Gripping the ground with both hands, Terrence's fingers clawed into the ground and he doubled over, vomiting. It was always like this after the 'jump', as he'd come to call it. His white hair fell on either side of his face, and he wretched horribly one last time.

Rising to his feet shakily, the young man looked around for the Message he was sure would be there. His answer came in the form of a tree about ten feet from his face, with words carved into it. Upon closer inspection, he found the words to be quite legible, though very scrawled.

'timehascome'

Terrence took a step back, eyes wide, a shocked look on his face. Usually the messages were not like this. They almost always had something to do with the killing he was about to see the Tall One carry out. And yet, here he saw no victim and no Tall One. How could that be?

The breach of routine almost scared Terrence, but the gun shot he heard from a hundred yards to his left scared him even worse. Something was going on, and Terrence was going to find out what. Sprinting as far as his legs could take him, he headed off toward the source of the sound....

"Let's go." Caren whispered, her hand resting on the handle of her handgun. "I'm Caren." She then said, voice still low so they could listen. "Call me Nik."

As soon as Caren arrived in this place, there seemed to be something slightly off. The birds didn't chirp as loudly nor did mammals seem to show themselves. Everyone was on edge, but for a reason. Maybe the S-Man wasn't the only thing here. She couldn't imagine living in a place that seemed so...haunted.

Making a point to not whipser Mike starts "So...Nik...you seem to know a touch more on all this then we do. Care to enlighten us? Or perhaps you..." Mike turns to the Overseer, "...perhaps you can fill us in a little more?"

I finished preparations and started searching for a primary base. From there I can be gin a search for the S-Unit. They have to know how to kill Him. It's strange, although I am always seeing Him, He never attacks me or anyone I know. He wants something from me. But what

Stephen had made it to the town, still on an adrenaline rush he kept running. He was so scared, he had no where to go, he had not known what to do.

Then, he tripped, and hit the ground.

He sat up and calmed himself down, his heart was still racing, and he felt more tired than ever.

He felt like he was in danger though.

Like he was about to encounter something.

Mia, peeking out the window, saw the guy run into view only to trip and fall. He seemed panicked, but rather than continuing to run, he stayed on the ground.

"Maybe that means there's nothing around," she thought to herself.

Deciding to take her chances, she leaned more out the window and whispered, "Hey."

Alison kept her weapon poised and hurried her way over towards the Overseer and other squads. She skidded a little bit on the dirt, but gained her balance back and stood straight. She saluted once and held the carbine at the ready.

Stephen looked over at the girl leaning out the window. "Hello?" He asked.

He was relieved to see another person, and dropped his guard a bit.

Probably a bad mistake.

((Whoa, I slept too long))

With all the yelling and gunfire, Bryce wasn't sure if it was safe to continue. Whoever was ahead probably had food and shelter set up.

Now he was seeing weird images and messages carved into the trees around him. As Bryce passed by, he read some of the less intricate ones.

"keeprunning"
one read.

"dontlookback"
said another.

Bryce finally came upon the campfire. It was only 10 meters ahead, and, trying to be as stealthy as he could, Bryce tried sneaking up on the site. However, his phone had no intentions of letting that happen. Letting off another sharp BEEP it alerted all around to the presence of the intruder.
"Shit" Bryce said to himself.

Now, he was completely at the mercy of whoever had the gun.

Approaching the place where he hadfirst heard the gunfire, Terrence skidded to a halt and kicked up a fair amont of dirt in the process.

Seeing a small group of men and women walking toward him, he became frightened and uneasy, darting into the trees by the side of the road. It wasn't that he wasn't glad to finally see another living human, it was just that it was so...unusual too.

All of Terrence's life, if one could even call it that, he had never had any interaction between another living being, save a few animals and restaraunt employees where he'd stopped to eat. Most humans he had come in contact with were either strangers, or victims of The Tall One, being torn to pieces before his eyes.

As the small band of people drew nearer, Terrence observed that they were wearing protective gear and were well armed. This meant, to Terrence, that they could be hostile, even if they were potential allies. In order to have a better understanding, he would have to keep his distance.

Just then, a young boy with ragged brown hair emerged onto the road, and began heading towards the group of armed officials. Instinctively, Terrence wanted to tell him to stop, but his better judgement told him that that would reveal his position.

Besides, as Terrence glanced up, he caught sight of something which chilled him to the bone. A man with a painted white face was staring down through the trees at the boy, madness glittering in his dark eyes. Terrence knew the man in the trees, he served The Tall One. A pang of rage shot through the blue eyed man's whole body. Any man who served that foul Tall One wasn't a man at all, in his eyes.

Seeing the man here, however, did not surprise him. Often there were one of two individuals with The Tall One, the Masked Man or this other one. It only meant that The Tall One required assitance at the time.

Croushing low into the underbrush, Terrence continued to watch the small group of soldiers, intent on solving whatever riddle was occuring here.

Before anyone could be harmed.

The Ghost was thoroughly amused at this point; much chaos had broken out after he had dropped that mere stone, and now many of the Tall One's enemies were gathered. If they congregated here, perhaps he would hear what they intended to do. Just then, the boy's phone beeped, alerting the others to his presence. Suddenly the Ghost swiveled his head toward yet another newcomer. and it seemed that this one was aware of his presence.

He was not unnerved in the slightest; he would get his chance to serve the Tall One, just as the Masked One had during the Marble Hornets incident. Right now, however, things were becoming... too still. The Ghost scoured his pockets, but he was out of projectiles. And so he did the only thing he could do: let out a primal howl, immediately leaping between several trees to keep them from getting a clear location.

Mia decided she'd trust him for the time being. She waved her hand out the window, motioning the boy closer. "Come up here. Wait. Is there anything down there with you?" she asked, looking around a bit. "There's nothing in this house, it seems pretty safe."

The Overseer swung his gun back up, the howl reaching his ears. Dammit, too many people had come too fast, he couldn't keep track of all of it.

"EVERYBODY, LOOK IN THE TREES!"

He backed up now, aiming his gun at the trees. Glancing back at the others, he couldn't help but notice how the group had grown. He walked over to Bryce carefully.

"Get with the others, we'll protect you. Go on!"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Masked One turned as he heard the howl, a low growl coming from his mouth. So he'd been sent as well?

He ran back into the trees, following his "brother"

As Bryce walked toward the group, he couldn't help shivering.
"What the hell was that thing? It... It sounds familiar, but almost like I've heard it in a dream before."

The horrifically inhuman howl of the Painted Faced One hit a chord with Terrence's thoughts, as he realized that he had been entirely correct; no human who served The Tall One could ever be considered a man.

Peering out through the bushes, he watched the figure of the Painted Faced One darting between trees, as one of the military men, apparently the leader, shot futiley in the wrong direction. The Painted Faced One moved cunningly about, howling all the while, and Terrence's nerves began to wear thin.

But it was at this moment that he noticed another figure in the trees, on his side this time, darting forward to examine the situation. With a light gasp, Terrence realized that it was in fact another servant of The Tall One, the Masked Man.

Never had he encountered a situation where both of The Tall One's protege had appeared in the same place. It was almost invariably one or the other. Now, more than ever, Terrence knew something was wrong.

Realizing that the Masked Man was not aware of his prescence, he tucked a lock of white hair behind his ears and swiveled back through the trees, trying to keep up with the inhuman speed of the Masked Man and stay hidden behind him at the same time.

Maybe, if he was lucky enough, he could track the Masked Man, and find some semblance of answer to the mystery that was The Tall One.
