"Yeah, same dumbass. Oh, I'm sorry, right, his name is the Overseer," she mumbled angrily. "My unit and I were on inactive duty. In a few months, we would have been home-free," she said. "I'm the only Ranger alive that was sent here," she said grimly.

"When all this is over and done with, I need to go back there, into the forest. They should rest in peace too," she said softly.

She took a look at the bottle and took a large swig from it, gulping it down gingerly. "Needed that..." She handed the bottle back to him so he himself could take a drink.

Fission mailed? Ain't that from a video game...

Mia tried to push herself up again, but her body was too weak. Somehow this did not click in her head to tell her that she shouldn't take a shower at the moment. Unaware of Jake sleeping right in front of the couch, she bit her lip and rolled off right on top of him. She let out a yelp of surprise. "Oh my god, Jake, I'm sorry, I didn't know you were here," she gasped.

Mike took a swig of the bottle and passed it back. "Yeah, Fission Mailed..." he said, chuckling. He had to find humor where he could, given all this s**t going on around him.

"So...back in the day, we had a PS2 in our barracks. We would all gather 'round and watch people play, taking turns, drinking, throwing punches..." Mike said, with a smile, "...Anyway...we played this one game...Metal Gear Solid 2...later on, all sortsa freaky s**t happened, even a game over looking screen that said Fission Mailed. I watched some poor sap reset immediately after seeing that. Hahaha....ah, what a dumba$$."

He started digging again.

Faye peered up at Gavin, who had crawled over to where she was curled on the floor. Careful not to wake anyone else, Faye slid into a sitting position, wiping her forehead with a wrist. "Yeah, yeah, just a nightmare...You can go back to sleep, you probably need it more than I did." Giving him a grin, she glanced around, then noticed the new boy, Andrew, was asleep. She smiled, glad that he was getting some sleep.

His personality seemed to wear on others, but maybe sleep would soften his defensive edge. Looking towards Jake, she turned just in time to see Mia tumble to the ground, landing on top of Jake.

Jake was suddenly, and startingly, awoken from sleep by something landing on him, a knee colliding painfully with his stomach. Jake curled in on his stomach, wheezing in pain, eyes watering. Groggily, he looked up at his assailant. Mia.

"Oh my god, Jake, I'm sorry, I didn't know you were here." Jake swallowed dryly, then said, "Gah, it's okay, I probably should've warned you before I fell asleep." Rubbing his sore stomach, he tried to sit up, but he stopped struggling after a second, not wanting to dump Mia onto the floor. "You know, I've heard of dropping in on a friend, but this is a very literal way to do so..." He grinned at Mia, trying to look serious, and failing.

"Oh, man, I remember that game. 'BROTHERS!' she exclaimed. "'Liquid?!'" She laughed.

"I haven't played a video game in a long time," she smiled, grabbing back the bottle and drinking a bit from it. It tasted good.

A few minutes passed and she spoke. "My turn yet?"

"I know, I'm really sorry," Mia said, blushing. "Oh god, my knee hit your stomach... are you okay?" She rolled off of him as best she could, kneeling next to him, hand on his stomach, her eyes wide. "Oh jesus I'm sorry.."

David headed back to the kiving room after checking all the rooms in the house were safe.

"Looks like everyones waking up. Mike and Kate went over to Gav's to get some grub, everything here is way past the experation date."

Gavin grinned.

"No thanks I've gotten all the sleep I need." he whispered, chuckling as Mia rolled onto Jake and Jake fumbling." In this house and with this group, It's like a family. And without em, It's really boring." he smiled a little less after whispering that. Then he smiled.

"Your not the only one who had a nightmare you know. I bet mine was way scarier than yours!"

Oh my god, what's with all the noise? His eyes opened to see the scene in front of him. Wow then he whispered.

"Guess I can't leave you two alone for five seconds can I?" he said to Jake and Mia

"Oh god, my knee hit your stomach... are you okay?"

Jake blushed a bit as Mia's hand touched his bare stomach, then grinned. "Nah, s'okay, seriously." He snorted suddenly, then added, "Trust me, it was much more pleasant than receiving a foot to the man-package. I've lost count of the number of times Faye's gotten angry and kicked me where no man should be kicked..."

Smirking, Jake pushed himself up into a sitting position, but his smile faded a bit, as he asked Mia, "Hey, you probably shouldn't be moving around a whole lot after that experience you had earlier. Are you feeling better?"

He looked up at David as he walked in, nodding a hello, before looking at Mia again, his green eyes questioning. The new kid, Andrew, spoke up, and Jake turned to look at him, raising an eyebrow. "Jealous, kiddo?" he said, amused.

Faye looked away from Gavin as David came into the room. Tousled blonde hair haloed around her face, and she stretched a bit, before grinning at David. "Hey, D. 'Sup?"

"Your not the only one who had a nightmare you know. I bet mine was way scarier than yours!" Gavin recaptured Faye's attention, and she grinned at him. "Is that a challenge?" she jibed, her eyes gleaming in amusement.

Faye looked up at Andrew as he spoke, her grin growing almost Chesire-like.

"Guess I can't leave you two alone for five seconds can I?"

Faye snickered, then said, "Maybe they need a chaperone..." Jake shot her a look, and she laughed again, winking at him.

Mike looked down. Seemed like it might be big enough now.

"I dunno...I think it might fit both. What do you think?"

He grinned and remembered the scene when Raiden was Naked. "Haha, Remember when Raiden was covering his junk while pummeling people? THAT is how I wanna live my life. Even when buck nekkid, still beating people up."

"He caught a cold, if I'm not mistaken, so maybe it's not such a good idea," she laughed. She passed him the bottle, standing up, and took a good look at the hole. "Seems like it's big enough. Now comes the...slightly harder part," she murmured, looking back at the house. She frowned.

"We're used to it, at least," she murmured, seeming a little sad.

Mia blushed slightly as Jake talked about Faye kicking him in his, as he called it, 'man package.' Then she heard the other boy speak and Jake's response to him. "Yeah, he's acting terribly jealous," Mia said, narrowing her eyes at Andrew. She turned back to Jake. "I just wanted to take a shower, since I haven't yet, and everyone else has. I'm feeling better but I just couldn't sit up."

She heard Faye, behind her, suggest a chaperone for the two and turned her head, blushing. "I just fell off the couch, I didn't know he was right there!"

Andrew chuckled.

"You know it man!" he said with a smile. "I got myself kidnapped and brought to a strange town to meet chicks!" He laughed. He considered this whole thing a big joke.

Gavin smiled at Faye as she chuckled.

"Maybe it is, and maybe it isn't. You can either tell me your dream, or be a baby and not tell." he smiled. He could never tell his real dream so he'd have to improvise on the spot.

"...Well...no. I've seen action but...I ain't no ranger. I...I never had to bury my dead." Mike kinda shivered.

"After we are done here, we can get your squad. I think if we get a few to help us and David to part with his vehicle, we could get them a proper rest too."

He started walking to what he previously regarded as a bad paint job and grabbed one end. Given the way they were mutilated, even that small movement made some of the gore ooze out. Mike couldn't help himself, covered his mouth in one hand, ran to a window, smashed it with his free elbow, and puked.

Kate grimaced slightly as she saw Mike let out whatever was in his system after grabbing the bodies. "Hey, you dug most of the grave, let me take care of this," she said, patting his back. "Okay?" she said, leaning over the counter to see if he was okay, and okay with it.

One of the few things I wished I hadn't experienced. He shouldn't have to go through with what I did.
