Well that sux! So what does one do if the notepad is no longer there? I think that mr webmaster needs to fix that problem too if he's going to keep taking away all of our other shortcuts lol

Be patient? If the notepad icon is not there, it's most likely not there for a reason! I.E. you will probably end up receiving one of the other releases whenever it becomes available. So if they have "fixed" the directory workaround, then its GOOD you don't have an icon yet because we'll need you to give us whatever release you end up receiving!

Hmmm I was just screwing around with some of the links & addresses we've been playing with lately and I came across some strange shit:

I thought since the /sr_##/ directories had been closed out, where are the files downloading from?? I re-downloaded my file and it came from http://interdimensionalgames.com/cont/sarahk/ inside this directory there is a strange ass file named MSG____.txt with a bunch of gibberish inside. Does anyone know if that is code or actually just gibberish??

Also I typed in the old directory my file was originally downloaded from and it appears to not be closed out at all ( http://interdimensionalgames.com/cont/sr_06/ ) and my sr_06.zip file is missing but there is the same MSG____.txt file along with the .jpg piece of that IP.

I b /confused Confused

EDIT: my word is "taryn" btw in case you need it to get into these directories. I'm hoping this at least still works.

Haha, in HTML, it says:

This area of the interdimensionalgames.com server is directly linked to the rather chaotic nature of the inner workings of the iDGi-1 satellite. In other words, this is a protected area reserved for incoming data from the other dimension. It is tied directly with information we are retrieving, which is sporadic and wholly unpredictable! -VDesertch

Then protect your directory structures, buddy!

The msg in http://interdimensionalgames.com/cont/home/ says:

This area of the interdimensionalgames.com server is directly linked to the rather chaotic nature of the inner workings of the iDGi-1 satellite. In other words, this is a protected area reserved for incoming data from the other dimension. It is tied directly with information we are retrieving, which is sporadic and wholly unpredictable! -VDesertch

The way you get these is to grab the text, slap it in a notepad file, save it as whatever.HTML and open it in your web browser.

ahhh interesting... thanks Chezzo, good to know!!! I think maybe when he says those specific directories are "protected areas reserved for incoming data from the other dimension" maybe he means they are protected from receiving viruses and such from the other dimension?? along the lines of how he described the IDGI-1 safety shit in the email response b4??

I noticed now too that the /sr_06/ directory actually is no longer password protected!? unless this is just because my browser has saved a user/password or something and is automatically using it?! I wish I knew more about this stuff! haha

I can confirm the lack of password protection. Glad that, now we know that was a leak, it's been plugged. I don't wana go around any puzzles. On that note, we've got a new IPaddresser communication

well I still don't have a notepad, and access to these directories keeps changing so I am totally confused there, but at least I can still access the sound files -- although I've given up trying to piece them together Smile

the newest one, though, has a bizarre folder name:

YmFzZTY0IG9rIHdpdGggeW91Pw0K

did Henry faceroll his keyboard on that one lol?

All the new ones (epsilon 2 through 5) were uploaded today, after 8AM (I checked then). I'll try and dig through them tonight w/ audacity, see if I can find anything. Anyone make any sense of that folder title? I'm wondering if it's some form of crypto, though I've got no idea what.

Epsilon 2 looks like it's directed at us and our workarounds:p

Also, I don't know if you've been watching Vidal's twitter feed, but he mentioned a conversation he had with Henry---I contacted him and he's going to send me a transcript of the conversation. Should be an interesting read!

omg omg omg phreaking out new file, brb

Edit: Okay, done freaking out. I'm not going to be able to upload a lot of information right now (I'm on campus, between classes), but I'll upload what I just found. This is for you boys and girls with notepad icons.
SPOILER!

Spoiler (Rollover to View):

For those of you with the notebook file, try moving it over. A file appeared underneath it this morning/last night/sometime. I thought it was a graphical glitch, but there's a tiny line visible in the notebook file name, that's how I found it. I've attached the image of it with the rest of my icons moved out of the way.

I double clicked on it, and got the other attached image, with the word "sociology" (this computer's hangman word) spelled out on the right, broken into 3 letter chunks, and then 'soc' only, further down.

have fun!

Just got a better copy of the image of the new file. Here she is.

Edit: Upon closer examination, I realized that the image doesn't actually go through it's complete cycle in the first image capture I took. Between the two images newfilebeginning first and newfileclean second, you can see the entire cycle of text (begins at 49 at the top in newfilebeginning, ends at 49 in the bottom of newfileclean. Looks like I managed to catch the binary in one complete cycle in newfileclean though.

ooooh, I don't have the notepad lol so I can't get this file, but I recognize that stuff...

there's obviously binary: just typing some of it into a decoder gives
Quote:
eption is what

Then the next columns are Hex code: putting some of that into a decoder gives
Quote:
member much more than you.I

And that led me to think that the folder name earlier must be base 64, and sure enough, putting that into a decoder gives
Quote:
base64 ok with you?

I use http://home2.paulschou.net/tools/xlate/ to do this kind of stuff.

Nice website. When I get back from class, I'll toss the entire cycle into that decoder, unless someone's beaten me to it already.

On another note, there is no WAY they're tracking the logins via IP. I'm on my campus, on a dynamic wireless system, with a totally different IP address, and it still has my progress. I don't think it's via cookies either, because my firefox on my desktop clears all browsing history (including cookies) every time I close it, and it still has the same login information/files.

When this is all over, I really want to know how they're managing that.

Edit: Also, for those of you who're wondering, sociology isn't a random word, it's my burning house solution for this computer.

Message) I remember much more than you.

Edit: My binary is cut off in the picture since i was only paying attention to hex, but if you combine the binary that was captured with the previous translation bit in an earlier post, you get

Binary String) 01000010 01110101 01110100 00100000 01110000 01100101 01110010 01100011 01100101 01110000 01110100 01101001 01101111 01101110 00100000 01101001 01110011 00100000 01110111 01101000 01100001 01110100 00100000 01001001 00100000 01101110 01100101 01100101 01100100 00101110

Nice job Lyst. Also looks like we're getting crosschatter between the henrys(??) on the newest audio files (the embedded text files).....at least it seems like they're addressing each other. I'm also fighting with the audio files, but beyond scooby doo laughing, a sword being drawn, and the standard reversed audio...haven't found anything so far.

I don't know if the Henrys are talking to each other or if the single, bipolar Henry is talking to the Guardians. The new audio is on the wiki but I'm not sure of #80. It's the one with the drums. I don't know if it's one sentence split by the drums (Henry or the church), or if there is more that was replaced by the drums(Henry...or the church).
