Oh, yeah, he is just going over all the crap he knows/realizes. I'mm Sum Up. You are wrong on one point: Mike didn't know anyone else, like you and Kate, as far as he knows.

Basically, Slender Man attacked his friends when he was in grade school. He ran away. People all blamed him but no one could prove it. His parents, who ALSO thought they kid did it, under pressure from the school and neighbors, moved to a new place. On the first day in his new school, he got into a fight and didn't stop fighting since. Next, his last High school fight had someone whip out a knife. He broke some school property and beat the hell out of him, however they couldn't prove the kid pulled a knife so they expelled him. His parents kicked him out into the army where his Sarge essentially black listed him out of revenge for interfereing.
