[Trailhead?] Thisman.org Ever dream this man? http://thisman.org/
The basic idea seems to be that there's a man, pictured on the site, who repeatedly appears in people's dreams all over the world. Maybe he's the Sandman? *shrugs* From the site:
Quote:
At the moment there is no ascertained relation or common trait among the people that have dreamed of seeing this man. Moreover, no living man has ever been recognized as resembling the man of the portrait by the people who have seen this man in their dreams.
This might be a trailhead, or it might be real. Well, real insofar as the people posting it really believe this is happening. Who knows.

infoSPLAT thisman.org is at the bottom of the page, which, if this is an ARG, will be the perfect place to fire off your email to.
Looks like an ARG to me, but that's just my two cents.

Website is registered to Andrea Natella, the owner of Guerrigliamarketing.it -- English language interview with her here http://newmediafix.net/daily/?p=1473
It's been on the web since early 2008, so hard to tell if there's more to it than what you currently see. Interesting concept, though.

It can't be too terribly old, one of the pictures in the In The World section refers to Michael Jackson's death. http://thisman.org/intheworld/la.jpg

I seem to recall reading something similar about this on Wikipedia a little while ago... but of course, now I can't find it.
The site does look rather ARGish, but I have a few doubts. In particular, the site was created in January of 2008, and nothing has been said about it (as far as I know). I'm thinking this is probably not a game.

Looking at the guestbook is interesting. The last comment on there has both an email and a website link. His website is http://www.youtube.com/nagualelias, and lo and behold, his featured video is basically an advertisement for This Man. But he seems pretty legit -- his profile complains of people asking him for guitar tabs and whatnot... Meh. I'm not sure about this one. The site itself seems VERY ARG-y to me, but hard to tell otherwise.
There's a contact link other than the one at the bottom, and it's for those who have dreamt about This Man. I'm sending off something, and we'll see where it's headed:

Well, assuming it is an ARG, the poster in the phone booth in London is at 175 Cannon Street Road in Shadwell.
That's my sleuthing for the day done.

I think it may be a viral of a different sort. People find the page, and like it did me, are intrigued and a little creeped out by it. The, because its on your subconscious, you end up dreaming about it, tell people about it, and the cycle goes on. It seems like a little psychological experiment to me.

I saw it posted on Sanctuary. For the uninitated, Sanctuary is an imageboard for the creepy/paranormal that has more moderators, fewer visitors, and a better noise-to-signal ratio than the chans.

:/ This kind of doesn't look like a game anymore. If it is one, it's being poorly done.
