It was just a little mention, on a profile.
I doubt every single cast member, going into this, stopped to think of the possible chain of events that would follow that.
Hell, do you know any one who's that guarded in everyday interactions on social networking sites?
That's just paranoid...

My main response to all this: Why not just come out for credit after the project is done (assuming it has an end)? If you're trying to get attention from the industry, making LinkedIn profiles (for businesses) would be a better idea, since if someone who's in the industry is more likely to find you there and crazy ass fans are unlikely to find you altogether (the only reason I found one of your profiles was because I searched for Marble Hornets to find a page to fan, no one would do that at LI).

Anyways, I feel like you're mocking me with the possible immersion ruining comment at the top. Honestly, what makes certain ARGs for me is having no clue about the writers behind it. For myself and I'm sure plenty of others, it would have been more enjoyable to not know who you were while interested in Marble Hornets, and then we could appreciate your work and effort after it was complete (ie movie credits).

How does this even relate to what he said?

He said he wanted credit, I asked why not wait until it's done (my main response), and then went off on a tangent. That hard to follow?

Wanting credit doesn't mean you want to be swarmed by fans!

misquote for the win!

Please give us some credit though. We take our project seriously and we aren't going to let any negative fan moments cause us to alter the story to spite you. In addition to that, we certainly aren't going to pack up our toys and head home because someone succeeds in annoying us.

In context he is saying give them credit for being professionals. Not that he wants credit for being the co-writer. He was responding to the people who were afraid that since people were stalking and harassing them they would cancel the project.

He was saying in that paragraph that he is a professional and isn't going to quit just because some people ask him inane and stupid questions.

I'm pretty sure that this is an open and shut case for both sides. Horse's mouth and all that.

:c Balls about not even getting a lower estimate's-worth for the friends-of-youtube benefits, though. Hopefully it will all pay off somewhere down the road though!

Likewise we are fine with criticism, even the harsh kind, so you don't have to tell someone to gtfo if they don't particularly like something we do. We might not agree with the viewpoint, but everyone is free to have their own opinions.

In conclusion, you guys just need to chill out a bit. I'm calm. Troy is calm. We're all calm. Everything is gonna be allllllllllllright. I'll post some sort of confirmation in my facebook status if you guys need some proof that this is me.

Awesomesauce!

Actually, this is really reassuring! As awesome as the product is (you've made me appreciate a genre I had avoided up until MH), it's hard to gauge the investment level of the creator. And honestly, if someone took the attitude to something I did that some of the people here have been taking to your work, I might have been tempted to pull a "screw you guys I'm going home". I'm glad to hear that things are staying frosty on your end. Smile

Those guys in the MH crew are so awesome. XD I would've flipped my top already if I'd had as many people pestering me as they do.

Okay guys, this is the only time I'll post here.

I'm not angry about people asking questions about Marble Hornets, I am just going to (A.) ignore the question, (B.) give you a nonsense answer, or (C.) block you if you continue to ask after I said no then let it drop that you tracked down "Sarah" before the facebook profiles even came out (splodingheads over there). I can understand the viewpoint of "well if they don't like it then they shouldn't have ______". I'm sorry you feel that way but I'm not changing my policy right now.

Please give us some credit though. We take our project seriously and we aren't going to let any negative fan moments cause us to alter the story to spite you. In addition to that, we certainly aren't going to pack up our toys and head home because someone succeeds in annoying us.

P.S. "Sarah" thinks you are creepy, splodingheads.

I read that thread where you guys were trying to guess how much money we made off adsense and hahahaha man I wish we made even as much as the low estimates there.

OK, I'm sorry, but I find it a bit difficult to believe you're actually Joseph. You have my Facebook, so if it really WAS you, I'd like to hear it from there, just for confirmation Confused

BTW, Masky = HAWT, I'd go gay for him Razz

I'm glad to see the cast is calm about all of the sudden crazies coming out of the woodworks. I don't know how I'd handle a situation like that, but they seem to be level-headed with a good sense of humor. Kudos to them on that.

People just need to use some common sense and just watch things unfold instead of demanding answers. I mean, isn't that the whole reason we're watching MH in the first place? If we had all the answers, it wouldn't be as fun!

These guys seem awesome, but I'd feel bad bothering them even just to tell them that I appreciate what they've put out there for us. Although, hearing that "Alex" will talk about TF2 makes me want to friend him just for an apparent mutual fondness of Valve games! Haha!

Let's play nice, kids! Good manners and all that jazz. They'll take you far. Smile

Ditto. I was getting a tad worried that some of the MH followers were going a bit too far with this, and the creators were considering dropping it just to get away from the harassment. You have no clue how glad I am that nothing went that far.

I agree that we need to chill out. It used to be a nice, fun community, and now we have bickering over minutiae, angry trolls and apparently a stalker or two. Seriously? Why not at least try to keep the peace, or at least be civil to one another.

XD Bwaahaha! You know, I think I like MH even MORE now that I know the creators (or at least one of them) are so awesome.

Haha that's really cool, having a MH cast member come on to mute to tell you guys to stop.

I'm probably gonna ask two very stupid questions, but i still wanna know:

Who does Joseph play in MH?

And where are these peoples facebooks? lol

Joseph plays Alex, Troy plays Jay, and Tim plays... Tim.

To find Joseph and Troy, just search 'marble hornets' in the search. That easy. I don't recall where I found Tim from, though.
