Thom swallowed nervously as the soldier reloaded his gun.

"Ah...well..." He wetted his suddenly dry lips. "It's a little hard to believe; I'm finding it...rather difficult to accept, myself..."

Difficult to accept? He was suspecting a freaking Internet phenomenon. The entire thing was ridiculous.

"In fact, I've had no evidence to support my suspicions until about twenty minutes or so ago." He paused, frowning slightly. "Actually, I've had no evidence to support any suspicions; I've had no suspects until just now." He corrected himself. "And I'm going to sound more than a little bit crazy when I say what I think it is."

There, he'd done it already; said 'what', instead of 'who'.

"Right," He took a deep, calming breath, and wished for chocolate. "Have you heard of the Slenderman?"

So what were they to do, wait? The Ghost followed the Masked One, unsure of what, precisely, they were to do until the time came when they attacked the S-Walkers again. It was very awkward being with the other protege of the Tall One, since they were used to working alone. One last glance showed that the soldiers had spotted them walking further into the trees, and so the Ghost began to run.

"A slender guy? Sure, seen and heard of plenty of 'em. What has that got to do with anything?

[Gutter]

Thom shook his head slowly, debating silently whether it was really such a good idea to just go blathering on about this.

Well, they had guns, and he had to say something. So why not the truth, crazy as it was.

"Not just a 'slender guy'. The Slenderman. That's all one word, 'slenderman'. He's..." Thom trailed off, frowning as he tried to work out he best way to say this. "Well. He's...very tall. And thin. And...wears a suit." He grimaced.

This explanation was not going well.

"Look, it's crazy and stupid, but I'm suddenly beginning to worry that it's actually true and if it is then we're all completely screwed; we're dead, no way about it."

Mike's face flashes a sudden look of concern for this person before him.

"So...this...Slenderman...he seems to worry ya a great deal. Clearly you need help. Why don't you tell me about this Slenderman...then I can determine what help you need..."

He shifts his body into a position that puts him on guard in case this disturbed man attacks.

[Gutter]

Thom sighed, exasperated, and removed his glasses to rub his tired eyes.

"I knew it..." He mumbled. Of course it would sound crazy. Of course it would. If someone had told him about the Slenderman without him having prior knowledge of it, he would have reacted in exactly the same way, minus the gun.

He pushed his glasses back up his nose.

"I assure you, I'm perfectly stable. I didn't believe it myself until only about twenty minutes ago, like I said. And I'd really rather not believe it. But I'm also very concerned that bullets will have basically no effect."

Here's a suggestion I just thought up: I don't think we need to know what Masky, the Ghost, and Slendey are up to unless it pertains to the other characters, such as the S-Walkers or civilians. This leaves the nature and time of their attacks/events ambiguous, so it is a surprise for both the characters and the players themselves.

Although, if needed for the sake of dramatic tension, you could state what Slendy is up to, even if he's not anywhere near the other players. It just makes the players who read it go "OSHIT" if he is headed there way

Bryce's ears perked up at the description of the Slenderman. Deciding it was too important not to interrupt, he burst in
"You mean the tall man, right? I know some stuff about him."

"If it bleeds, I can kill it. If it burns..." Mike pats the grenade launcher, "I can make it go boom. Now...for both our sakes, why don't ya just...settle down and tell me what you know...If something is coming for you, I can handle it."

Through all this, Mike does not drop his defense posture.

Suddenly, he hears Bryce.

"Well, well well, party just keeps getting bigger. Who might you be?"

WOW, totally missed this thread. So, that is the guy that Mike thinks is crazy.

Bryce started slowly inching forward.

"Well, my name's Bryce, I'm a doctor from around here.... Well, I was, this place looks like it's going to hell now. You've mentioned the Slenderman, although I know him as the tall man. Ever since I was a child, he's been following me. The last 6 years or so he's disappeared, but now he's back, he's killed my parents, and I'm tired of running. If you guys are looking for a way to kill that bastard, count me in."

Mike shakes his head trying to make sense of all this. Two people reporting some tall thin guy as a huge threat to one guy armed to the teeth with a group of his fellow armed folk not too far off is enough to convince him that either there is some mass hysteria or something real to be cautious of.

"Ok, listen, I ain't promising anything but for now, lets head back that way..." He points back in the direction of the military who, unknown to him until now, appear to be all panicking about something.

"Oh s**t! Follow me, fellas..." he calls before booking back to the group.
