I remain in the same camp as those who have made Lovecraft references (I know, what a shocker). Slenderman is alien, but not extraterrestrial. He's undead, but only in the sense that he never lived. Nyarlathotop is a fine analogue. We can't know his motivations and we can't understand his methods. He is so alien as to defy conventions of good and evil. He is the only fate worse than madness.

He's also a pretty cool guy who doesn't afraid of anything.

I don't think he's an alien, a ghost or a reaper, I think he's just the Slender Man, pure and simple.

If there is a concept that can be applied, well, the Lovecraft references can provide a hint. Not that he's one of Lovecraft's pantheon, it's just that he's so "Other" that we simply can't understand his nature, there's no preconceived little checkboxes we can fit him into. Like I said, he's just the goddamn Slender Man, that's all there is to it.

His suit makes him appear to belong but the lack of face makes him undeniably alien, not in a extraterrestrial way just in that we have no understanding.

Or he could just be an alien using the other sense of the word...maybe he's from the worst place of all! New Jersey! But I jest.

I remember hearing sometime back -whether from the original forum, or somewhere else- that he was in fact, an alien. I guess I'll have to try and figure out where I got that idea.
