Gavin held Mia's hand. He didn't want to believe. it. It's not like he was closest to Mia but still to him she was family. Tears streaked down his face. He did something he knew was cliche, but he didn't care. He leaned in by her ear and said,

"I'm sorry I couldn't save you." He picked up her body and moved it near a tree. No time to bury it, but he thought it was better then leaving her in the grass. He walked back and had to focus on the rest of the group now. He whispered back one last time as he walked to the suburban. "Goodbye, Mia"

Faye was laying with an ice pack on her head and Terrence was getting treated by Kate. I swear Mia, In your memory I will protect these people.

Faye refused all attempts to make her lay down or leave her spot next to Terrence, but she did accept the ice pack Jake had handed her, holding it against her forehead. The cold helped her focus a bit more, and she sat, knees pulled up against her chest, chin resting on them. Staring at Terrence, she watched dully as Kate treated him. He was still muttering quietly to himself, looking slightly dazed.

For a few moments, Faye didn't realize, nor know, why she was crying, but she was. Tears had spilled out of eyes. Dammit...Mia's dead, I'm afraid for Terrence and everyone else, and I hate to admit it, but I hurt. Alot. She wrapped her arms around her knees, shielding her face, and just sobbed, trying to be as quiet as possible. It felt good to cry though, because she'd been holding tears in ever since she'd gotten into this town.

The poor man was overwhelmed, tears streaming down his face and blood trickling down one side of his head from the wound he had taken some time earlier. Though physically there was nothing that wrong with terrence, his blue eyes showed a torrent of pain and misery finally welling up from deep inside him somwhere. This was the result of coming face-to-face with his tormentor of so many years.

Without warning his sobbing began anew and he lunged at Kate, burying his face in her shoulder. Years of isolation and lonelinesscame collpasing down on him. Was this what he was reduced to, when the gloves came off? A crying wreck of a man who's entire lfie had been taken away from him? Clutching desperately at Kate's clothes, he bawled like a small child.

That desperate need for companionship that all human beings possess surfaced now, tearing at Terrence's heart. His blue eyes stung with tears, and he muttered feebly, unable to formulate words properly to explain what had happened to make him this way. Try as he might to talk, the crying made him incoherent and unintellgible.

When a few of the tears receded and he could see for a few moments, the first face he made out was Faye's, and his own white hair framing her. He calmed down slightly, recognizing a friend, and hearing Kate mutter "You're going to be okay, sir" to him quietly. Focusing all his might on forming words, he spoke to Faye.

"F-F-Faye...?" He sounded more child-like than he'd meant to. "He s-said...not me...never...m-me..."

Kate was a little shocked when he just tossed himself onto her, but she wasn't one to push him away. The man was a wreck, crying into her uniform.

She sighed and just held him up, making sure he didn't slip and fall.

Poor guy... She heard his crying slow down and then he muttered a few words to Faye. She couldn't make out what he said but she tried to help him up a little. "Hey, relax, it's going to be fine, you're okay," she said, in a soothing voice. It was kinda hard to sound soothing with her experience.

She wasn't a medic. That was Douglas' job. He could calm anyone down, really. "Mind telling me your name, sir?"

Faye lifted her head when Terrence addressed her, swallowing and rubbing her eyes with her sleeve.

What Terrence said sent a small shiver of dread down her bruised back, and she stared at him, her eyes huge, pupil dilated. The world spun for a second, then realigned, and Faye focused in on Terrence's eyes. She'd never seen that look on anyone's face, and seeing it on the face of someone as close as family scared Faye more than the Tall Man ever could.

And what about what he said..."Not me, never me?"...what could that even mean? That means that thing won't kill him, though, if it left him alone in the forest...But what did it mean? What does he mean? Faye was distracted from her feverish thoughts at Terrence's face. He looked like a child, defenseless. Faye was seized by an uncharacteristic urge, and she leaned over, slowly slipping her arms around Terrence, hugging him tightly, feeling him shaking under her arms. Her head gave another particularly brutal twinge, and she winced, gripping Terrence tighter for a second.

She was whispering, "It's okay, shhh, we'll figure this out...you're safe now." But internally, she was wondering, Terrence may be safe, but how long can the rest of us stay alive?

She glanced up, still holding Terrence, when Kate asked his name, not sure if he could answer yet.

Mike found some vodka and poured it liberally onto the back of his head, causing him to hiss in pain.

"Well, antiseptic/Painkiller, right?" he said, as he downed some more of the bottle.

He tripped over some of the red mess left over by the owner's paint job but caught his footing before he fell. He wandered a little bit until he found a bedroom. Using his machete, he hacked off a strip of the sheet, soaked it in vodka, then wrapped it around his head.

He heard something that sounded like a bottle of pills fall and, in fact, saw a small white object on the floor. He picked them up and it felt like the label had been ripped off. Even without the label, he knew that alchohol and pills don't mix but the pain was such that he couldn't care less. He popped a pair of them and felt his muscles relax and his pain eased after a short time. Then, he just kinda sat down and waited for the owners to come by and help him out.

T-T-Terrence..." Still red from crying, the man's blue eyes flickered from face to face, making out who of the original group was still with them. He could spot Gavin, Kate, Faye, and Jake. But there were a few, like Mia and Mike, who were missing. He closed his eyes and relaxed as Faye reached out and took hold of him like he was an infant.

For a moment, eyes shut, Terrence was in his own small world. He shivered with fright at the blankness of his mind, but also took great comfort that he could escape the chaos of what was going on around him. Faces floated before him...The Masked Man, The Tall One, Faye, Kate, Mike, Gavin...

Finally drawing a deep breath and steeling his lungs, he looked through his white bangs at Faye, who was nervously caressing him. Terrence had returned. His cold, calculating blue eyes scanned about anxiously and, although still somewhat shaken, he backed off from Faye and blushed at her and Kate. His eyes said "I'm sorry," but all of his posture said "Thank you."

"The T-Tall One...he wont kill m-me, Faye...I don't kn-know what it means..."

Gavin was looking at Terrence. The once calm and cool man was broken down and crying on Faye's shoulder. He wanted to go over and tell Terrence it was going to be okay, but he wasn't sure of that. No, it was a downright lie. He wasn't surprised to see him tell Faye. She had something about her that drew people in. She was his best friend for that reason......

Faye. he didn't know much about her personally but he liked her a lot.......no......who was he kidding. He loved Faye. She was the greatest person he'd ever met. He had no friends growing up. They first met when he nearly shot her. But she wasn't mad at him. Ever. He was going to do one thing for sure.

Keep Faye safe. He would give everything he had to keep the others safe, but he would die before anything killed Faye. Damn myself.....I don't deserve all these kind people. After all I've done.

((Yeah that'll shock you. Let me remind you it was my CHARACTER that loves Faye. Don't read into it))

"Terrance, huh? Well, I'm Corporal Katherine Connors, at your service. You can call me Kate, though," she smiled.

"Now, if I may, let me put a bandage on that wound, sir," she said, grabbing the first aid kit from inside the vehicle.

Faye looked down at the ground for a second as Terrence pulled back, head spinning again. She was reaching down to pick up the ice pack, putting it against her forehead again, when Terrence confirmed her suspicions. So it won't kill Terrence. That's one good thing today.

She straightened up slowly, grimacing when her back twinged. She couldn't see her back, but she assumed there was probably something wrong with it, from the amount of trouble it was giving her. As she met Terrence's eyes, she gave him a quavering smile, saying, "Well, I don't...really know what to make of it, but at least if he attacks, you're not going to die...right?"

Catching Kate's eye, she gave Kate a warm smile, thankful that the woman had joined their group. She'd been a blessing so far.

After finishing up treating Terrance's injury, she looked at Faye.

"Now, Faye, I've noticed you've been feeling a lot of pain when you try to move your back. Not enough pain to make me think you broke something, but maybe you have a bruise or a few cuts on your back. Either way, let me check," she said to Faye, picking up the med kit from the suburban.

"Let me have a look."
