WHUT.
It looks like even Spidey is jumping on the Tron bandwagon. The glowy suits don't fit him though. :/
As we get nearer to the movie's release, I wonder what other things will suddenly take on a Tron-ish bent...

Tell me about it man. I was around when Tron came out (6 in '82).. I dont remember everyone jumping the wagon when that came.. But now we are coming from a world, that has no talent, and must copy from someone else. Ten bucks.... we will see Barbie in a tron suit....lol j/k

even though since tron is starting to be a huge franchise hype, new generations of "nerds" are catching up on the series of other characters that can possibly fit into such circumstance.

I'm part of that generation! I only found out about the original Tron when it was used in a Disney video game that came out in 2006. I did some digging on the interwebs and here I am, obsessed with glowy suits and lightcycles. But that doesn't mean I'm going to buy everything that glows. >_>
A lot of movies are pulling from the past, especially the 1980s. I guess there's not much creativity anymore.

not only that, but there's been a lot of remakes nowadays.
but Batman is exceptional, cuz C. Nolan is recreating him.

Pop culture and fashion have a ~20 year recycle period. The TRON thing is actually somewhat overdue. And as someone who was around as an adult when it came out and a dyed-in-the-wool Trekkie, working a tech MOS in the Army with a ton 'o geeks, I didn't hear anyone going crazy over the film when it came out. It was just okay. It was no Star Wars (No such thing as ANH at the time) or ESB.
Just one of those cult things that grow on people because aspects of it are before their time and the story is engaging. The video game popularity never seemed to wane, though. Everybody always respected that.
I found out recently, that my family still isn't ready to respect these older classic efforts, though... If their inability to sit through even a single DVD eppy of Tom Baker is any indication.

Maybe because I wasn't, um, 'old' when Tron came out I remember many of my own contemporaries liking it quite a bit. Maybe its because my contemporaries were the generation taking up video games like mad. I was a fan of Tempest , and and played many others, so a film that was inside the game world seemed pretty cool to me.
I don't think the cultural phenomenon that Tron has become was the result of just a very slow adoption, but a fairly strong undercurrent of a generation that was too young to be readily heard back then, but is in its full power to assert itself now.

Yay, Tempest! One of my favorites. That and Tailgunner. Both had that place you had to go to mentally in order to do well.

Well we have been seeing this morph out of cartoon characters for sometime now. Just look at the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Fast forward"
and "Yu gi ho 5D" which not only has tron like tattoos but they even fight on cycles in a light maze.

Spider-Man=Tron The only reason this picture happened is because Marvel is now part of Disney. I don't think it would have happened if Marvel was sold to them. Disney is probably using the comics as a means to end of advertising for tron.

if we get more Tron out of Disney as a result, so be it!
also, tbh, glowing light up suits hasn't exactly been completely out of mind through the years.

Not sure I get you you on this. Are you saying Tron wouldn't have happened without the Marvel acquisition, or the Spider-Man wouldn't have?
Tron was being developed before Disney bought Marvel.
