You should email your answer anyway because we need 50 good answer in order to please Hawker (and we already had a hard time to find 10 people last time)

Gotcha! I will get to that email then. When you need more bodies for emailing next time, feel free to nudge me with a PM as well. Nonetheless, I will be keeping an eye on this thread from now on.

EDIT: He says "Send 50 correct answers." Is it possible to send an email with the final answer written 50 times? He didn't specify 50 different people in this post.

Didn't think of that. Guess we should aim for both (At the very least it will upset Hawker, which sounds like a good thing to do Wink )

I hope we get 50 too. We really need it. I've emailed him too so that's one more added. Mabye we should send an email with 50 answers just in case. It can't hurt. It's Hawker's fault for not specifying in the first place, it'll teach him a lesson Razz.

I like the way you think! Idea
Hawker doesn't strike me as the kind of person to play fair at the best of times, but it is worth a shot.

In any case, I've sent in my email with the answer too. It was a fun, diverting little puzzle.

I love the way the puzzles come out and then that awesomesauce feeling when the answer reveals itself. I wonder what people at work think when I beam and go "oooh yay" haha

I bet they wish they could have fun at work too. Smile

btw Anna has posted another puzzle diversion. As it is an audio puzzle you may need to wait until after work to complete it.

By now, you've probably heard what I have to say about Hawker's scare tactics. They won't work on me, even if the boys are scared on my behalf. I'm just not thinking about it. At least I have something to new to focus on, and here it is...
Lewis is pretty good with a guitar. He can strum a tune but he'd never claim to have perfect pitch. Fortunately, there are ways of training yourself to hear more clearly and distinguish notes more reliably. That's what we're going to do today.
As I said before, the heist simulation isn't perfect this time. We don't have enough information. At this point, we'll just have to make refinements as we go along.
Hawker's building uses an old digital combination lock on one of the doors. I know the model: it's one of those that makes a different audible tone when you press each button. If Lewis can get himself close enough to the door when a guard goes through, he should be able to hear the code and then type it in himself.
I've built an online version of the combination lock here. Try it out, and see if you can get through the door without setting off the alarm. Let me know if you succeed.

De-fused
4 November 2010

I've managed to find out another detail of Hawker's security measures. He might have added a few guards and locks, but I doubt he will have rewired the whole building, so I'm hoping the wiring diagrams I've discovered will still be helpful.

If Lewis can bypass the right circuits using some low-resistance silicon wires, it should be possible to disable the building's CCTV cameras without triggering the main alarm. I haven't quite figured out exactly how to do that yet, but I've built a model to help work it out.

The fuse-box is colour-coded, and the wires cannot cross. With those two things in mind, see if you can figure out a way to rewire the whole thing, then let me know. I'm sure that, between us all, we can come up with a solution... can't we?

Each ARG runs a little differently, that is part of the beauty of the medium. I recommend visiting www.argn.com to 'find out about games'. Smile
