna leave him alone now."

I think we're gonna either receive a totheark response which delivers an astounding new lead that Jay can't ignore, or something is going to happen to Jay. My guess, is he'll catch Slendy on camera whilst filming himself in his room (possibly lurking outside, or even hovering over his bed), and he'll realize he's too far in, and can't get out now.

I've had that theory for a while, actually, so I agree. :v

BaronVonCakeman's theory is pretty beastly, though the way I'm understanding it it means Seth just kind of appeared offering to help and isn't really 'a friend'? It would sort of make sense, considering Seth's barely been mentioned at all.

as far as we know though, it is possible to get out. We can only assume that Alex is no longer being stalked by slendy. I've been thinking the same thing about the next TTA response, that may change the whole thing.

That sounded like Alex saying "Seth?" though, not that deep voice.

Ghost, echo, Slendy parroting, time warp or simple abduction, Alex is still involved somehow.

There is STILL one room that Jay has not been inside in the house. This is the room closest to the bathroom on the 2nd floor. Regardless of whether this theory is true or not, I believe this to be totheark's room. It was locked, and he never bothered trying it again after the first room was unlocked. The second door in the second room was also never opened, but I believe it to be a closet or something, as there probably wouldn't be a bedroom connected to another bedroom.

The rooms that were locked in entry #16 are the ones used for warping in entry #23 (the door blocked by the red shelf in #16 is the one with the untidy mattress and the operator symbol on top of the door, the second blocked door in #16 is the one with the pills and were Masky hid)....
Jay entered almost all rooms, except some closets and some baths I think...

The room you are speaking off is the one where he gets the pills in #16 (and bullet casing I think), it's the room lit by Jay's flashlight when he zooms in the top of the stairs (when he is at the bottom of them).

Hmm, I thought the room he got the pills from in Entry #16 was the room that had its own bathroom in it? Oh well, if it's not that room, then the room with the big window with blinds is totheark's room, because I'm certain he films out that window in Impurity.

sorry if this has been mentioned.

After this recent entry, I am thinking more and more that it's likely the house plays a big role in the scheme of MH.

There was always that mysterious hallway etc, and now, with all these odd happenings in the latest entry I think it's pretty likely that the house plays some big role.

Also, Jay finds himself in the closet, he exits.

Upon entering the room opposite to the closet, the camera blacks and, and Jay ends up in what I'll say looks like a sort of 'Hell' version of the house like someone mentioned before. Assuming Slendy is malicious, this might as well be his 'Lair' or something.

I think there is a portal or some weird thing going on at that house.

now that i think of it, if ye take the "basement" to be an alternate version of the house, it's almost a direct copy of the silent hill dark world

also, i'm finding silent hill 2 way creepier...
[than the first SH]

though that might be because i know i'm right at the point of the first pyramid head "fight" and i have but have no idea as to what triggers it

GnomonRose, I went through that anagram list and only one really seriously popped out at me.

"Hamlets Reborn"

If my memory serves me right, everyone dies in Hamlet.

Close. Only one semi-major character lives, Hamlet's (best) friend Horatio. Horatio doesn't actually have much of a role in the story, except at the very end when everyone is dead or dying. What role does he have, you ask? Horatio tries to poison himself to join Hamlet and the others in death, but Hamlet stops him. The ensuing passage:

"If thou didst ever hold me in thy heart, / Absent thee from felicity a while, / And in this harsh world draw thy breath in pain / To tell my story."

Entry 22. "Everyone is gone." Alex gives his videos to his friend Jay. "Hamlet is reborn"?

Masky = Alex "reborn"? Awesome implications if this is even vaguely correct.

On a semi-related note: I hate the idea of anyone in the videos actually trying to summon SM or anything like that. It makes Slenderman seem like a pawn in someone else's game. It's a whole lot creepier, in my opinion, if they just unknowingly awakened from eldritch horror from the dark corners of mankind's collective memory, and now it's hunting them. I don't think Masky is working with Slenderman so much as he wants Jay to find SM-for reasons I can only guess at. I'm still not buying Masky as a malevolent entity.

That's exactly how I saw it. J as the Horatio being tasked to tell the story...and Alex as Hamlet. Although, I have to say that that might just be coincidence.

A question I have is in regards to Return. Why doesn't Slendy affect the camera at all? No distortion...a little wonky audio, but at that close proximity in other cases we've seen complete distortion to J's camera outright breaking. It's almost like he can control how he affects their recording equipment. Perhaps instead of being able to warp time and space...he's able to control recording equipment...in essence letting out only what he wants to be known about him. Really gives him a more malevolent puppet master feel when you think of it that way. Makes it also seem kind of hopeless for our poor protagonists.

in Entry 23 the only time you see Slenderman is under the guise of extreme distortion. So I really don't know what you mean. In Return, distortion. in 17 he's outside(far away from the camera). In 13 he is far and then he breaks the camera. In 4 he isn't on camera. In 7 he is far away.

you see my point? He always effects the camera.

Right...but look how close he gets to the camera in Return without it "breaking" like it does in 23. He's not affecting the cameras consistently is what I'm saying.

He is mostly off screen I guess, and like the other poster maybe it IS his face. In 14, it was very dark.
