Okay, so, I made an account so I could get help on this ARG. So, sorry for the noob-ness in advance.

I just started last night, and:

1. I downloaded all 18 zip files, but 3 or so of them are locked. It says I need a password?

2. I was reading the earlier posts on this thread, and I was confused, because I had no idea what that Hangman Game was. How do I get to that (if it's even useful)?

3. I already unlocked the internet with the answer from the riddle in the Recycling Bin, and I read the blog, but, it didn't seem very helpful...

So, as you can see, I'm pretty confused (this is my first real ARG), and I need a lot of help.

Thank you!

Okay, same noob here. Got through all of that, except the locked files. Now it's looking for my latitude and longitude? Should I put in my actual lat and long, or was there a clue before? I notice the numbers on the side and bottom of the diagram, but I was never good at geology.

Please help!

Thanks!

We've Had Our Hands Tied...
Greetings Seekers and other interested parties,

We're still here, and we're still working very hard on the next version of the iDGi-1 interface, which is shaping up to be a quantum leap beyond what we've been able to do so far.

Quite a bit has happened with our satellite since the holidays, and we've been experiencing some restrictions. I can't get into the details … yet. Rest assured, that we will soon be allowed to break our silence, and inform you all of what is happening.

Stay tuned….

So I'm all caught up....

Hi guys, a relative noob here whose very excited about this game. I just hit 91% last night, and it makes sense that I don't have a full 100 because I haven't actually figured out how to read the "Email" account Henry set up for me.

A little background on my playthrough

-I sided with Henry over the Church. The Guardian Church isn't terribly obvious in its evil, but I trust an angry AI child with incredible power over a bunch of fanatics with political connections any day.

-I've only read this thread from about the pg 80 or so on I think? I only really needed help finding the hidden message on the blade of grass. Without you guys, I don't think I ever would have solved that.

-I solved all of Henry's riddles, but I haven't taken the time to look through Jess' journal entries yet.

-I'm now talking to Henry's AI-creation / child. It won't give me a name for it, or much information at all. HOWEVER, when I asked it how old it was last night, it said it was (-1.2weeks old). Which means we're, what? 9 days from its possible launch? Or does jumping forward 7 days in 2028 take a long time from our perspective?

Hey guys! It doesn't look like there's been much happening since I've been gone, has there?? I was a little worried they'd disappeared on us buuuut I guess that last blog post from Vidal says otherwise. I wonder what that's all about.

To all the old schoolers on here (cherrytree, duke, etc) did you guys notice the change to the .zip files where all the Kevin Chard audio puzzle pieces were downloaded from???? I'm not sure when they were changed but they're very different now. I reset the game about a week ago (was boooored) and noticed the .zip files are toooottttaaally different now and with quite a few new documents and shit inside. So far it doesn't look like much info we don't already know from other areas of the game. BUT it's still worth checking out if you haven't!

As EmilySam said (welcome to the game by the way! If you are still stuck with anything feel free to send me a private. I can try to help!) there are a few new .zip files that are password protected. SOME kind of puzzle is going on here to figure out but I don't have a clue where to start or where to find these passwords.

And to Crunchy English! Welcome! Very Happy it sounds like you are caught up to where the rest of us are at. You said you can't figure out the email program though?? What do you mean by that?? It should be pretty straight forward I thought? Have you had a chance to look at the forums at all? Personally I found reading those to be the most fun I've had with this game. I like a good story and it was really fun following along with all that.

and lastly - any luck with the video decoding?! anyone? Governorbaji?? when I get home in a few days I'm going to look at that latest forum post from Henry and try to figure out what the hell he's trying to tell us. As Cherrytree said I really feel like the pieces to decode this are there but it's just not jumping out at me!

Thank you for being so welcoming Sublime... frankly I can't figure out what my password is supposed to be to access the email. The exclamation mark is a pretty big hint, but I haven't found a corresponding one anywhere, or if I did I can't seem to get there again. I must have skipped something? I'm only technically at 91%?

The Converter Tool appears to be the key I'm missing but I'm not sure where that is.

I'm not that old! *Waves cane* Anyways onto the questions.

@Crunchy English: At the start of the thread there was a file that time for them passes much more slowly then us (EX: 1 day here may be 1 second for them), but with the way we connect now that is invalid. We are connecting at a specific moment in time and can't move forward. Think of it as a snapshot from a camera if you will.
From the minor AI that is a new response I haven't heard. I did try to backtrack the log for the chatbot but failed in that respect (Naughty me!)
The password for the email is the same you used to access the diary.

@sublimetime: I suspect it's just a revamp just like they did with the rest of EP1. Lot's of stuff was changed. I guess it's too be expected.
On the decoding part I'm just waiting on a response from Henry. If all else fails I could spam a post at Alvarez giving details so he can track down the rest of the brains, but I think we're just waiting. (It's the price to pay for the game being developed alongside the ARG)

So I wanted to post here as a sort of update and say I've emailed Vidal. I'm hoping for some kinda update from the PM's, but we'll see.

I'll edit if anything juicy comes my way.

Sooo it would seem my email was taken not just as email back to soothe our fears but something at tad bit bigger.

This was posted two days ago on the Corporate page:
Quote:
I apologize for my rather long hiatus, but unfortunately we here at iDGi had very little choice in the matter. For over three months now and just officially ending two days ago, we have been on a Government sectioned lock-down. Any and all information regarding the events I'm about to describe to you was entirely restricted under threat of permanent shutdown of the project and of this company.

Now, let me explain why the lock-down. There are actually several reasons: 1) The device which we were using to calibrate further jumps in time has been destroyed by parties unknown. 2) The man capable of rebuilding/fixing the device has been kidnapped and possibly killed by parties unknown. 3) The iDGi-1 satellite itself has also been physically sabotaged; you guessed it, by parties unknown. So this means that even if we manage to make another recalibration device, we'd still need to physically repair iDGi-1 in order to make any forward jumps – understandably this is something neither NASA nor the Canadian Government are too happy to help us with right now.

Before I get to the details of the above, I've first got some good news to report. While we have not been able to communicate with the outside world, we have still been hard at work with David Schelter and his people. Our efforts to create a workable upgrade for iDGi-1, which would allow us fully-3D visualizations within the other side, are still moving full steam ahead. David has asked that I do not speak more on these upgrades until we are closer, but it sure has everyone around here very excited. It has our government friends excited as well, as the possibilities could turn out to be nearly endless.

Another piece of good news I suppose is that we may have found a workaround method for connecting to the other side without the satellite parts that have been overloaded (I'll explain this overloading in a minute). The only problem with our plan so far, once we get it working, is that we'll only be able to obtain one to three seconds of connectivity at a time – and there's no way of telling when in time we'll be connecting to for those few seconds. We are fairly sure at least that we'll be connecting to the same timeline in which we are awaiting the next time-jump and NOT the alternate-timeline still (hopefully) progressing on the iDGi Forums. Our ultimate goal with these short interval connections is to try and make contact with K-1 and ultimately get his help to finish our upgrades. Really though, there's no way of telling what we're going to find when we have the system in place and we begin making jumps.

Now let's talk about these "Parties Unknown" I spoke of above. We can only imagine that this is a single group doing this to us, but so far we have not heard a word from anyone. The only reason the Government is releasing the gag order on our company is because they have no proof that Dr. Resin is even alive, nor if there will be any further threat to us. We've upped security in our offices ten-fold and that seems to have been enough. I guess now I just want to know WHY?? Who is doing this and why? It's driving us all pretty crazy trying to figure out.

I'll admit that we weren't exactly Fort Knox when a small group of armed and masked people broke into our offices in the middle of the night and destroyed the calibration device. They then proceeded to upload a program to iDGi-1 which caused key systems to overload themselves – systems of course directly related to its ability to calibrate NEW combinations. They had enough knowledge to pull off something so specific and I suppose that's what worries me most. Why didn't they try to overload more systems and cause more damage?

At the exact same time as the break-in at our offices, Dr. Resin was kidnapped from his home in the Kitsilano area of Vancouver. Whoever has committed these crimes has not made any attempt to contact us. We have not heard a single thing and the police have all but given up, most of them think Resin is dead. I don't believe he is. Personally, I believe that whoever is behind this is just waiting to get some attention before they'll come forward. Is this attention enough, you sons of bitches?

I'll finish by asking if anyone out there in the land of the Web has any information regarding Dr. Resin's kidnapping OR the attack on our offices in Burnaby – please contact me immediately. Otherwise I can only ask that you be patient with us as we work on these upgrades and also hope with us that someone from the alternate timeline re-establishes contact soon, to at least let us know they're still there.

I'm already going to say that the main suspect in the cast in my mind is Schelter. I mean we already know the Schelter in this timeline has alternative motives (as proved when he emailed me back that time)

Now why is a very hard thing to say. Of course Vidal won't suspect him outright because I never told him about Schelter's email so I could try to get into his good graces.

I wanted to offer to email Schelter again and to push about giving him info on the Cortex device (which we know alot more of now) maybe I can get into his good graces and info? (Though I'll wait to see if you guys think that's a good idea.)

Finally I guess I'll say it's got to be someone in the company itself if not the group. (Like Vidal said the attack was too specific.)

Anyone read this thread anymore?

Anyways new update on the forum. Seems that Alvarez found the detonator and K-1 had to give up the facility for fear of being blown up.

Of course Alannah is being decieved big time by K-1.

Also Melinda never died? Bah!

I've been thinking of posting and trying to get across info by sidetalk. (Basically by not saying directly what I mean since Henry can probably modify any message through the link.)

Thoughts?

I'm still following. I always have been since the beginning of E2. I've just been really inactive because, this being one of my first games, I didn't think to take notes or anything and I've completely lost track of the story with everything being so spaced out like this. I'll be happy to give my input if you (or anyone else) could give me a very quick summary (not a play-by-play or anything, just the key points that, most importantly, tell me what the major conflicts/plot twists are, and what we should be ultimately trying to do/who we're doing it with).

Ah. Well no one was responding so I was getting worried. Heh. But that's understanble I just have a good head for remembering stuff.

Anyways major plot points before updates:

Code from Unknown: Undecoded due to waiting for Henry's response.

Detonator: Alvarez was trying to find a way to grab it so they could stop Henry

Time Jump: Waiting on the time jump to get more cords and open up the second set.

Now the plot points from the updates

Detonator: Alvarez got in contact with Alannah and she and her friend got the detonator.

K-1: After the detonator was found Henry disguised himself as Malcolm and gave up the facility, and then killed Malcolm claiming he killed himself which we know isn't possible because his brain was destroyed by the gas.

Guards from Facility: The guards were dispersed home. (I) suspect these guards to have a motor chip inside their heads letting Henry control them at anytime

Detonator V2: We don't know where it is but we can suspect it's somewhere close by. This is probably Henry's objective to get it so he can't be blown sky high (which he now knows because of Alannah.)

David Schelter: He's come back from the missing, and says he was kidnapped by a Irish group. He was able to escape when Henry caused the havoc, and he's hiring Melinda Bellhurst and Brayden Shaw to come to the facility. Which we know were both responsible for the fiasco in the first place. Also it would appear Melinda did not die in the mobs. He's suppsoed to arrive at the facility in a few days.

That's bascially the points you should probably should know.

Ok, thanks a lot!

And my thoughts are:
Yeah, why don't you try to get through to her? She could very well be a good ally. She invented their virtual world, right? So that (combined with the fact that she just got a leg-up on K-1) means she has a good handle on technology and what-not. She might be able to help us with our connection problem in some form (perhaps her huge virtual world's huge amounof futuristic infrastructure (if it wasn't destroyed, that is) could be used as another connection point).

Sooo, how does this message sound to you guys:

Quote:
Hello Alannah!

If you are wondering about me I guess you can call me our spokesperson. I'm the main person who responds to posts here on the forums.

First off I'm shocked to hear from your side. We lost the connection with Alvarez awhile back because there was deliberate sabotage on our end. Someone broke into the building and uploaded something to overload critical parts of the satellite. So we never expected to hear something from your timeline. Maybe you could talk to Henry about how this was done it would help us repair our end?

I'm sorry to say I can't say much over this connection since it's not secure and I already know some parties listen into these posts.

First off I wanted to point out that someone you know already knows quite a bit about you. I'm going to attach a quote which you should be able to confirm or not "Alannah Boyle. Born; Galway, Ireland, June 23rd, 2006. Twin brother, Keiran Boyle; separated at age twelve. Recruited by the Special Reconnaissance and Protection Group of the Irish Armed Forces; age nineteen. Meets and befriends Jess and Kevin Chard as per a high-profile security assignment in London, England; age twenty-one. Guilty of killing seven security officers two kilometres east of Xalapa, Mexico; yesterday." I wanted to show this to you as a warning. Someone has a big crosshairs on you and I rather give you foresight into that.

On the other subjects. I would suggest you give at least a few people who guarded the place a full med examination. I think a x-ray would be great. Probably a full body scan would be the best sort. It's always important to check up on their health. I know you might find that a weird thought, but you know the weirdest questions have the weirdest answers!

I'm happy you found the detonator! Actually it's a funny thing since we were the one's to originally tell Alvarez about it. Actually do you know how that detonator came to be? Probably best to think on that little tid-bit. I mean it's kinda weird how detonators are connected mysteriously to explosives attached to the facility? Or if you do know then that should already give you thoughts. Either way it works out.

Oh, that's strange. Malcolm let you in? Hrm. Last I heard there was like a gas leak or problem in the facility. Maybe you should check Malcolm over for anything wrong? I would hate to hear the fire was caused because of a gas leak! We don't want that to hurt anyone. Also I heard from a secondary source (I can't say who) that there were shapes all over a room or (his) room? Strange, for a guy who should have been coordinating Henry.

I'm also suprised David was found after all this time. I heard from Walter about a soilder who was captured. He said they attacked the car and then got a ringing in between his ears. Like in the brain area, and before he fainted the passanger door opened of it's own free will. It makes me wonder if there's something out there that could affect the brain. Hrm. I think there was something similar to a reporter. Maybe check the newswire? The only reason I mention that is it sounds like David left the scene of his own free will. You should guage his reaction by mentioning "Clean Slate". If he reacts highly to it then please be careful.

Also about Melinda, that name rings a bell. Maybe check the newswire for Xalpa. I would point during the time period during the riots in the city. Also Brayden, I also heard a bit from Walter about him. He mentioned an incident where Brayden spread this really bad illness around the facility caused quite the uproar.

Finally I want to mention just in case there was a gas problem keep a portable gas mask with you at all times. One that could guard against dangerous chemicals. I would hate to hear about something bad happening to you.

I know this message must sound weird, but I really can't elaborate on how this connection is unsecure. It's not that I don't trust YOU. I just don't trust the way we communicate, and you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover!

-"A secret within a secret, and layer upon layer of meaning"

I've tried to be as vague as possible and still try to lead her the right way.

With as convoluted as this whole thing is, there probably is no perfect response. As far as responses go, however. Yours is pretty good. I will say, however, that the town is spelled Xalapa.
