Email responses from Vidal (He's really checking his email now.)

Well damn. I'll bet you anything that you're right on both counts. I can't think of any other explanation. Especially with this Sanchez person. There are a few memories that make him out to be very unusual and there's no way he got into the project legitimately. Some sort of telepathy between them is a solid theory and a single kilometer is a fair distance. I wonder what that would mean if Ace is still alive? What if they are communicating while Jack is inside K-1? Wink I suppose I'm stretching it a little thin here now but it's all worth noting regardless! As you more or less said, telepathy hasn't exactly been "proven" to exist.

Oppositely you do have an excellent point about the "happy birthday" memory. It certainly seems like he's saying it about someone dead. Like he's mourning in front of a gravestone or something.

How are you fairing with the device by the way? Thrie has finished the 10th and I'm still stuck on the 8th. So it goes.

At least you guy's aren't the only one with puzzle problems. lol

I've also noticed two things about the game.

The "21" thing does not always happen. I can complete it normally, but there must be some exception that when your time reaches 21 it skips. Maybe a one time pass?

Also you can drag the pieces that say "Help Me" to the green squares, and they are re-played. They also have score amounts so I think they add to the overall game score. EX: Mine's 2,201. I've never seen my score that high.

And now another brand spanking new update. Enjoy!

Brain 1

Age 5: He came up to my ankles and was just leaning against the apple tree, smoking a pipe. No one believes me but I saw him. The little rascal ran off when I tried to sneak up on him. He just disappeared. No one will ever believe me.

Age 7: I wish dad could have stayed longer to play with me. I'm getting really good. Why does he always have to leave so early?

Age 9: Two of them! Right off the side of the road, sneaking into the forest. I'm not crazy – they were right there!

Age 12: Courtney climbs trees like some kinda mountain lion. I'm going to marry that girl some day.

Age 13: Grandpa says it's the Good Neighbors I keep seeing on our property. I can't tell if he's playing funny or going crazy. Maybe I'm getting a bit old to believe in stuff like this.

Age 14: What else can I do? I tore down the "For Sale" sign and threw it in the creek but it barely made any difference. Mom's still selling the house and moving us to Jersey. I'll probably never see Courtney again.

Age 16: Team Captain! I can't wait to tell Dad!

Age 19: It was like this bolt of lightning came out of nowhere and blew my shoulder right out. It hurts so bad. I hope I can still pitch for tomorrow's game. Coach says there will be scouts there and everything...

Age 22: She's just as beautiful as the last time I laid eyes on her. I just wanna spend every waking moment with her. Always knew I would see her again.

Age 25: I've done everything I can and this pain just doesn't stop. I know baseball's done for me. Fine, I accept it. But why the hell can't the doctors tell me what's wrong?

Age 29: Just take a deep breath, get down on one knee, and ask her...

Age 39: What the hell is hemachromatosis? He's saying that it's hereditary? Oh Jesus, not Kiera**

Age 40: I feel sick. How is it possible I passed something like this on to my daughter without knowing? If she has it too then I have to do something. I have to find a way to make it easier for her than it was for me...

Brain 2

Age 4: Gosh, those cars go by so fast! Way faster than horses can go...I wonder what it feels like inside them to move like that?

Age 10: I'll kill him one day. As soon as i'm strong enough i'll kill him! If he ever touches Annie I swear to christ i'll rip his head off!

Age 16: It's gone all of it. All up in smoke. I could have been burned alive...I could have died! I can't do this anymore. I don't want this to be my life forever. I don't want to die without living! I have to get out of here.

Age 19: I can't feel my legs.......Jesus, that whiskey really packs a punch!

Age 24: I swear Lord, just let me stop vomiting. I solemnly swear I will never drink again!

Age 26: So the Old Man's really gone. I guess I should feel regret... or something...

Age 27: This can't be happening. This can't be happening. God, why couldn't you have taken me? It's MY FAULT GOD DAMN IT! Oh Annie, what have I done?

Age 27: Never walk again? Who cares?! My sister's dead and it's my fault.
Never walk again - I don't deserve to ever breathe again.

Age 27: Mother's really letting Annie visit? I guess she has no reason not to now that Father's gone. I can't wait to take her out, show her what she's been missing out on all these years!

Age 34: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change. The courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Age 52: Are those bruises on her arms? Poor thing. She's the same age as Annie was when...I've got to help her.

Age 54: I won't do it. I won't do the chemotherapy. It's just not worth it anymore to keep pushing. Kathy will be heartbroken but I think it's time to move on....

Age 56 : It's sad to see mother like this. I thought she'd never come and see me… not after Annie. At least her and Kathy seem to be getting along.
Age 58: Kathleen you'll never know just how much you mean to me. You say I saved your life but really you saved mine. God bless you.....

Age 15: People are finally taking notice. All my hard work is paying off! I'm being picked first now!

Age 18: First overall. I was picked first overall! It's a dream come true! I'm going to play in the NHL!

Age 20: What a horrible season...I wasn't picked for Team Canada....I can't believe it...I worked so hard for this...

Age 21: Traded to our nemesis? I guess anyone can be traded...

Age 24: Yes! I've been selected to Team Canada! It's a dream come true! We're going to win the gold medal for sure!

Age 25: Olympic Gold medal Stanley Cup Champion MVP. All my hard work has finally paid off. It's everything I ever dreamed of!

Age 26: Breathe, remember to breathe, Louie. That gorgeous creature in the white dress is walking right to you. Gina the most beautiful woman in the world.

Age 30: Lifting the Stanley Cup never gets old. Never.

Age 32: A chance to win the Gold Medal in Canada just like they did in 2010. This is a once in a lifetime chance.

Age 33: Paralyzed... my career is over. My life is over...

Age 35: I'm on a roll. The world can't keep me down. I've still got some luck left.

Age 37: That's it. My very last dollar down the slots. How am I going to pay Big Tony back now? What the hell am I gong to tell Gina?

Age 38: That black van has been following me all day. If that's one of Big Tony's lackey's let'em come for me. What's he gonna do break my legs?

Age 12: Someday my prince will come along, and we'll fall in love.

Age 20: I finally found him! My prince! I just know it! Chris Stevenson, you're the one!

Age 24: Chris and I are engaged! We're going to be married on Miami Beach just like I dreamed about when I was a little girl!

Age 25: Jane Stevenson...it sounds so silly! I think i'll keep my own name. Kuhllman. I hope Chris doesn't get mad.

Age 30: I'm pregnant again...I hope it's a boy this time. I always wanted one by and one girl.

Age 42: Raymond is always playing these video games. Why doesn't he go out more like his sister? Oh well...I'm sure it's just a phase. He'll grow out of it.

Age 50: My son still isn't doing anything with his life...My daugther is already in medical school...I just don't have the heart to kick him out. I'm sure he'll find his way...

Age 65: He's been stealing from us? Our retirement funds are gone? He's been using all our money to fund his games, and buying all that junk food...I guess Chris will have to keep working just because of his son...

Age 70: I keep having these nightmares...does my son really want me to die? Maybe I was too harsh kicking him out like that. He's a 40 year old wirehead with no skill sets...where swill he go?

Age 72: My husband is ok, and my daughter is ok but i've got to make sure Raymond is ok....poor, poor Raymond. I'm doing this for him...

Age 13: One kilometre seems to be the limit to our ability! It's incredible!

Age 16: Jack Sanchez? Are you sure these ID's will work? Do I even look the slightest bit Mexican to you?

Age 16: Never accept a drink. It lowers your intelligence and makes you stupid. Why do you think they offer free drinks while you gamble?

Age 18: I can't believe a silly woman is coming between Ace and I! We're going to take over the world together and this damned doctor has us both smitten!

Age 21: Happy 26th birthday , Ace Sanchez!

Age 23: We can use her to get inside! I know she can fake a heart condition for me on those papers...

Age 24: I actually got in? I'm not terminally ill....does that mean....I have to die to live forever? Will I feel anything when I'm on the inside?

Age 7: Kigelia for bee-stings ginger root for upset stomach. Devil's Claw for back pain. Caju bark for fever...What was the cure for cough again? Oh yes, warbergia!

Age 34: The Cancun sky is as blue as my baby's eyes. Life is such a dream.

Age 40: The older I get the more uncertain I am of it all. I sometimes wish I didn't love everyone so much. It makes the thought of losing them so much harder. How do other people handle this?

Age 44: I knew eventually I would be sitting in that little room, and the doctor would come in with that dead expression of finality on his face, and I would face it with that hollow, dull feeling in my chest. What I didn't expect was that through all that....there might still be hope.

Hmm, I've been giving level 1 another try, still no luck.
You're right on being able to click and drag the "dying" pieces, however, for me, they are not re-played when I release them.

Seriously... I'm BEGGGGGGGGING you.

Explain to me how in the world you get past #7, where you start out with 14-15 sec, and destroying a guy doesn't give you any time, and retrieving a memory (which is rare) only gives you 10 seconds. That is toooooo freaking impossible, and I'd really like to get past it.

So please, those of you who are magically able to get through this, please share your insights and secrets, because it has to be more than random luck.

Well, actually, each red piece gives you 1/2 of a second, so two gives you one. However, I still agree that this is just about impossible to do. Also, the dragged pieces have placed for me a couple of times, however, they're too hard to catch, and the collision detection for where they land (if they even do) sucks (they've never ended up where I stop my cursor).

Well, 1/2 sec doesn't really help Smile

which is why i want to know how the people who ARE able to do it (i'm loking at you cherrytree) are managing.

I figured out that if you do catch one of the 'helpme' pieces, it will only let you put it back in the boxes that form the green square around the original collision location. the numbers associated with the 'helpme' pieces also match the list of numbers that occasionally appears in the upper right corner. Since i haven't been able to get any further, I haven't noticed any relationship to the score... since I can't get a score... since I can't finish this stupid game any longer.... ad!@#$

OK wowo, since 7 was the last one I finished I hope this can help you! I think we have the same setup. The memory squares gave me +10, I started with like 15 or 20 time, and the red squares SEEMED to give me no time.

After getting over the beginning shitty time I thought it was easy. This one is all about placing as quickly as you can and then just waiting for the top special attack to appear. Just place super fast and IGNORE when the bad-guy makes your pieces fly away. Some levels you need to save those flying away but when you need TIME like in this level then you need to be killing red squares and shit and not wasting time saving the fliers. Sometimes i think too that when you ignore the pieces flying away and continue to drop more greens, the enemy places a whole bunch at once!! (this is GOOD when you need time!!)

So just keep clicking every chance you get on any of the red path squares. The red enemy squares do give something like +1 for sure in this level because you can tell when you kill more then 2 at once. (edit: maybe its 1/2 like you guys said?? I dunno, it was definitely going up is all i know)

So let the red guy place his pieces and let your pieces die when they fly away aaaaaand just keep clicking! lol this one is very frantic

I'm not sure how it is triggered but eventually the top special attack will appear and THAT'S the one you want. im assuming you have seen the three special attack buttons on the right? top, middle and bottom. If you are looking for one particular special attack to appear then do not use any of the others until it does!!! Level Six for example kept giving me the same special attack over and over and I kept using it over and over with no real help. But then I waited long enough one time and all 3 of them became available to me. I used one of the three and then they all disappeared. not until i realized this could I even beat the damned thing. the special attacks are crucial!!

The one you want for this level, wowo, is definitely the top special attack. It makes the enemy locked out from placing for quite a while!!!! Just survive long enough to hit that sucker and you will be golden to finish it off from there!!

I hope that made any sense! I did my best to make sense! Very Happy

Thanks for taking the time to write this -- however:

1) i have *never* seen any of the special attacks appear during this level

2) I only have 14 seconds. even if I make all of the red guys go away with a special attack, it takes longer than that to place the needed pieces all along the red path. and even if I manage to get a memory and end up with a whole 20+ seconds, that is still not enough time to place all the needed pieces.

3) this is related to the previous point -- you only have so much time to place a piece (you have to wait until it goes to 100). so there is only so 'frantic' that I can be -- you can't make the green bar fill up any faster. hence I run out of time. even if I kill every red piece -- I can't kill red pieces at 1-2 sec a pop faster than the clock is counting down, not at the slooow rate that I am able to place green pieces and the slooooow rate that sufficient red pieces appear in places that I can kill them for a measly 1/2 sec.

EDIT: there are 21 spaces on the red path that need to be filled. It takes 4 seconds for the green bar to fill up to 100. Even if we grant that we can place one piece immediately, that leaves 20*4 = 80 seconds of time to be as efficient as possible placing pieces. That does not include red guys coming along and knocking your pieces off etc etc. Since you start out with 14 seconds -- you need some way to pick up 66 seconds -- so let's say 6 memories at regular 9 second intervals, plus at least opportunities to knock out 12 guys.

That's freaking ludicrous.

heheh fair enough wowo then I wish I could be of better help =( All I can tell you is how I managed to do it. Level six took me frigging Hours of retrying. I figured out the special attacks thing and was able to beat it quickly after that. Level Seven i beat after only a few tries again because of the special attacks.

and just a quick note, if you DO eventually see this one appear, dooont use the "make all the red pieces go away" special attack. That's the MIDDLE one and is very bad in a level like this. You don't get the time for the kills when it makes them disappear so therefor it sucks! the top special attacks stops the enemy from placing red pieces for what seemed like 30 seconds at least, allowing you to keep killing and building your path too while he does nothing. The BOTTOM attack is the one where you turn all the red pieces into green. This one ive used a few times too and is good if you have lots of time and the red pieces is overwhelming you!

also wow I may have just gotten lucky and got those memory squares at the right times?? those were definitely a big help even with just +10 and I got quite a few of them. I don't know where they come from but if they are random then you maaay just be unlucky!!

edit: do you also notice that when you click past the "my guys are flying away" bits, sometimes the red places a shitload all at once?? I was killing 4-6 enemies with each drop sometimes because of this! there were red pieces everywhere...

also something to keep in mind. Try rebooting the whole thing. leave the game and come back into it. It should appear to start higher than 14 seconds the first time it plays. If you fail after this then it will again show as 14 seconds.

I just tested it and sure enough. Level Eight when I start from a reboot of the game started at 100 seconds. I failed intentionally. When I could see the timer again it was at 96 seconds. I could click during the missing 4 seconds but couldn't see the board properly because it was flashing in and out. This 4 seconds would make a frig-load of difference when you only have little time to start with (level 7!)

Word of warning to you guys who haven't gotten to Level 9. Do NOT pick up any of the green boxes. They mean an instant game over for that level.

Level 10 is more according to luck. I don't think there's a very skillful way to win that one. The only suggestion is replay your pieces always in that level.

whoa uhhh, well 8 took me foooreeever! I think the single round went for like 20 minutes and I had over 400 time! nerrrve racking!

9 was very different than the others!! and reading 9's thoughts, this person has prooooobleeems. i wont spoil why the level was easy but you'll be kicking yourself once you "get it"! heheh

aaaand 10 I started playing for 5 minutes and decidedly will continue this later! time to go see Thor and probably laugh for an hour and a half. I completely see what you mean on this level 10 though cherrytree!! its quite the opposite strategy I guess than the super fast levels.

@sublimetime: Actually the "Secret" to level 9 is not limited to it. You can actually "Win" through the other means, and it will be transferred to the next! It happened once to me.

Ok, I've gotten a lot closer a few times now that I've noticed something: I think this is partly due to the slight delay between your click and a piece getting placed, but the game will actually register a click when the meter is somewhere in th 90s.

Also, you don't have to quit the game and come back, just use the reset button either right after game over, or when the timer reaches 1. The animation on the button is only 1 second, and you can even skip it by quickly double-clicking the button.

Despite all of this, however, I still have yet to actually beat brain 6/7 (the first of today's)
