 		Thanks Rose. Yes Sousa would rhyme with Booba, which by the way has nothing to do with anatomy, but is a nickname derived from the older definition:

-an error, usually involving something of simplistic nature
-an oaf

 		So I'm leaving in the morning for Lake Placid, I'm walking in a half-marathon there on Sunday. I'm nervous about it because (a) I had a severe foot injury and was walking with a cane up to just a few months ago, (b) I've had bronchitis and severe allergies and haven't walked to train for about 3 weeks, and (c) I've never done this before. I'm excited though and Lake Placid is beautiful.

Anyway, I'll try to check in over the weekend, but maybe not til late on Monday.

Have a great weekend lovelies. I'll let you know how this turns out!

Thanks for the good wishes! Lake Placid is beautiful, I plan on going back next year!! Because Lake Placid has stuff from the 1980 Olympics, there is a huge training center there. You can watch them training on the ski jumps (which are MUCH taller than it appears on TV) and even take a ride on a bobsled run with professional bobsledders. Plus the Adirondacks are all around, it is well worth a visit if you like hiking and skiing. I did half of the half marathon before pain stopped me - but I'm pleased with my first effort. My next half marathon will be in Dayton Ohio in September...at least that course will be flat!

Claptrap is correct! Great work once again Trillian! I think claptrap is an old-fashioned word,( but maybe some people still use it), which may be why you weren't familiar with it.

 		The last seems pretty straightforward. Just a lot of possibilities.

Axe, pick, etc.

But I can't conjugate[as in "pair"] "commends" with either "wine" or "wit".
Is there another meaning for "commend" other than the "praise" or "entrust" variants?

 		I've been toying with the idea of word play for "commends" as "comes at the end of" and since both "books and bottles" are plural, while "wine and wit" are not...

But I haven't been able to find a historical or literary reference to force some sense into the last line.

and after reviewing types of axes, this one popped out Dryads
that seems to fit the whole.

I think you've *almost* got it. While I'm pretty sure Penelope was, as you say,
