First off, holy jeez. Calling your opponents stupid and being condescending is totally not the way to make your point, guy. You mostly just made yourself look like a steaming turd. Congratulations.

Secondly, the problem with this debate is that we're going to be arguing different conclusions from the exact same evidence. It isn't going to go anywhere, because there is a dearth of proof either way. The only real thing the anti-teleportation folks have to go on are the slight discrepancy in the timestamps in 24 and the precedent for mindfuckery and tapefuckery; the only thing that the teleportation supporting folks have to go on is the appearance of teleportation in 23 and 24 from both an inside and an outside point of view. (Frankly, I think the latter is more convincing than the former, considering the creators made an entire entry to basically shove teleportation down our throats.) This entire argument is a matter of interpretation, and it's just going to go around in circles while the people who don't want to believe teleportation is happening in marble hornets staunchly continue to do so. We need more evidence before it gets resolved, and honestly I doubt they're going to baby us along about it anymore.

Gordon, usually you are awesome. D: That blowup is so uncharacteristic of you.

As for proving things one way or another, JKat basically sums it up, I guess. Of course I'm more prone to believing that since they are shoving teleportation down our throats, they're trying to conceal something more subtle beneath it. But that's opinion and can't necessarily be backed up.

I don't think we're going to find anything that finally proves the 'real' reason one way or another any time soon. We can have 'faith' in either side but that doesn't necessarily make it true. ;P

The timestamps in Entry 24 are a lot more messed up than just "not matching at the last part". The footage on the right shows a very different timestamp from when it was first shown in the entry.

At 1:38 on the YouTube clip, J opens the door. At 1:40, it cuts to the living room but the timestamp continues from earlier. It does not cut back to an earlier time. Check out 1:43 where the face shows up on the TV. The timestamp is 00:19:400. When shown again at 2:48, the timestamp is 00:16:283.

I assumed it's an OOG error in editing the clip, but the MH creators have been pretty careful so far...

Fact or theory?

We know that SM and Masky affect technology. So, is it not too far of a stretch to say that the video was messed with? It was made to give the impression that Jay disappeared.

This line of thinking matches up with what we know about Alex's relationship to taped medium. Alex was furious when his cameraman stopped filming in Entry 9, because (as far as we know) attempted to film every moment of his life. Even when bloodied (Entry 14) his only thought is to change the tape to continue filming. After his loss of Seth (Entry 22), Alex says "all I can remember from the night is right here [on this tape]. All I can remember at all is on that tape now."

It mostly matches with what we know about J. J's memory loss was in one instance directly related to his camera stopping (Entry 1Cool. In his room, J has been pretty cognizant lately and hasn't blacked out - and he has been filming his room 24/7. On the other hand, J doesn't seem to remember several taped events (Entries 17 and 20).

It is possible that tapes=memory for anyone directly targeted by SM. If that is the case here, editing tapes would definitely alter memory.

I'm of the opinion that Mr. Thin can "slip". Ignore the laws of space for a moment to move someplace.

Don't know if it's so much that altering the tapes alters the memory, but more of an 'I can't remember anything save for what I've rewatched on the tapes, and even that seems to get iffy.' If the tapes are altered than the person who has to rewatch them is going to start to assume that they must be the truth, given that they've forgotten what they see.

They are probably going over these forums, posting the right answer, and laughing as it gets shot down.

Pffft, highly doubt it. XD Why would they waste time on unfiction and the shit tonne of crap that we post about when they're actually, you know, being productive?

Though if it was me, I would totally lurk back from time to time and giggle over the various theories being bounced around (and, you know, probably take some notes on what people are thinking if they jive for me. But that's just me. XD) even if I never posted. Something like what they're making probably takes an effing lot of time... I can't comprehend how they'd also have time to lurk the tubes AND live their lives unless they took shifts or something!

Slenderman is a mythical being who wears a suit and has tentacles. "Believability" isn't an issue here.

This.

And this. SO this.

I want to make an argument for the teleportation theory, but at present I have a headache and stuff to do. I may very well come back when I have a clear head to debate this.

I do apologize. I really can't give a reason for my outburst that will satisfy both you and myself, so I only have this to say:

A big contributor to the rage is that fact that a lot of people automatically jump on a bandwagon the minute a theory is put out, no matter how right or wrong it is. I just want to see more people on this forum think before they post something in agreement or disagreement.

They're obviously trying to make it look like teleportation, so I'm just going to assume that's what it is, at least for now.

You guys are trying too hard to find answers when the answer is right in front of you.

"SOMEONE COULD'VE BROKEN INTO J'S BARRICADED HOUSE AND EDITED THE FOOTAGE" seems like too convenient of an excuse. I'm sorry. The only reason you're denying this theory is that you don't like the idea of it, and that's your problem.

I can understand both sides of this argument, but I've always had a specific mindset of Marble Hornets and the teleportation only fits into the theory that Slendy can teleport, MAYBE he's able to teleport other things/slash people but I can't see it just happening naturally. As people have been saying earlier, it's starting to become apparant that all of us are looking too deeply into these videos. I miss when the only thing we were looking hard for was our tentacly slender friend Sad

No man, that's a lame comeback too -- there's ample evidence that the timestamps on the cameras are fucked with something serious -- people have brought it up numerous times. There's ample reason to deny teleportation. There's ample reason to accept it. Both sides have compelling points. It's not that we need more evidence shoved into our faces that tells us one way or another, I think it's more that we have the opportunity now to look for circumstantial evidence in the way that Masky or Slendy, or even Jay move around in the future. It seems more like a set up to help us frame some upcoming (and recent) weirdness. Either way -- teleportation, footage fucking-with -- we now have something to focus on and watch for.

Having a framework is probably pretty darned important EITHER way. As fun as a veritable 'Where's Waldo'-deluge of Slendy videos would be, having a pointer for what else we can look out for seems like a good setup to me. XD
