92 pages. Impressive Smile
I'd suggest it's at least feasible to begin a thread here for Episode 2 discussion. If it's still a style of game and discussion that can be encompassed in one thread, then that should suffice (especially if this thread is renamed for Episode 1, and the first or last post is updated to include the episode summary, etc).

Of course there's still no harm in running it past an admin, asking for a dedicated forum Wink

edit: 93! wheee

Hi there. I've been following this thread for some time to see what other players have discovered in the arg. I've had a problem recently which won't let me continue the game.

After importing the coordinates to the satellite from the Greenburg device, a date appears on the lower right corner of the screen. The first time I clicked it, I was asked to give a username and a password, with the "video" playing behind normally. I didn't know them at that time, so I did not continue. The second time I was asked, there flash player could not load the movie and I was not asked for a username/password. There is just a black screen.

I tried Opera instead of Firefox, but the result was the same. Is there a way to fix this? Thank you in advance.

As far as I remember, cherrytree also had that problem or at least one similar to that in the beginning and it somehow got fixed by the pm.
As a last resort, you might have to clear your cache (specifically the flash cookies) via firefox or opera and start anew. (Those cookies are browser independent)

@thebruce, thanks for coming by so quickly Smile

I'm getting it too, shadowdancer, minz. black screen of death when I load idgi1.net and it wasn't like this last night. I'm just going to wait it out because there's no way im resetting my states and shit! must be a problem on their end if 3 of us are seeing it

EDIT: site works now! lol. Tried it before writing this message and it was down, tried after and it seems to be working again. loaded to desktop no problem.

Sooooo how do ARGs usually work anyway? think there is probably only a small group of people who actually post and probably a bunch of others who follow along without posting? no? be curious to know if any of these "others" are emailing vidal and such. like shadowdancer is a great example! hehe

also uh, yea a dedicated forum would be pretty cool. could like port over the whole wiki which is a buggy, irritating shit system to edit. I gave up on it a while ago lol but i would be happy to help build a forum. hell i would give $50 to anyone who wants to tackle doing a synopsis for all the stuff between Ep1 and Ep2 on their forums. lol good luck with that! Wink

If you ever see the black screen of death on the idgi1 site it's because the pm's have removed the flash files.

When I discovered the ARG, you had already figured out most of the first episode, so I didn't really had something to add. Same goes with episode 2. I had left idg for a while, so when I began playing though the second episode, you already were ahead of me. But yeah, I'd actually like to post and contribute instead of just be another lurker.

New tweet by Vidal:
Quote:
Test of laser freq manipulation to advance time on the other side caused unforeseen damage to iDGi-1. Damage repaired, testing continues.

Looks like we won't be getting an update soon then.

Yeah, the site is indeed back up completely. The coordinates date has changed to today, and the effect when disconnecting (the one with the concentric circles and "2011") is a little bit different, but the date on the desktop is still the same. 'Tis a shame, they're really making us wait for this one, it better be good.

Malcolm DID reply on the forum (thank you PMs for not making us wait a week and a half). Unfortunately, I'm at a loss for what exactly to say in reply. I'm assuming we should let him know we can read the encrypted portion, right?

Also, do you guys believe what he's saying about the experiments? Was kind of creeping me out...

We also got a post from a confused, TINAG-breaking n00b greenhorn. Not sure what to say to him, either. Smile

EDIT: More's going on than I thought!

The coordinate date is still the 8th, but this tweet shows when you click it.

When you get to the desktop, a list of dates (with only one there, March 7th, 2028) shows in the lower left to allow you to select a connection date.

When you click it, it asks you to confirm, and then it appears to quickly disconnect and reconnect again.

Please note that I am on Henry's side. Your experience may vary.

You're greeted by a message from Henry asking where we've been and saying that Kevin has left and [I forget the name of his replacement at the moment, insert it here] has shown up. Apparently Greenberg doesn't like Henry, either.

Page 2 of the message window tells you what to do, which is go back to the converter tool, which has had files added to it.

When you close the message window, you find another. I assume it was underneath. It says that, despite me choosing him, the Church was able to screw with him a bit. Page 2 of this message window says that the cleaned-up audio files were Church fakes recorded by a Mike Tiffern. He says he's fixed them.

Didn't bother to listen to all of them, but the audio files are indeed the real Kevin again.

The converter tool now takes a bit to load. Three new files. One related to "Bellhurst should not be trusted," [Bellhurst?] one to kevin's mom being lured to a trap, and one about John Wilconson.

Don't have time to solve the files right now (riddles again). Will later

Just wrapped up all 3 of them on Henry's side. One is a document about Kevin missing? It's all in spanish so I can't do alot with it yet.

Second is an audio from his mother about going to see him.

Third is the REAL letter that the Church tried to slip a fake to us from John Wilconson. I haven't read it yet as it's in hard to read cursive.

I love how Henry states how Shaw is touching him in weird places. Laughing
He also says that Kevin told him he's not a bad AI like Skynet or that mean girl GLAdOS.

Okay Church also says where have we been and that they've meet more resistance than expected.

After a little bit the screen starts glitching and it changes from the logo of Worldview Industries to the logo of the Guardian Church. They also say the've corrected the audio files.

NOTE: Symbols should be hidden inside your terminal. Between my two files they are the same but they may change. Please check among yourselves. If they're new please post them.

So far I have:
D,P,C,M

Here are the 3 places i've found them hidden.
1. In the recycle bin right below the psnote. Clicking it will bring up it.
2.When you try to log in to the internet where you would put your password.
3.On the menu of Kevin Chard's blog.
4. On the exit screen.

Haven't checked the other locations, but I'm on Henry's side, and I've got a G in my Recycle Bin. I'll check the other locations you mentioned.

Recycle Bin: G
Internet login: P
Blog menu: D
"End" window: M

So it may be random to an extent. Can you post the full info for G? That gets rid of 5 out of 21. I tried inputting them into the satellite screen and it failed so I've emailed Vidal to see if they need to do something with them first.

There seem to be 4 letters in total, at least I couldnt find any more than the ones you already had.
Although i am pretty sure that whats important are not the letters themselves but the coordinates attached to them :

Code:
#######03.07.2028#######
x-846##99 : D : -81.01 129.38
x-846##99 : M : -33.30 -30.23
x-044##72 : G : -35.88 88.24
x-044##72 : P : 67.81 -56.95

also note that they seem to come in pairs, there is one pair with the "x-846##99" prefix and one with "x-044##72"
I dont know what will happen if i only put those 4 coordinates (or a pair maybe) into the satelite alignment tool but I'll try it anyway Wink

I think I have misread c for g then since everything else matches up.

I wonder what these coordinates are... I mean, why would the Henry on this second timeline want us to connect to another one?

Nuts! I tried unzipping the Wilconson zip file, and Windows said it was invalid. Did anyone else have this problem? I'm going to go try re-downloading it.

EDIT: Nope, re-downloading didn't help. PMs, please fix.
