You guys are way ahead of me. I think I'll let you finish going through the brains. I still want to help with something so I made this. Posting a huge wall-o-text with all the memories was getting out of hand so I'll keep track of it all. When you find a new memory just post it and I'll add it to the list, or if you know how you can do it yourself. If anyone would like to write an introduction that would be nice too. Wink

Well, I finally did it! I finally managed to get through brain 7! It was really pure luck, I got about 10 memory squares one right after the other, and won using the third item. Also, my "21 trick" happened on brain 10, as it "carried over" from the previous level. Which is good, as I don't know how I would have beaten that one, otherwise. I actually beat 9 by some creative means: I let the virus kill itself. A cookie to whomever can figure out what I mean by that. Very Happy

Anyway, I took a look at the audio file, and I was able to understand a bit more of it. My transcription is as follows:
"Brayden, Brayden, Brayden... Brayden assured me that Walter's device wouldn't work... yet. [INDECIPHERABLE] Funny."

As for the memories, I'm just gonna save myself the trouble and assume that all you early-completers got them all. If you really need me to transcribe mine, I'll do it, though.

Ah now that the forums are back up. I got another email from Vidal.

Quote:
Hello sir, thankyou for the memories update!

Maybe you've already figured these out, but here's some new thoughts on those memories:

I realized something about the 5th brain! The reason why Greenberg probably can't remember a "Sanchez" is because that's not the brains real name! The Age 16 memory: "Jack Sanchez? Are you sure these ID's will work? Do I even look the slightest bit Mexican to you?" infers that Sanchez is a FAKE name they picked up with their fake ID's. So the "Happy Birthday Ace Sanchez" could also just be referring to his "new name" as well! What do you think?

Also Brain 4 and Brain 7 could be connected. 7 could very possibly be 4's son Raymond. It's interesting to note (ironic even) that they both seem to be giving themselves to the project, for the other! Apparently they don't even realize it.

The only other thing I guess is #9. He's clearly pretty insane. This may lend reasoning to why the 9th brain was a little "stranger" than the others when using the device. As someone said on the iDGi forums (got me thinking) I wouldn't be surprised if each of the levels difficulty are directly related to the "type of person" behind the brain.

The new intro image. That looks like good news! Whoever told you that comment was absolutely right. It appears as though your suggestion to Greenberg has worked out and you have fixed it! This also proves (kind of?) that Brayden's device is doing something good for Henry. If in fact that writing IS from the "Good Henry."

Maybe I can help a little with the Audio for the one after the 10th brain. It's funny how once you are told what is being said, then it becomes so much easier to understand =) Someone emailed me their results of this audio yesterday and so far we think it's the closest. Apparently they dissected the entire file - slowed down faster sections, sped up slower sections, tried it backwards, etc.

Anyway, what we believe is being said then is this: "Brayden assured me that Walter's device wouldn't work. (Yet?) I feel, funny... funny." Infected Henry is obviously changing and also speaks of Brayden like they are/were in this together. Wonderful.

The "Yet I feel" part is very hard to hear as it's far in the background and sounds like someone aaangry is whispering it.

Thoughts?

-Vidal

So this almost proves to me that Brayden was the one who infected Henry orignally or knew about it and didn't attempt to fix it.

Also some new memories that reveal who Brain 8 is married too.

Quote:
Brain 3

Age 10: The color of my skin doesn't make me any better or worse than the rest of them. Why am I always picked last? Someday, i'll be picked first. I'm sure of it.

Brain 4

Age 38: They grow up so fast. Ilisa's already in middle school and has a black belt in karate! I'm so proud!

Brain 5

Age 17: I've never seen so many naked girls in the same place! (That's a bit disturbing for Brain 5)

Brain 7

Age 16: I don't care about school. I don't care about anything now. Leave me alone.

Brain 8

Age 12: I'll never get married. I'll die alone. I'll probably never even get kissed. Who would want to kiss me? Look at me.

Age 14: I've never been more certain of anything in my life. Everything has been leading up to this moment, when I would meet him David Cameron. It feels so cosmic and right.

Age 26: David Cameron! I never thought I would see him again! But then something about him...I always knew he was meant to be in my life.

Brain 9

Age 7: How do they get the butterflies to stay still? They're so perfect when they're not moving.

I would think Brain 8 is married to David Cameron.

Bringing up the rear

There's me being distracted with something else...wowo at least you've got 14 seconds I've got 6 which definitely seems impossible. Had one chance at one of those green spotty squares missed it, haven't seen one since.

I find turning my sound off the only alternative to the constant replay of a game which was best left in the 80s.

Yeah, you get less time like that when the game-over animation plays, as the timer is reset before it starts. To save that time, just double click the [RE]set button to skip any animation and start over with full time.

for what it's worth, I tried this for about two hours total yesterday and got NOWHERE.

Hey PM team!!!!~!! do you really think that this is a 'fun' part of your game??!!?!?!? I hate to break it to you but it is not 'fun' at all. There has to be a better way to push out pieces of the story of the brains. I don't mind there being a challenge, but this... just no.

finished.

This isn't a required part of the game. According to the latest Press&News post, the new "dialer" will be available to everyone who's past Ep. 1 as soon as the last of the coordinates are emailed in to Vidal. If you hate the game, just stop playing it. So far, there hasn't been a brain that no one could get past.

You are right that this is not a required part of the game, but it surely is a badly-designed part of the game. But thank you for being so understanding about my frustration and my thwarted desire to actually, you know, take part in the game. I think I will take your advice and stop playing. I hope that the PMs continue to enjoy creating content for a playerbase of 6.

Wow wowo, you b really pissed off! I get your frustration my friend believe me. I was ready to tear my hair out after retry #50 of level 6 and then 10 took me a long frigging time as well. lol. but try and look at it from the other side.

I thought my two cents is maybe worth spitting in case someone is reading this. I'm enjoying the game myself. It took ALOT of time but I did finally beat to 10 and I am looking forward to the next batch. Hopefully they don't bring the difficulty down too much based on comments here (if you're reading this PM!!)

I believe this is meant to be something that could take some people a long, long time to beat. Vidal has pointed this out twice now. I mean long, long like after we've already gone back into the anomaly and are on the other side again. after we hope henry has been repaired by those of us who initially beat the damn thing.

Like I said before if they made these levels EASY then people would be complaining the opposite and saying how useless and easy this all is. We would have ALL the memories and ALL the other shit within a single day because we'd all just be resetting the whole thing a bunch of times. BOOORING. Unlike Cherrytree I'm AFRAID to reset because I may not be able to beat it again!!! This is a GOOD thing. I see myself continuing with whatever episode two becomes and then at the same time still come back to the greenberg device and pick away at it. I may never beat it but SO WHAT? From what we are told its not stopping me from continuing. If this were an RPG i would call this an incredibly difficult SIDE QUEST.

Not to mention there is several easy tricks to winning the levels once you get them and I think most of all Cherrytree has proven this. How many times have you beaten 6 and 7 Cherrytree?? I thought 6 and 7 were by far the hardest so far and I think he's beaten them like 10 times! 10 was only "hard" because it took soooooo looooong to finish one round win or lose! lol

Anyway here are the new thoughts I got for 9 and 10. I'll go put them into the Wiki page john started up. I'll also enter the new ones cherrytree got while im at it. The other levels you guys have already found what I found. At least I think these two are new.

Quote:

Brain 9:
Age 15: "One of the girls started crying when the teacher told us we were dissecting frogs today. I don't know why. What's there to be scared of? They're already dead. Girls."

Brain 10:
Age 20: "I can't believe we're already selling out shows in cities all over North America!"

edit: I just realized! Brain 10! Maybe THE MAGICAL HAPPY RAINBOW KITTENS is this chicks band name?!? Sounds like a total punk band name to me!

Sorry! Since you guys passed the levels I thought you didn't need it anymore. I'll upload it to Megaupload then. It's about 31 minutes long because I kept failing at Level 10 (Nothing new there) or some of the other levels.

I think i've beat 6 and 7 probably 5 times now? I don't keep track really. lol

What i've been thinking Vidal has been pointing out that not everyone has to finish. Is there something at the end that only one person can get? Some carrot at the end of the stick? Who knows.

Video should be ready in I guess 20 minutes? Depends on how fast my internet connection is.

Edit: Megaupload is saying 40 minutes.
(Also I think this game requires a good amount of luck on some things. Though i've been known to be really good at things, and take the hard path.)

And it's done.

Here you go:

Remember it's 31 minutes with the restarts included.

The Greenberg Device.

After being thrown out of the other side and returned to our world, you should find the beginning to the Greenberg Device. I'm going to make a single post for each aspect of the device. Within these I will list everything we have discovered, mostly relayed to me by YOU folks, through email.

Please feel free to post any further findings, here. I will continue to EDIT my posts to include your findings as we all progress together.

and new email from Vidal:

I figured you would have already figured the same as I did! Wink

Yes indeed, I was just informed by another as well that the 21 time on brain 9 is not brain-specific! Ha! Nobody here even noticed that. The few of us to get past brain 8 all let the time run down for brain 9! Took the easy way out I suppose.

As for the black van references I'm not sure. It's possible they could hold credence to the Church's claims of kidnappings being where the American's got the brains. Other than that I'm not too sure.

As for sending me the memories like that, it's no problem at all! Certainly not spamming me! Because of this I am going to now go and setup a post on the forums though, make it easier! Also I'm going to start a new category called "Discussion with Vidal Desertch." I'm going to make this category impossible to read by the other side. Have it be somewhere we can discuss things openly and not worry about them reading it...

I'm skipping through the video now Cherry. I just wanted to say I felt sooo bad for you at the 19 minute mark! hahah you were ONE SQUARE AWAY from winning when the red whacked you and your time ran out! Ack! It looks like level 10 gave you by far the most troubles too, the rest you steamed by pretty quickly!

Yeah. Level 10 takes alot of luck to pass easily. I think I passed it the very first time I played it easily. lol
The rest weren't very hard either. I just kinda always bulldoze through them pretty quickly.
I did learn some quick tips for Level 10. (I started to notice their pattern of placement.) But I digress it just takes a healthy amount of luck to pass Level 10 like I did the others.
