I've always taken for granted that Jay was involved with the Slennanigans from the start, not that he was/had a doppleganger or was being time-fucked-with. We really do need to see where this is going I guess. D: I still think that Jay got tangled up in Slenderman along with the rest. His 'helping out during the beginning before going back to classes' could always have been a cover, or a partial cover to explain the memory loss.

Man, setting Jay up to actually get help from Tim would have everyone on the edge of their seats wondering if Tim IS Masky and if he's going to make a face-heel turn at some point. D: "OH GOD, DON'T TURN YOUR BACK ON HIM, JAY!" I can't see Tim being more helpful than he was, unless Jay were to sit him down and show him the footage from #17 and #20, point out Slenderman in the background of #17, say, "Dude, do you remember this? Okay, well do you see that guy? Tell me you don't remember any of this because if you don't, we have some serious work to do here. And if you do then for the love of sanity tell me what the hell is going on!"

As for the footage, you're probably right. Seems intentional from a narrative point of view at the very least. Creepy that someone might be standing right outside, staring at a camera! Could explain the strange things going on with the lack of distortion... or something? (What if the camera is right outside Jay's bedroom window, which is why we see distortion there for a minute, because someone's standing right outside? :o)

Lurker here, watcher of Marble Hornets. I've commented on J's twitter a few times (never had a reply, though), but that's the extent of it.

Just a thought: it's possible that the "face" we see is actually just the reflection of, say, the headlights of a car hitting a window, then being recorded. We're just making it out to be more important then it is.

Also; I wonder what kind of camera system J uses? If it's low-quality, it's possible that someone may have been able to hack into it from ~somewhere else~ and force the camera leading to his computer room to loop footage from earlier in the day. J hasn't said whether he remembers what he was doing during those two hours, but it is possible that he simply stayed in the computer room for the missing two hours.

As for the distortion, it's possible that Masky/Slendy was outside J's boarded-up window - if the theory that the light-in-the-camera is Masky, it's possible that he merely moved around the building a little; the only problem is that the last time this happened (Entry #19? idk), the camera didn't mess up until Masky was in the room. Naturally, the thought that spurred this idea was "Heyyyy J lemme in I brought Scrabble D:"

Alternatively, Masky entered the computer room while J was sleeping (hence the distortion in the next room while he was there) and told it to loop the footage, including the footage being recorded when he was in the room (removing his presence). Then, he hung around in the computer room until J came in, then... um. Did something to him? I don't know. As for the stopping/starting of distortion when Masky may have been in the computer room, the videos have never distorted equally: Entry #1 has no distortion (or very little) when Slendy in on-screen, same for Entry #5 (?) when Alex runs into Slenderman a few metres from the camera. Masky's introduction had no distortion as well.

Firstly, 'sleasures' sounds way more sleazy to me than slenderific. XD *snrk*

I'm actually liking the theory that the entire room is teleporting, hence the distortion throughout. Also, there is a black chunk for a moment between the distortion (a brand new kind that we haven't seen before, which may or may not be important~ Maybe the jail bars sort of shapes are going to be Jay-specific?) and the regular looking room. More time could have passed while we're seeing black than just a second -- I don't think anyone's mentioned that before.

But really it doesn't seem exactly like the distortion is themed... or that one hasn't been developed yet. So far it's been mostly 'oh shit, the camera's acting up! Slendy's near by!' but that almost seems to be changing. o_o' I hope that they are not getting too complicated and overwhelmed with where they're going.

Personally, I think the 'face' on the screen was either Slendy or Masky peeking in. Think about it. It makes sense that, the reason Jay or Alex can never remember anything except what's on the tapes is because Slendy and Masky are literally IN the tapes. It's their little window into watching the people they stalk, and would explain why Masky did not show up until Jay began sifting through the tapes and watching for Slendy.

Maybe I'm just blind, but I'm really not seeing a face on the TV even after checking a few times. :S Can someone highlight it for me? Is it just that vague skull shape?

Okay, so I've tried to make sense of this show for a while, and It just creeps me out everytime. Working nights at a slow hotel doesn't help either.......

Posting here the first time, and I tried to read through all those damn pages and decided to quit at like 13. I'm too important for that shit.

Anyway, those faces, the red and the blue ones. Well the blue one literally shows up outta nowhere, and after a few seconds you can see it morph until you can see a latticework that looks a lot like the teeth on the skullmask. I'm guessing it shows up at the forehead and as it stands taller you can eventually see the teeth.

The red face though.....scares me.

You see, the red face DOESN'T teleport there from nowhere....no, If you look closely, that figure is in the left side of the tv screen, and in a matter of frames, moves DOWN THE FUCKING STREET in a streak and stares at the fucking camera. I have no idea why, but this really scares me. And the streak is composed primarily of black........ Anyway it's only for like 3 frames, but you can clearly see it. And sorry if this has already been posted, but I really don't have the patience.
