Re: Possibly last chance at cheap Tron arcade machine.

To all those who want a Tron arcade machine before the new movie comes out and the prices skyrocket, there is an arcade auction possibly coming to you town.

http://www.superauctions.com

Go early, before the auction starts they set up all the arcade machines and you can play them all before they start.

My brother and I haven't been since 2003 or so, that is when the market was the craziest. I imagine they will go low since the economy isn't the greatest.

We originally bought our first Tron machine for $200 and fixed it up. Sold it for $800 at the auction and went from there.

We have had the same one for the past 5 or 6 years now and are slowly but surely restoring it.

Even if you take $100-$200 you will still walk away with a cabinet or two.

We may not get a Tron this round but last time we went I could have gotten a Dodgeball 4 player for $80. Bang Head

There are a lot of fun games to play, if you walk around and bs people you will run into some of the most interesting people you could meet. One time we were bs-ing with a guy who turned out to be one of the main designers for Bally Midway and was even on the Tron game back in the day.

Thansk for this awesome heads up. I've looked through their calendar tho and as far as I can see, they never are in NYC. Do you have any suggestions about where a NYer should go? I don't drive...

The closest I can see is MA.

But there are a few there that say the location hasn't been posted yet. And I would have to assume the three biggest cities to have the most arcade games in the auction are LA, Dallas, and NY so keep checking the site for dates.

We haven't been in a while so I can't promise the games are going as cheap as they were but I know you can get something you like for cheap.

Pinballs have always been expensive though although you play them for free til the auction starts as well.

Yeah. There was a guy who asked if I wanted to be on video giving a testimonial for disney's site. I declined, but he gave my GF and I a card with Quorra on it. After reading the earlier post, There is a partial circle in the bottom corner. I didn't even realize it.....now I'm on the hunt!

Craiglook has one in NY (It's a cabaret, though)

ETA: CraigLook was shut down by Craigslist. Guess they can't stand someone trying to make them more successful Rolling Eyes

he seems to be selling a poster too
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220649573425#ht_500wt_1154

i dont get why he took the picture of the poster like that....is it anyone from here? would like to confirm to make sure its the real thing. im sure it is but it would ease my mind knowing its from a unforumer

They both look accurate to me. I have both.

It's a LONG poster, so would be hard to get a good shot of it. You'd have to unroll it and weigh down the corners with something heavy as it is REALLY stiff.

The guy selling the poster has 100% feedback so I wouldn't be that worried. He probably only took a picture that way to show what number the poster was

I've been trying to put together a set winning auctions on ebay. People are just plain retarded with what they're willing to spend on some of this stuff. So far I've only managed to win the Recognizer one. Oh well. Not in any hurry. I know eventually I'll have all this stuff for what I'm willing to part with.

What if nobody has or isn't willing to part with the items requested. For instance, I highly doubt anyone will part with the bits now that we (think we) know the value of them.

I'd be willing to make deals or take any offers!

I know that alot of people really wanted these and didn't or couldn't get them. So I figured that I'd help the people that couldn't get them or buy them off of ebay a chance to make some trades!

Wow... these "coasters" really are just glorified cards. I thought they would be made of thicker stuff. No wonder there's thousands of these things floating around. Can't believe no one has commented on how flimsy they are. For anyone being asked to trade any good swag for coasters... DON'T DO IT. LOL.
