I actually rewatched all of it a few weeks ago and it's insane to see the fandom after being away for a few years. Insane. But I suppose that's the case for most fandoms. Either way, I love it so. <3

I'd love another mass-Tweet event too. I missed it for the tower (managed to check around before the video went up), so I'm right with you in wanting to participate in another one.

I invited a friend over and starting at 10:30 at night, we began watching all the entries and responses. It was great introducing a new person to the fandom and see their reactions to it. Razz

Distilled, would you like a dialing wand? Razz

Sucks about the lack of net, though!

It is really great to do that! One of my friends noticed my constant posting about Slender Man and FB and I actually got her to watch Marble Hornets. She said she watched it all without sound but it was pretty great to message back and forth about it. I still need to get her over to watch it together sometime.

We tried to get a friend to watch it with us, but she was so unimpressed with Jay going to the house at night, and then GOING BACK at night that she couldn't watch the rest!

I keep trying to get my friends to watch it but most of them won't. :v I did manage to get one into it, but I think she's gotten too bored with the pacing as of late.

Excited for Sunday Surprised

I tried to pursuade a couple of my friends to get into MH but they wussed out after about 3 entries! They don't seem to enjoy the fear as we do!

Thanks for the offer! But I'm good, my friend has arrived - he's got nice long thin fingers, snappy dresser.. He's a little pale though...

Oh shi..

I tried to get two of my friends into it. Once was too lazy to watch all the entries. The other has been following it just to keep up with my blather, but she thinks Slenderman isn't scary at all. X3

OK guys, so my drama class is doing a "horror" unit for the next few weeks, and I want to use the Slenderman in some way. Any ideas on how I can do it? (I don't have any tentacles, so those are out of the question.)

Oh man, that's a toughy. It's really been done to death with all of the people mimicking Marble Hornets.

We see a lot of Slender stalking but not the aftermath, as we know that 100% always ends with disappearances or organs and bodies in trees. We've seen the whole 'friend seeking out the truth about a missing friend'. We've seen a first person stalking. I think we might have seen a couple of cases in blog form of people THINKING that they were stalked but with the truth of that being irrelevant to the mental issues at hand.

If you want to use Slender Man, you should probably break down what kind of horror he and his actions fall under. Themes that I can think of off the top of my head:

-Childhood fears made real
--Fear of the dark
--Fear of strangers
--Bougiemen
--'What's around the corner?'
--'What's just outside my window when I'm not looking?'
--'What is 'safe' -- such as tucked into bed -- and what is not -- such as closets, under the bed'
-Being watched by Big Brother/The Man more and more closely
-Having friends stripped away by something we can't control
-Coping with loss of control and how that makes people fucked up
-Paranoia and how that isolates a person
-Supernatural or paranormal forces (Forces of nature personified)
-No longer being at the top of the food chain

...Anyways, most of the horror here seems psychological, moreso than we see gore and violence. The potential threat instead of the kinetic one, herpderp!

If you're doing a one-man act, you would probably have the most luck with a descent into madness schtick. Alternately, having the focus be on someone close to the person who's going mad, and how they deal with that, could be interesting. Kind of like a psychological zombie bite, the friend is 'infected' with paranoia and fear and it becomes catching? (this is all so very Canadian, no blood or guts anywhere. XD)

Well, what the assignment is is to create a scene (No scripts allowed) that scares the audience in some way. One group that I had *right* after I posted the last message did a fake lockdown by using a speaker in our room that didn't transmit to any other classrooms.

So if I want psycological horror... I'll need dark, I'll need sounds, I'll need Masky :3

Flashlights that flicker and don't quite work, if you can get them to do so! XD Can't really get any of the horror that you see a lot in films without slipping them some acid or something, though. If you can get a small girl in your group, you can always go for a statue/doll that comes to life to frighten people! XDD It sounds like fun!

I managed to get at least five people at my high school curious about the series. Quite a few have watched it by now, and those ones proceeded to show the videos to THEIR friends. In other words, I started a mini-phenomenon. Very Happy
But I'm still the only one as dorky about it as this. Razz

I hear ya, I've been trying to get everyone I know into it (1% down, 99% to go). Not only did they like them though, but they also started showing others. Slender Man has become a cult classic.

OH MY GOD GUYZZZZ SLENDERMAN DID IT!!!111

lol, perfect day to go on a hike in the woods with my brother. I took my camera with me, and when I made it down to the creek it started to randomly turn on and off. When I finally got it to take a picture of the creek (which came out like this) I slipped and fell in the water and have probably ruined my camera. :[

(there's nothing shooped into that picture - that's exactly the way it was taken. There's no hidden slenderman or anything though. I just thought it was odd, especially since I was jokingly looking for slendy the whole time. Had this been when I first watched MH I'd be shitting bricks, lol.)

Funny that you say that there's no Slendy shooped in... >_>"""""" Spaekle, maybe you should set up a blog or something so that we can track your degrading sanity over the next few days...?
