...when you keep a 'creepy' journal full of totheark/Just Another Fool-esque ramblings and drawings. Just for the hell of it.

No joke. Whenever I look/go outside, I HAVE to check out the trees, even though I REEEAAAALLY don't want to. You know, just in case he's there.

Same here.

Also, when you start a Slender Man thing for your English class journal entries. The ones not set with a topic, that is.

Thirded. I live in the Texas hill country, so most of the trees on our property are dumpy cedars, but we have two stands of tall spindly trees near the house and a vine bush on an archway with a single vine-tendril that curls out right in the middle of the arch so you can't help but walk into it, unless you squeeze through the fence in order to avoid the arch entirely. I'm going to chop it off one of these days just for my peace of mind.

I went to take a picture of these things, but my camera, predictably, did not turn on. The batteries are just dead, but still.

Another thing I do: if I'm alone in the house at night, I tend to play really silly music on my laptop, if only because it's hard for me to picture anything slendering its way over to steal my organs to the tune of WAKE UP IN THE MORNING FEELING LIKE P-DIDDY.

I recently filled up my first sketchbook (art student lol) and I had to get a new one due to my compulsive need to draw. Now I've filled up a good ten or more pages of the new sketchbook, and only THREE of those drawings haven't been related to Slenderman. (Then again, they're mostly crack drawings.... I drew Slendy and Masky ice-skating last night for no apparent reason.)

SECONDED! I keep listening to random ass crap because maybe if Slendy comes in, he'll get distracted and dance with me.

Well, it finally happened. I had my first Marble Hornets-related nightmare last night. (Third nightmare bad enough to wake me in as many nights, which is highly unusual for me!) Unfortunately it didn't have Slendy in it (that I could see), but it did have Alex, Amy and J. I don't remember too much of it, but there was a search through a junkyard at sundown, and then Alex and Amy both roaming through a basement (not the Slendy Basement, just a regular basement that was exceedingly large), both of them toting pump-action shotguns(!). Then they followed a trail of blood to the body of a teenager that had been beaten to death, then skinned, with a rake. Shocked Amy understandably freaked out, and Alex was at once trying to calm her and convince her to get back up the stairs, when J came rushing down trying to tell them something.

And then I woke up. What the hell, brain- don't let me fall asleep until 2AM and then do that crap to me? I thought we were pals.

I keep having nightmares. I also have problems showering in the morning because no one else is home. However, any form of music gives me a sense of security. I mean, if he's gonna show up outta nowhere, at least my music will distort first.

I know what youmean, no one's ever home when I'm in the shower, so I pop in some showtunes from work and start singing. It helps with my job AND it keeps Slendy away. (Am I really that bad?)

BTW, My house gets dark at night, and I mean REALLY dark. as in high-octane nightmare fuel-dark

Anyways, yeah... and I get home from work at about midnight....

D: worst. Weekend. Ever.
So i finally had my first Slenderman nightmare- I don't remember much of it, but I do remember that I kept looking around, seeing Slenderman's lack-of-face, and then running.
D: so anyways I found out that the same night I had that nightmare, my whole dorm building's power went out. I shit you not.
And it doesn't even end there... This weekend I had a panic attack, albeit about unrelated topics. (School stress is pretty much destroying me.) I FINALLY get calmed down, drift off to a nice sleep, and our alarm system starts going off. At 1 in the morning. Turns out the power went out, and a few minutes after the power went out, the alarm system was triggered. The police showed up and started SCANNING THE CAMPUS WITH A FLASHLIGHT and I was certain a tentacle was going to snake out of the dark and drag one of them off into the bushes.
They say the alarm went off as a result of the power outage. Bullshit. I know the power and the alarm BOTH happened because SM was sneaking into my campus D: this is the local hub for MH-fans and believers-in-slenderman, after all.... more paranoia-food for him.

That's pretty epic! I don't think that anything will ever beat the night that Kat and I (while still living on campus) were both up quite late at night. The power went out while we were watching a movie... which isn't all that uncommon. However, we were living on the first floor at the time, and it was quite silent, until we heard a tell-tale slow, methodical "scrrrrrrch" noise that was exactly like Pyramid Head's huge blade, dragging along just outside the window, which fronted a walkway around the back of the building.

Luckily it seemed to pass us by, but the both of us did not sleep well that night.

Slender Man is terrifying for his own reasons. I think that spotting a tall, ungainly suited man will never be quite so unnerving as noises from pitch darkness, though!

D: UGH. Pyramid head may possibly be the only thing that scares me more than Slenderman. I haven't even played a game all the way through, just watched some friends play, and I'm not sure if I WANT to play any of the games as a result of that giant-blade-wielding mofo.
D: i know what you mean, too. We have a lot of weird pipes and faulty water systems in my dorms, so there's all sorts of freaking weird noises in the middle of the night. I got used to them eventually, but now because of MH I'm hyperaware of everything creepy that occurs around me.

...oy. So. I like to look up meditation and hypnosis videos on YouTube (since I'm sometimes stricken with insomnia and have a bit of a stress problem). I happened upon a video that started off fairly calming... until I noticed a sound in the background. A soft, repetitive sound. Almost... like... tapping.... Shocked

Have a listen.

Seriously, I'm starting to understand how that guy in The Tell-Tale Heart felt. Crying or Very sad

Wow, that sounds very much like the tapping in a few MH videos. I wonder...does it help with the hypnosis?
