the latest one (0xx012) is a bit interesting. the date appears to be february 15th 2028 (the 2028 is reversed), unreversed i hear something like a gunshot at the very beginning. reversed, one of the voices we've heard before says "i've been noticing some irregularities" (although with another scrambled piece of audio between "some" and "iregularities").

Aye for sure - the scrambled piece of audio in between the sentence "i've been noticing some irregularities" which plays when forward - is simply the other voice backwards + the computer voice saying "fifteen" backward... the only words i THINK I can make out from the human voice when the file is played forward is "weirdest thing..." starting at 3.2 seconds. More like w-w-w-weirdest thing..." and then MAYBE just "yeah" after that???

EDIT: I'm beginning to think everything we hear is ALL one of the three voices: The human european accent voice, the other human voice, and the computer voice saying the date... mixed with a few random things like the gunshot/slap sound and the dog barking in #11. Considering how many different dates there are so far - I think this is going to be a huge ass puzzle.

lol agreed, But outside the choppy intrance to the whole thing, This has so far been interesting. I found the internet files to be almost on par with what could really happen out in the real world. Craziest part is if your watching the matrix while playing this game, cut the lights off and stick on head phones and listen to background music on the project b6 page. Almost feel like your about to see some sort of demon evoked or something lol. Definatley want to see more of this.

You mean the heavy breathing on the Worldview Desktop? I noticed that as well.
Ive been taking a link approach to finding clues and here's what Ive found:
The download files are hosted on http://interdimensionalgames.com/nothingheremovealong/
I tried different things here (like various emotes and 0xx0xx combinations like the supplied files but found nothing)

he probably means that while you won't have access to the ftp via that link, you can try different words, numbers, etc at the end of the link to see if it comes up with anything, being that the files are hosted from the "nothingheremovealong" folder.

for example, putting "0xx010.zip" at the end of the link (which is one of the audio files already found, plus with a .zip extension, since all the audio files found so far have been contained in a .zip file) will come up with this: http://interdimensionalgames.com/nothingheremovealong/0xx010.zip

Wish I could figure out all the words in the Project B6 part. Its down to breaking whatever cypher that is or decoding the Audio files for now with this one. Not sure I want to delve into either until I see how much happens in the coming few days at least.

Ah, I see.

0xx013 and 0xx014 are up. More crazy sounds. 13: I can clearly hear someone saying "I can't, I don't think I can," then two different voices say "February 21, 2028." 14: March 1, 2028.

If by the cipher you mean the symbols, the ones that appear to be summerian cuneiform ... yeah, unless you're an expert on mesopotamian languages, you're never going to translate that.
The first ARG I played was PIE Theory, and in that they had three cuneiform symbols, just three, written on a wall at one point, and as far as I'm aware it was never translated. Even after the ARG was over (albeit I didn't follow it to the end, I stopped playing half way through and then took a peak at the end to see the conclusion) I got the impression that the meaning of the word(s) in cuneiform were just assumed because it made sense, but the actual symbols were never fully translated.

I think the links have nothing to do with any meanings of the symbols. The links seem to be grouped, like a library shelving system, but the symbols do not follow that grouping in any order.

The frequencies of the symbols taken all together on the page do justify thinking that it is a simple substitution cipher, presumably in English. The problem I came up against is the length of the strings, which makes me think they have eliminated word breaks. There is at least one string which begins with a double letter, which also makes no sense unless they've also broken words in half.

My approach would be to string everything together and experiment with common substitution, then hope some common words pop out to show the word breaks. I ran out of steam last weekend and never took this idea very far.

Okay, so, looking at the symbols it does seem that perhaps they could just be a simple substitution cipher with just such compex symbols to throw us off scent.

However, its a painstaking process to not only try to see which symbol is most common and replace it with an e etc. etc. but to even make sure you've substituted in the right order and not gotten symbols confused, and so on.

With this in mind, I decided that if deciphering these symbols as if they were a substitution cipher is indeed what we are supposed to do, then splitting it into two steps would be easier. The first step, which I've just done, was to painstakingly transpose all the symbols for a different computer symbol (!, ", £, etc.) so that, while the pattern remains the same, it is easier to differentiate between different symbols while substituting.

The second step, then, is clearly to do the substitution. I've literally gotten sick of looking at these symbols while doing stage one Laughing so I can't be bothered trying now, but if anyone else wants a go I'll post my substitution here:

Note that, the "Line x" refers to the line that the symbols are on on the image that I'll attach below, there are 6 lines in total. Some lines have 2 or 3 different sets of symbols on them. I've tried to copy the pattern shown on the image as best I can so as to reduce confusion as to what symbol is what. Each symbol is numbered so that, worst case scenario, you can just count from the left of the symbols on the image, check my corrosponding number in the transposition text, to see what symbol I've swapped for what symbol, if that makes any sense at all.

In any case, here it is:

<EDIT> Code tags are messing it up somehow. I'm attaching it as a notepad file instead.

My initial guess at looking at this is that they were too many unique symbols/too many lines without enough repeated symbols for this to be a substitution cipher. But I could be mistaken.

not sure if this has been mentioned before, but on that projectb6 page, shortly after the symbols appear, boxes appear very briefly around a number of those symbols. i think they correspond to the ones used in the matching puzzle on interdimensiongames.com after clicking on the anomaly and before accessing the desktop.

as for those two latest audio files, in 0xx013, reversed i can hear at the end, "i told myself i wouldn't"

in 0xx014, reversed i can hear "with any luck, after tonight we should".

33 symbols, at the least. So I agree with DLT, as a straight cipher this is not likely.

...Wait, 34? Line 6, group 3, number 3 is not as marked (Diamond, as 3rd symbol from top left)-- it's another symbol altogether.

Other observations:
1) Discount piano tones on letters? It seems randomly selected each time you hover the mouse over a symbol, not consistent.
2) Examining order of keywords now (e.g. "consortium"). Too many symbols, yes, but if we can narrow down 1 symbol=1 letter to a few symbols meaning 1 letter then we can make this work. The frequency outliers are there for a language -- 12% of the symbols are that diamond-marked one-- but I'm not sure what to do with the keywords besides drop letters from them in and cross my fingers. I'm giving that a shot now.

@Yamato: That may also be a way to trim down the number of symbols to something that will fit the alphabet? I hadn't noticed it before. Wow, that's fast. Going to need serious luck to screen shot it. I did just download a flash decompiler, I'll give that a shot.

EDIT-update:
Well, that wasn't terribly productive. The tool does not work on 64-bit systems; I'll need to dig up another. My freehand attempts at a screen grab of those boxes have resulted in nothing but frustration.

If anyone else would like, I've tabulated the symbols (as categorized by DLT, thank you for that), along with their associated words and an image of the symbol they're attached to. It saves time waiting for the keyword to be 'written', if nothing else. Although, come to think of it, I didn't note which letters were reversed when written-- which could be a clue.

That's right, we never fully translated the cuneiform, and the PMs ended up providing the solution so the game could move forward.

Best of luck trying to translate / decipher this round of cuneiform. After my fruitless efforts tackling cuneiform last time I feel disinclined to tackle this puzzle.

If it really is this hard to translate....is there a chance that IDGI would actually have someone who can speak or translate Ancient sumerian? Just a thought, this is only my 5th ARG so maybe i just dont understand how deep some of these things go. Very Happy
