Gavin waited for Faye and David to return. He thought he heard Dave say something, but wasn't paying much attention. So he let his mind wander.

We have to leave after the funeral. It isn't going to be safe forever. Maybe if we leave the state it will go find other people.

He finally looked at the door. Faye was taking a little longer than expected. I wonder what the heck is going on in there.

Faye scowled at David, giving him a quick whack upside the head. "Angel's voices? Man, that collision with the roof of the car must've finally knocked out the remainder of your brain cells..."

Leaning back against the wall, slightly winded, Faye said. "C'mon, D, we should go inside. Kate and Mike buried Gavin's parents...and we're gonna have a little service for them, let Gav say his goodbyes, all that jazz..."

David laughed at Faye not noticing that super obvious compliment he had just gave her. "I know how the kid feels, having someone close to you die. We should try our best to help 'im get through it so he doesn't try to do the same dumb shit I did."

Gavin decided to think. It was nearing the end of the second day since this whole thing started. 48 hours of life-changing events.

I found my parents dead. I shot at my new family. I met Mike, Faye, Terrence, David, Mia, Jake, Kate.....It's hard to keep track of everyone. I encountered the monster with my family, and survived. I remembered about Dave.......shit I need to talk to him. he thought marching towards the garage.

And I kissed Faye was his final thought nearing the garage door.

Faye nodded at Dave, confirming her agreement with what he'd just said, then straightened, thumping her head on the door as she leaned back out the window. "OW." She cursed a bit, holding the back of her head. Of course she'd thump her head when she already had a concussion. Of course.

Mia laughed a bit as she heard Jake tell her she was bossy. She walked into the bedroom, looking around for where the makeup would be kept. She figured the short wardrobe near the mirror would be the most likely spot and began opening drawers, rifling through them.

She looked up, seeing him leaning against the doorframe, eyes gleaming. "Aren't you gonna help me?" she asked sweetly, giving him a disarming smile.

Faye frowned at David, rubbing her head, eyes watering. "I'll run away first," she grinned, sticking her tongue out, "You just lost yourself all Faye-carrying privileges, jerkface!" Tossing her hair melodramatically, she pretended to ignore him, turning her head and "humph"ing loudly.

She managed to keep a straight face for about 20 seconds before bursting out laughing.

Jake pushed himself off the door frame, cackling, his arms crossed still as he trudged over to Mia, watching her rummage, eyes gleaming in the weird lighting of the room. He smirked suddenly. "Watch out, don't lean over too far in the skimpy little towel, sweetheart," he said, a mischevious smirk on his face.

"Hah!" Mia laughed. "Don't worry about me, just keep track of yourself. And no peeking if I do," she said, glancing up at him coyly. "Of course, you wouldn't do that." Not finding it in the wardrobe, she stood up, facing him. She tilted her head slightly as she smiled up at him. "Right?"
